Apria is the worst company to deal with. The people who answer the phone are not only hard to understand, but they are also rude. It is impossible to get supplies from them. Take your business elsewhere.

Very bad customer service. takes way to long to get supplies… when supplies finely did arrive they were wrong and. Had to reorder. Dr sent order
to them and I went back to Dr. at Mayo clinic they put on wrong hose and 1 setting wrong .no confidence…

Some of the worst service I experienced. I guess you can get away with this level of customer service when the customer is held captive by insurance companies and their non competitive in plan cohorts.

If I could this company zero stars I would! They are horrible, my son got a feeding pump through them for 2 ½ years now and I had to switch companies due to our insurance changing and I am so happy I switched to a different company. The customer service is disgustingly horrible. I will never go back to this company EVER, i will never to be recommending this company EVER!
I was told my new enteral company that I owned the pump, I had a box shown up at my door today with NO paperwork and NO phone call. They are HORRENDOUS!!!

Tried calling this office twice. on hold for forty minutes on both occasions. I hung up and called apriadirect. Canceled my order for cpap machine. Going with Merit Sleep Technology. …way better service, at the very least they answer the phone.

Ditto to all previous reviews. Zero stars if I could. I placed an order for CPAP supplies three months ago and am still getting the run around. Employees, if you get to talk to one, are not at all helpful and uninformed. You wait on hold forever and then get cut off or the person you finally get is clueless. Worst company I have ever dealt with.

This is one of those companies where you wish there was a «Zero Stars» option. Rather than bore the reader with a long, epic-​like diatribe of the odyssey of the journey of dealing with their customer service reps, I invite potential victims, (oops, I meant customers) to call the (866) 838‑4762 number and suffer through the long hold times, only to (at last!) connect with one of their passive-​aggressive Ernestines in customer service (Is this the party to whom I am speaking?) Ugh. Waste of time. I know another medical supply company that will remain unnamed (but starts with Edge and ends with a word that rhymes with «lark») has a fairly miserable rating, but go there first because — trust me on this — they are nothing like Apria in terms of poor quality customer service.

This place is a joke! Service couldn’t be worse. And Lashika couldn’t care less. What a farce.

If I could give this company LESS than 1 star — I would.
After 3 and a half WEEKS of run-​around trying to get a new APAP machine from Apria through my Medicare, I gave up on depending on Apria’s staff to be competent in their jobs and their in-​office communication.
Apria made NUMEROUS requests from my ENT doctor for more information, documentation, office notes, face-​to-​face visit notes, compliance notes, sleep study documentation, and at least 5 requests to have my doctor rewrite the prescription for the new APAP machine he prescribed. EACH time, the representative I spoke with said that the request would be «the last thing they needed to get me the new APAP machine.»
The in-​office communication at Apria is like dealing with chimpanzees running a switchboard. I had been transferred to a department that supposedly handles CPAP orders only to be told that because I was a new customer requesting a machine and supplies for the first time that I was talking to the wrong person and then was transferred BACK to the person who had JUST transferred me – to be told that no, she transferred me to the right department and to explain to them why I needed to speak with them. Look, lady — it is not MY job as a patient to do your freaking job as a healthcare representative! Clearly they don’t know WTF departments handle *what* at APRIA!
I finally gave up working with APRIA. I literally drove over to their office in Naperville IN PERSON and told them to remove me as a patient from their databases and that I had better not receive ANY billing charges for *anything* as no order for any equipment was placed.
After this aggravating mess — I switched to a different local company. A 5-​minute conversation with their rep after faxing over my info and giving them my Medicare and Medicaid insurance info — I was told that I am not ELIGIBLE for a new CPAP or AUTO-​PAP (APAP) machine yet! Not *once* was I told after this run-​around that I could not even *get* a new APAP machine because I received my current (broken) CPAP machine through Medicaid — and because Medicaid is still my SECONDARY insurance and because my current broken machine is not 5 years old — Medicare will not cover the new APAP machine because with Medicaid as my secondary insurance it will show in records that my current broken CPAP machine is under 5 yrs. old! I had to find out this information through a different company I am now working with in my area! After nearly 4 WEEKS of run-​around from Apria, I find out I cannot even *get* a new APAP machine yet.
Apria doesn’t know their arse from a hole in the wall when it comes to handling the influx of patients who have Medicare since they won the bid for being the primary company in the area who handles Medicare patients. And Gods forbid you’re a patient with duel-​eligibility like myself that has medicare as her primary insurance with Medicaid as a secondary! Gods help you if you pose something like being a duel-​eligible patient. It just might make their heads explode!
ALL that time during the run-​around from Apria I was told I would be getting the new APAP machine «if I … just got more office-​visit notes, documentation, a rewritten prescription from the doctor which meets their specifications, give a pint of blood or sacrificed my first-​born» — or whatever the hell ELSE they asked for on a near-​daily basis to complete the order!
During this whole headache — not ONCE was I told that they’d have to send in the machine to the company to have it fixed and give me a loner machine in interim because of my duel-​eligibility status! I finally told them to stuff it and found a different supplier in my area that has a contract covering Medicare patients (after the big Medicare CPAP supplier contract fiasco) in my area.
Thing is, apparently since APRIA won the bid to handle Medicare patients, I have to get approval from my ENT doctor for the new company (LinCare) I am now working with (who also is approved to take Medicare patients) to take me on as a new patient. These supply companies have their hands so far up the doctor’s arses that as a Medicare patient, you have to get APPROVAL from your doctor to use another company instead of the primary one that has the contract to handle Medicare patients in your area!
Bottom line: If you can avoid using Apria Healthcare — DO IT. Find a different company in your area and get it approved by your doctor to SWITCH to that company. I would rather have a root canal than deal with the unrelenting migraine that is trying to deal with Apria!

