I recently purchased a car from Mike Wester at Maserati of Naperville. There were three different dealers in the running for my business, but due to Mike’s astute knowledge of his product, coupled with his ability to meet my needs and requests, he earned my business. I can’t tell you what a pleasure it’s been dealing with him. He put my local dealer to shame. If you’re in the market for a Maserati, call this guy. You won’t regret it!

I went in here to learn a bit more about one of my favorite kind of vehicles. Gary was the salesman to give me the information I was looking for. He was an honestly good guy with a passion for the cars & an obvious nerd for the details/​specs about each and every one on the lot. I was glad to see my local dealership was set up with competent salesmen instead of some guy trying to shove me in a car I don’t want. I just can’t recommend this place enough. Ask for Gary McCord & he’ll take care of ya. He did for me.

I flew into Chicago to make my purchase and met with one of the sales managers who had been assisting me over the phone. The entire team at Naperville was professional and went the extra mile to service my business.
There was an extra cost for me to tow my vehicle back but the deal worked out great for me. The paperwork and car was already prepared when I had arrived and I was out of the dealership within an hour.

I just recently bought a Maserati from Mike Wester and his manager at Maserati of Naperville. My experience was AWESOME. Mike and his team, along with the managers were very helpful, knew the cars, and helped me with every question I asked. At no time was there ever sales pressure and, in fact, I enjoy going back for service and car washes. I have owned many other exotic sports cars from various dealerships and have never been treated quite as well as Maserati of Naperville. A colleague and I visited Maserati Naperville to look at a Maserati Ghibli. We were met on the lot by Gary, a very pleasant salesman. We talked briefly about the various options that we did or did not care about, and he did a fine job of narrowing down the list of available inventory to match our requests, while also asking if we wanted coffee, water or the like.
In all, Gary was very pleasant and professional. His manager, on the other hand, is another story.
When we finally narrowed down the vehicle we wanted to test drive, I attempted to hand over my license for the customary photocopy/​scan. At this point, Gary’s manager (which I didn’t get his name) started being hyper insistent that I have my credit check then and there. I have several issues with this.
1. There’s no need to pointlessly run someone’s credit if they aren’t sure they wish to purchase from a particular car brand or dealership. As anyone who is even mildly aware of how FICO scoring works, each application dents your score. If one was to apply this same procedure to each dealership one went to, one would be denied a loan by the time you actually wanted to talk to a finance manager.
2. I have a valid driver’s license. That is all that is legally required to test drive a car. Gary’s manager went off on a big-​time explanation on why I needed my credit run, none of which is needed to test drive a vehicle.
3. I’ve previously test-​driven several exotic and high-​value cars. Never, at any dealership, of any brand, have I been forced to have my credit run prior to taking a test drive.
4. My real, true FICO score ranges between 770 – 790, depending upon the month. I’ve attached an actual screenshot taken this morning with my FICO 774 score. The reason why I have such excellent credit is because I’m not easily badgered into having it run for no reason.
5. Mister Maserati manager could have done workplace verification and found that I’ve worked for, or on behalf of, a Fortune 100 company, a waiver/​release of liability form or any number of checks to prove we weren’t out to test drive an exotic car just for the fun of it.
In short, the treatment we received at Maserati of Naperville was atrocious. When I refused to have my credit run for absolutely no reason, the manager all but asked me to leave the lot. I’ve received better treatment on used car lots, than at this supposedly high-​end dealership.
Furthermore, I’ve previously worked with Maserati of Schaumburg and had nothing but good things to say about the sales and management staff over there. If you’re in the market for a Maserati in the Chicagoland area, I suggest you take your business there first unless you enjoy being treated as a «liability» rather than a customer at Maserati of Naperville. I couldn’t leave this place soon enough.

Admittedly, as I work in the automotive sector, my standards for purchasing a vehicle are high. I went to Maserati of Naperville because they had the exact vehicle I had been searching for listed online. I spoke with a very nice salesman named Gary M. Via phone and email. He set up an appointment for me to come do a test drive and to have my vehicle appraised. Upon arrival Gary was professional and respectful, not pushy or a ‘hard seller.’ However nice Gary was, the f finance manager could not have been more rude. Firstly, after seeing two women buying a car, he clearly drastically undervalued the trade in and tried to put give me a loan with 7% interest. As a finance professionals, we immediately questioned his proposed financing and he quickly changed his tune after he learned where we are employed. Still, he was unwilling to negotiate at all AND WOULD NOT EVEN GIVE US A PURCHASE PRICE FOR THE VEHICLE. It’s unfortunate that this dealership only wants to sell brand new Maseratis. I already had the paperwork for financing from the credit union ON THIS VEHICLE ALREADY APPROVED IN MY CAR. We would have left with their vehicle, but his dishonesty and bad attitude left such a bad taste in my mouth that we simply left. Too bad they employ good salesmen, but the sleezy finance manager kept him from closing the deal. Disappointed.
