History

Established in 2006.

The Meritage Resort is situated at the southern tip of the Napa Valley and the vision of the owners was to create a triple indulgence of food, wine and relaxation. Our location is convenient to both Napa and Sonoma Counties, close to golf and the Carneros Region of Napa Valley. The Estate Cave was created to house the Trinitas Tasting Room, Spa Terra and the Entertainment Cave with seating for up to 200 guests. Situated on the hillside that houses the cave are 11 acres of vineyards and walking paths with sweeping views of Napa and the surrounding hills.

In April 2012, the expansion was completed adding the total number of guest rooms to 322. Other additions included: Crush Ultra Lounge (featuring 6 luxury bowling lanes), Blend Café, two more outdoor event terraces, a 7,500 sq. ft ballroom and much, much more.

In early 2014 the original 157 guestrooms were refurbished, along with the Meritage Grand Salon, and Lobby.

As many times as my wife and I have stayed at the Meritage Resort it gets hard to call out nothing but exemplary service! This weekend getaway has started in typical fashion, where the employees here went above and beyond and demonstrated 5 Star Service! Patricia and Fiona ensured our reservation and requests were made all possible at every turn! Kudos to these ladies for once again exceeding our greatest expectations! Thank you to Michael and Evan and the entire management and front desk team for once again making our experience truly unforgettable!

My husband and I stayed here for our 1 year engagement anniversary and had the best time. Conveniently located right in between Sonoma and Napa, it is right off the freeway and main road but its nice and quiet.
Our room overlooked the vineyards so we set our alarm to get up for the sunrise. We ordered room service and enjoyed a breakfast on our balcony in bathrobes looking at the vineyards. The bed was humongous and the room was really spacious.
The best part about the Meritage is that it is an all in one kind of spot. You don’t have to go anywhere. They have walking paths through the vineyards, a wine cave, a wine tasting room, a gorgeous pool, cozy outdoor fires, a bar that is open late (well late for Napa), a bowling alley, and pool tables. It was fun to just hang out on the campus.

On the surface the place is pretty nice i.e. kitchen, furniture, bedding, gym etc. But considering how many people they employ and how expensive everything is the customer service is horrendous. Last time I stayed both times I scheduled for housekeeping they no showed and I had to call to reschedule. When I called in to the front desk or housekeeper the phone just rings… If your filthy rich go for it but if not find a better way to spend your money.

We got room 237 with a balcony facing the cave with a late check out. The view of the cave and the vines were beautiful. We were surprise when we saw a welcoming on the front desk congratulating us for our 19th anniversary. I recommend the amore couples massage, but my favorite was the facial. Bring your bathing suit if your shy and don’t wanna be naked in front of the lady’s when you get in the sauna. Everyone was very nice and welcoming. What we didn’t like was the bed, too soft for an injured back, but if you like soft beds it’s no problem and, also the wine tasting in the cave wasn’t a good experience, the girl seem like she didn’t want us to be the there and the short time we were there she was very distracted and not helpful at all, when we ask her to give us the same bottle of wine we had in our room, she told us to order it from our room, she could have offered us something similar or better. The room service was very fast and delicious.

Pros:
Rooms are clean, modern and well done with all the amenities of a newer hotel. Beds were plush and comfy.
Pricing is very affordable at $ 360 a night. They threw in an $ 80 room credit and bottle of wine.
Front desk staff was personable and knowledgeable.
Cons:
Room service shuts down at 11pm on a Sunday. For this size and standard of a resort it seems odd.
Valet staff was rude. Young guys so I cut them some slack, but poorly trained.
Forgot items on our room service order.
Nice place, but I’m lying here in bed typing, hungry and unimpressed.

The Resort is quite lovely.
We enjoyed dinner at the hotel’s restaurant: Siena.
Frankly, I was dressed a little too casually for dinner, however, you would not have noticed it as the server (thanks Cameron!!) treated us like VIPs. Cameron thoroughly explained the special and answered all our questions.
My partner had the pork chop. It was huge and perfectly prepared. I had the chicken, which was very tender and tasty.
If you’re staying at the resort, I’d recommend having a meal at Siena.