Worst customer service ever! I called and needed a water heater for my CPAP machine stat. I was told they would see if it was available and order it for me. I was told a customer service rep would call me back and let me know.
5 days later no contact from APRIA so I called again. The girl told me there was no record of me calling and the item was not ordered. WHAT??? She asked if I wanted her to order it? Well duh! I am so frustrated with this place. I cannot sleep without the use of my CPAP machine and right now my order is in limbo. I have no idea if it got ordered or when I will receive the CPAP heater. If I could give them zero stars I would!
Another thing about APRIA is they won’t send you a receipt for your payment so you can file it for income tax. I requested one and the guy said oh we don’t send out bills they want you to pay upfront and then send you no paperwork or confirmation that you actually paid… with the payment amount listed. What a terrible company!
Update: I have now been told 3 times they would order the unit

Worst company to deal with in the medical home supply industry. IF, and that’s a big IF, you are actually able to get a hold of somebody on the phone they are incompetent. I finally had to resort to having to go through my doctor to even get anything accomplished. I’ve sat on hold for 15 – 30 min every time I call before I finally hang up. This happens at any time during the day as well. They are terrible with processing paperwork and have no sense of urgency. Avoid at all costs! I prefer Walgreens home medical

Absolutely impossible to deal with. If you want to wait on hold for hours and get overcharged at every step, they are your provider of choice. Otherwise, stay away!

If I could rate Apria Zero Stars I would. Over a month ago another DME Provider faxed over the script because that Provider was No Longer in our Network. They said that Apria would contact me. No Phone Call… 3.5 weeks ago I contacted Apria and they sent my call to Customer Service in Schaumburg. I left a voicemail and guess what? No Return Phone Call… Last week I called the Naperville Office again, who gave me the CS Phone Number in Schaumburg and the same person’s extension. Called again… left a message… No Return Phone Call… I then e-​mailed Apria and a nice person said she would have someone in Management, from this area Region, call me. I replied that would be good. Then went through over 300 DME Providers in our network and found another provider, in Lombard, IL, that I have used in Previous Years. Lo and behold… I get a phone call from %##}%^^* in Customer Service today… she starts out” I received a message that you need new CPAP Supplies? «Really? I asked her about the 2 previous messages I had left for her? And then told her I chose another provider. She then starts asking me if the NEW PROVIDER is in network??? I said… I tried to get in contact with you twice in the past 3.5 weeks… Long Pause… Then she says…“I never received any messages from you…“Duh…who did she receive a message from to initiate call today about new supplies? A Ghost? Bad Bad Customer Service in Naperville and Schaumburg… in fact, there is no customer service… I can’t wait for my Apria Management Phone Call… Buyer Beware… it may take some time… but don’t choose this company because their name starts with an «A» and it’s the 1^st Provider you see… believe me… this isn’t the 1^st time we have had problems… a few years ago they didn’t Pre-​Certify the actual purchase of the CPAP machine. Even though they gave me some numbers that they said were the Pre-Authorization…they were not… and our insurance tried to stick us with a Pre-​Authorization Penalty of $ 200. Document Everything…

