These guys are the worst! Never told me that this simple repair would take 5 days. They hadn’t even ordered the part in advance as they told me later. When I ask to pick up my car on day one they just (rudely)told me that this is my problem. I got a rental car, they never followed up with me (simple phone call would have done it). When I picked up my car they went at my with two people, yelling at me and being rude. I think they have some kind of monopoly because the car dealers recommend them. I didn’t do any research for other body shops. Do yourself a favor and check some alternatives! They were fast in making a quick buck the though! Just thought you should know this…

It took them three weeks to complete my simple insurance claim! Dealer recommended them and I’m sorry that they did. Service was rude and gave me no visibility at all. Will never go back here again.

Sadly, I used the car in front of me to stop my brand new BMW 435. I took my car to Birkholz again. That’s right, I had a brand new 435 because some clown ran a red light and totaled my 335.
In both situations — a total loss, and an extensive repair job — they were professional, helpful, and EXTREMELY good at repairing or totaling out my cars.
When the repairs were completed on my 435, I drove straight to my trusty mechanic (who rebuilds classic corvettes) to have him critique their work. He said it was excellent and that as a mechanic he would not be able to tell that there had ever been any damage.
If my mechanic gives me the all clear, than I know they did an amazing job. No detail was overlooked. I was so impressed. And I am not ashamed to admit that I am a snobby BMW owner with extremely high expectations (i.e. demanding crazy lady).

The service I had with Birkholz in Naperville was not only bad business practice, but was also a case of bait and switch. I had a simple insurance claim that involved some work for insurance proceeds. They had promised my car complete within 7 days; they had my car in their shop for almost double that and it still was not to satisfaction. Not only that, I was to pay a certain amount and when I showed up to pick up my car, which was not complete, they had tripled my bill and would not take the check from my insurance company. Apart from the billing issue, they had destroyed pieces of molding with a buffer, put a scratch in my trunk lid that was not there prior to dropping off the car, and poorly installed multiple parts to a point where they did not line up. When I went to pick up my car, I felt the need to have a Naperville Police officer there to assist me. After all was said and done, I need to take my car to another shop to have the work done; I was not pleased with their service to say the least. I wouldn’t let them fix a Match Box Car I’m not even sure why I trusted them will my Audi A6. If I could rate them negative stars I would. I have also filed a complaint with the BBB and the Attorney Generals Office

These guys are THE BEST! My BMW M3 was recently heavily damaged and luckily I had it towed to Birkholz. They were incredibly thorough and while many shops may have cut corners to fix it, they took the time and effort to calculate what it would take to fix the car like new. After doing so it was determined to be a total loss which was clearly the right decision. Further they are very friendly, polite, and patient with their customers. Birkholz-​De Jong Body Werks is a class act!!!

I have a bad habit of hitting my front bumper on the curves.
I had the front bumper of my VW repaired by them back in July 2006. I think my car was the least expensive car there. But they treat her equal to all the other cars. I am under the impression they do body work for just German cars.
They were nice, friendly and gave accurate quotes. It took them a little longer to fix the bumper. But it was good. They gave my car a complete cleaning. I think they even waxed it.
I would recommend them. heck they even have people call to check if you were satisfied with the work done.
Too bad I hit another curb 2 weeks later and ruin my bumper again.