Beautiful hotel that sits on a winery. You get a free bottle of wine in your room when you check in. They had my heart there. The service was amazing. They have great recommendations and several onsite bars and even a wine tasting room. The room was clean and quiet. The only thing I would change is the bathroom doors on the room. Make them solid so the light doesn’t brighten the whole room. I can’t wait to come back!

Nice place to stay if you are visiting Napa and are bringing your dog. They have plush dog beds and include dog dishes and a bag of treats and baggies. Our room was very clean and comfortable for both ourselves and our puppy. From our patio we had a lovely view overlooking a vineyard. There is also a spa «the cave» which is also a wonderful place to retreat for a relaxing massage and pampering.

We arrived at this hotel with a group of 18 for a birthday. We picked this hotel because our group was headed out wine tasting all day, dinner at night & then we could come back & hang out at their hotel bar/​bowling alley thats open until 1:00am. Since there isn’t much nightlife in Napa, that seemed like the right fit for our group. When we arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff. Our upgraded room was just ok, looked much bigger in the pictures. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to us, when we came back from dinner, the bar/​bowling alley was rented out to a company function. HUGE BUMMER! We planned this for months, it was my 40th birthday & we have 18 friends there :((So we had to wait until 11:00PM when the company party was over. By then many friends were tired & went to bed. Thats my only complaint. The staff were all very friendly and the price was right.

I was here all last week for a 2016 company kick-​off and it was amazing how they were able to accommodate 200 people for an entire week. The service was great, beds extremely comfortable and food very good. What sucked was that I was stuck in meetings all week and with sunset coming at around 4:30, never got a chance to run around the property (mornings were spend extremely hungover). I think I saw 10% of what the property has to offer and that sucked for me. I would go back.

Was here for a function and was able to get a discounted rate. The hotel and location is nice, with a beautiful view (if you have the right room). However there are several things that would make me not stay here if it wasn’t for the discounted rate. First off the door to the toilet and shower wouldn’t close properly, which was minor. The two bigger issues were that there was ZERO hot water, barely luke warm in the shower and every time the heater turned on it sounded like a jet taking off.

I have absolutely 0 complaints about my stay at this wonderful resort! The staff here is so well trained, attentive, polite, accommodating, I mean all the words you want to use to describe a great resort experience, you’ll use them here! From the second we pulled up our bellhop/​valet Joseph was extremely kind, offered suggestions for dinner, was interested to ask where we were from, what we were celebrating and you can tell he was genuine about it. Amber at the front desk was very kind and easy to work with as well. My wife had left her ID back home in Florida and we had it shipped to the resort which worked out perfectly. Complimentary champagne and wine in the room for our honeymoon was a great touch and very much enjoyed! The bowling alley was a great touch on cold nights, the food in the restaurant where the bowling alley is (forgot the name) is great as well and the bar scene gets fun but not crowded at night.
Edit: I forgot to mention we got couples mud baths and massages in the caves beneath the vineyards and it was absolutely incredible! Honestly one of the top 2 massages I’ve ever had in my life, #1 was Bora Bora so it’s stiff competition! All in all I just can’t say enough about my stay here. Thank you!

We had a great time here. My boyfriend took me here for my bday. We checked in and went wine tasting around Silverado trail. When we came back the had cave tasting which was really cool and good restaurant where we had dinner at. This hotel/​spa is huge. They have a great pool area and bunch of sitting places with cozy fires and cute hang out areas.
After dinner we went to their lounge bar. It has bowling, billiard and TV’s. It looked like a huge sports bar. We played some games and had fun. The hotel is really big so you will walk kind of far to get to your room.
Room was spacious and nicely decorated. The style is traditional with dark tone wood and stone floors. The grout lines need some cleaning but overall the room was clean. They gave us 2 free bottled waters which was nice.
The next day we walked around the property and discovered there is a huge area at the top where they can host big parties or weddings. The cave is also very large and can host conventions and weddings. The spa looked amazing although we didn’t try it.
I would highly recommend this place and the restaurant has very good olive/​mayo dipping sauce. It was so good I asked for few to go home with. Yum!