Nothing good to say about this company. My insurance covers my breast pump for breast feeding. I sent them the prescription order for the pump starting in March of this year, it is now May 6^th 9 days before my due date and I still don’t have this pump. After faxing the order 6 times they finally confirmed they received it. I called on May 1 they told me it shipped, as of today May 6^th nothing delivered. Called to follow up was told it did not ship and that they have a breast pump in the warehouse but they are not sure if it is the right one but they will send it out. I now have a tracking number but we will see if it actually ships this time.
Very frustrating, most of the employees taking calls have bad attitudes and do not want to help you and they operate on a very dated system. Orders can only be faxed and even though you have confirmation it was sent they will tell you they don’t have it. They will not let you email orders, and they do not email the tracking number when your order ships. Not sure why they take your email address it they don’t use it.
Not happy and hoping this breast pump arrive before I go into labor.

This horrible company is to be avoided at all costs. The office staff is incompetent. They lost our doctor’s orders twice. The receptionist hung up on me when I was trying to straighten out a problem that THEY caused. Scheduling an appointment is a joke. They only tell you what day they are coming out to your home and will not tell you what time, expecting you to sit at home and wait for them all day. Even Comcast gives you a time certain timeframe! I was very unimpressed with the respiratory therapist that came to my home. She did a terrible job explaining my infant daughter’s apnea monitor. She left out some key information and the information that she did present was communicated in a very disorganized manner. When she left my husband and I were completely overwhelmed. We ended up reading all the paperwork that came with the apnea monitor ourselves because we had gained nothing from the therapist’s explanation. Apparently their reputation precedes them because when I complained about the experience I had with Apria both the doctor and nurse that we saw at my daughter’s 2 month check-​up stated that they were already aware that this company is terrible and offered their sympathies for having to deal with these people.

When I changed and insurance Jan. of 2011, I had to switch to Apria for my CPAP needs. What a nightmare it has been. I had problems initially and my doctor’s office called the manager to get the issues resolved. When it was time for me (last month) to re-​order my tubes, mask and water chamber, I was sent the WRONG water chamber, sent teh correct mask and tube, but no headgear which is also suppose to be replaced. I went in person to Apria to see Kathy about my heater as I didn’t feel it was working properly and she said I should have gotten the headgear, so she would order it for me. This was a month ago, and still no head gear, EVERN AFTER following up with Kathy once again on the phone. This place stinks and should not be in the medical indsutry. I am escalating my complaints to the corporate office and my insurance company as I am tired of the slackers at Apria

Our twin daughters had to be sent home from the hospital on pulsox and apnea monitors because they were born at 33 weeks… unfortunately Christ Hospital only deals with Apria Healthcare Services for this type of service. I have nothing good to say about this company from the time that they were put on the equipment at the hospital until present day. The monitors have been nothing but problems for our family and the company pretty much shrugs their shoulders about it. While in the hospital, the monitors would constantly go off, which minds you sounds like a smoke detector, and disrupt all of the other babies in the NICU and regular nursery, seeing how our daughters had been in both places over the course of a month in the hospital.
When they came home, life became very difficult because the monitors would go off again without anything being wrong with the babies, the data downloads that they take from the monitors prove that previous statement as well. We would call for more supplies and they would take 3 days to get, I would think that something of this nature would have a 24 hour answering service because of the «importance» of the situation. The receptionist hung up on my wife because my wife was trying to explain to her what was going on with the machines, tried interrupting my wife, not letting my wife finish what she was saying, never yelling once or raising her voice at the receptionist. Then the topper of them all… yesterday, they come out to do what could be the final download of data for our daughters and somehow from our home to the office, one of our daughters information gets completely deleted and Paul in the office tells my wife that this never happens and he can’t understand how it did happen… I can, they are all incompetent people! So now because of this, there is a chance that our daughters might have to be on these monitors for another week or month even… they have been on them for 2 months already.
I advise that whoever has to deal with this company be very cautious and don’t trust them… worst company I have ever had to deal with!