Teetering between a three and four star.
I booked an extended room with double queens for some friends and I as we had planned an overnight in Napa after a day of massages at Spa Terra (highly recommended!) and dinner at Morimoto.
The facility was nice. Kept grounds, our rooms were clean with a small shaded, I guess what you can call a «patio». Yes, the location is nearby some business parks but you already know it is it not located in downtown Napa so not sure what the complainers were expecting. I did think the booking agent overstated the room and the view the patio’d rooms would have as he’d informed we’d have either a view of the pool or the vineyard. We were on the first floor and we had no such thing. Instead, we had a view of a wall adjacent to a drive way nearby the spa entrance. It also didn’t feel very secure or private since the area got heavy foot traffic from the workers and those driving on the resort grounds in the carts.
The room was nothing fancy but besides the view we had no real complaints. The weekend we visited was during one of the heatwaves. I was glad to have retreated to our AC’d rooms which worked without a hitch that night and into the cool, comfy bed. Bathroom had plenty of shelf space and shower/​tub was fine.
The hotel books rather fast so don’t expect to be able to check in early as the hotel appeared to be full the weekend we stayed.
Not sure if the rooms are worth their rates however I would return if I was to book it at a reduced rate.

My friend treated me to a massage at the spa here. It looks like a cave when you walk in, and right away they offered me a complimentary glass of bubbly. They have full amenities, steam room, sauna, and you can take advantage of their pool after your spa service.
After hanging at the pool with adult beverage, we headed to Crush Lounge for lunch. Lunch was just OK, but they have a bowling alley inside the restaurant! This would be a great place to stay with children as well.

Great hotel! My friend booked us a room on Priceline and got it for about $ 200 less than the going rate. I recommend trying to get a room that way, cause this place is PRICEY!
When we arrived our room was not ready, but they were super nice and accommodating, asked if we wanted to check our bags, and offered to get us a driver to take us to the wineries. We declined so they said they would call us when the room was ready.
About 3 hours later they called, and we headed over an hour or so after that. We were told that they have a free shuttle to take us into downtown if we wanted to get dinner, and they offered to make dinner reservations for us. They informed us that our room would have a free bottle of wine and bottled water. They also said they have a library of DVD’s and if we wanted to watch one, they would bring it up to the room with fresh popcorn for us. How nice!
The room was great. Very spacious and the beds were comfy. The bathroom was very nice. My friend went down and used the hot tub and said the pool area was great. Before we headed out to dinner we walked around the property a little and came across their lounge, which was like a bar/​club with a bowling alley! We didn’t take advantage of that, but it’s cool that they have it.
Parking was never an issue, and had it been, they have free valet. I would definitely stay here again if the price was right!

Came here for a wedding and it was beautiful, pricey, and very much worth the costs incurred for visiting.
The hotel itself is a rather long building with a main lobby, and a sprawling vineyard behind it. The lounge/​pool area is in the central local to the guest rooms, providing great sunlight and a great view of the wine country around the property.
As I mentioned, we were here for a wedding and wanted a pre-​game drink before the ceremony, but 2 drinks costed us $ 34! I was shocked. Thankfully the rest of the wedding was an open bar, so we got to drink as much as we could then call an Über to come pick us up and take us back to our hotel in Vallejo.
The «Cave» where the reception was held, was cute, but the sound during the speeches could have used some help… because it is a curved ceiling and the room is in the shape of an H, we had a hard time hearing much of the speaking, but it was nice.
Food was okay. Wedding food can be sometime hit or miss, and my lady got the Chicken and I had the Beef, which was just really a pot-​roast. I wished I went with the chicken! (and also wished they gave To-​Go-​boxes!)
I’d love to come back and stay, go wine tasting and such!

Great venue for getaway with the girls or your SO. A bit pricey, but that’s what you pay for being in Napa/​Wine Country!
I was actually a bit discontent with how the pool was set up – there was no signage, but love the fact that you can bring your dogs into the pool area. We sat under the cabana and they were charging $ 75 for 3 hours without any notice… how were we supposed to know???
