Spa Terra at The Meritage Resort

Probably one of my least favorite SPA’s traveled in the USA no Amenities to speak of a hot tub and non Working Sauna & three showers. The Brochure made it look like a resort but what you don’t see is the Industrial Park right across the street. Marketing team at its best! Vacation spot with Children in the Gym but our Bartender Kevin was the best you deserve four Stars. I Don’t think I would ever revisit.

I booked the forever friend package which included a scrub, massage, champagne, cheese and crackers. That I think is an amazing deal. You get the full well deserved spa feel.
I enjoyed the scrub, my cousin and I were in the same room. You have an option to have separate rooms too. The room was nicely dimmed and soft music played. Since I’ve gotten a scrub, I simple refuse to get another massage without it. It makes your relaxation even more rewarding.
The jacuzzi is big, the Steam room is like any other. Finishing the experience with a cold shower. Bliss. Thanks spa Terra. I will be back soon!

Hands down the nicest spa I’ve ever been to! I loved how the spa itself felt like it was in a cave and underground which it technically was. The facilities were impeccably clean, and wonderfully decorated.
As soon as we checked in, we were walked back into the spa and were shown where the locker room was. We were provided a locker, very comfy robe, and slippers. The locker room had a jacuzzi and steam room, as well as basic toiletries. It was very clean and the locker room attendant was very attentive.
I got a 50 minute massage with a scalp treatment added on. My masseuse Miguel, was excellent. He paid special attention to my problem areas and did a really great job. The beds were very comfortable and warm and I absolutely loved the warm pillow.
I took full advantage of the steam room, jacuzzi, and shower, which had overhead and side jets.
I would highly recommend this spa!!!

Pros: Probably the ULTIMATE spa experience!!! Wow, this place does it all! You get your little locker to suit up with your robe and slippers. The men’s room has all the amenities you could possibly need from combs to hair spray to mouth wash. The shower is simply mind blowing. Water is literally hitting you from the top and from three other directions around you! Craziness. I hit up the steam room that’s big enough to have a little dance party or sleep in. Their cucumber water is delicious as I relaxed and took a little nap before my massage appointment. You can check in and use the hot tub before your massage. Then my wife and I went to our private hot tub here they have some chocolates and champagne as you chill in their bubble tub for 30 minutes. Then the massage girls come in and do their amazing magic with a 50 minute body massage… heavenly. There are also snacks like trail mix and apples too! The inside of the private room looks like something you see in League of Assassins (reference from «The Arrow») inside a cave with little candles… pretty cool.
Cons: Because this is the ultimate spa experience, you pay a high premium for this place… almost $ 200 a person after gratuity and tax.
Overall: Treat yourself to the ultimate lapse of luxury and go for this amazing experience!

I recently came to this resort to celebrate a friends birthday, and its safe to say that I love this place! Ive been to many different spas throughout the country, and this place lives up to their reviews. Definitely one of my favorite spots. The steam room was amazing, the cave setting was so relaxing, my massage was great, and we really enjoyed popping champagne in the hot tub! Also, the front desk staff made sure to store our suitcases for us safely in the back during our spa day. That was so nice of them considering we didn’t have room for our stuff in the lockers. The bathroom attendants are so sweet to. Ill definitely be back in the summer to enjoy the pool, check out crush lounge and to do some wine tasting on the property. My friend definitely had a great birthday getaway. :)

Yes people you get a massage in a cave! How cool is that? I’m big on massages and this place takes the cake. Great way to impress or do something romantic for that special someone. I had a couples massage (seduction package) and it was bliss! You get what you pay for!

Birthday celebration is here ! Place is pretty pricey but much more affordable if you consider the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley, ca.
Cost: $ 162 for the 50min «spa terra» massage with aromatherapy ($ 15 extra) gratuity is included at 20% (equaled $ 27)
Ambiance: the cave is nice. Tables with water and pitchers (apples as well) line the tunnels. The serenity room was comfortable and spacious. Wish I would have utilized it during my stay. The room includes light refreshments
Bathrooms: clean and spacious. Great amenities including a pool and sauna. Lockers include robes and slippers .
Attendants: pretty kind. I think we had 1 who wasn’t used to orienting customers because it seems pretty hectic at first, and they made it seem as if I needed to wait outside the serenity room 5 minutes before my scheduled time. However this wasn’t the case :-(
Massage: I had Manuel and I enjoyed him ! The massage included a warm compress for your back and foot wrap. I appreciated the small touches such as laying the robe over the Table for me so I could reach it easier at the conclusion of my massage. Also, laying a towel on the floor and making sure my slippers were present so I wouldn’t have to search for them. I’ve had chatty people so I appreciate having someone who allows you to enjoy the massage !

Spa Terra ended up meeting and then exceeding many of my expectations. I loved the unique cave location and facilities and amenities had a luxurious appeal that one would expect at a higher end spa. It beat Burke Williams hands down in my opinion.
Firstly, it helped that the place is not crowded (despite that it was a weekend) which helps ensuring a more pleasant experience. We (six of us) had the spa room and the eucalyptus steam room to ourselves for quite some time, and the locker room or showers weren’t overfilled with other guests.
I had the 50 minute hot stone massage. Along with the hot stone they introduced a cold stone which gave a refreshing feeling (and relief) as it was quite a hot day in Napa. The dimly lit room with the soothing music was pleasant and my massage therapist was everything one can hope for.
The only thing that is lacking on their service is that you cannot always reach a live person over the phone, even outside of standard lunch hours. It appears this is pretty constant since I am seeing many reviews mentioning the same and so perhaps Spa Terra’s preferred method of communication is via email as I’ve found they were very responsive this way.
My friends, many who have never been here before or have ever heard of Spa Terra were equally as impressed and agreed would come back. I’d personally love to come back with my husband for a couples massage.

This place cost an arm and a leg– and it was SO worth it!
I rarely say that since the service rarely is up to par on what you dished out for but I did the couple’s clay massage here and it was quite the treat. The spa itself is in a cave, shared with their actual wine cave next door which can host events and another shop. It was a bit tough to find since it was so unassuming and not widely displayed with just a simple Spa Terra name on the glass door. But once you get in; you are just in the front waiting room to be pampered.
They don’t have extensive snacks but plenty of ice-​cold water and really nice folks inside attending to you to make sure you enjoy your time here. It is intimate and while it was big– I appreciate them spacing out appointments so it doesn’t feel like you’re in a high school locker room during PE. Great ambiance too, so quiet and the dripping waterfall everywhere really makes it tranquil, you lose tracker of time. Oh– and another side-​effect that is much appreciated of the fact you are in a cave means there is no service and you won’t have cell-​phone reception. So nobody is on their phones, no ringing or vibrating of cell phones and adds to the rustic feel.
They do have an awesome sauna and awesome hot tub, the sauna /​steam room was not very warm at all to me personally, I’ve been in much hotter so would have appreciated it if it was temperature-​wise more warm. The hot tub was very nice though. The bathroom is very well appointed with all the stuff you would need including mouth wash, cologne, hair spray, combs, etc.
The actual clay treatment was a treat. The whole process was well thought out and it felt nice and long and not rushed. The two folks helping us out were very nice and considerate and had amazing hands and touch knowing what to do– this was my first but not last clay treatment. I felt incredible after, not sure about how it drenched out my toxicities and how antioxidating it was, etc. but it was definitely a unique experience.
Such a great little place; good for couples for sure.

My mother and I have enjoyed relaxing services here before as well as my extended family who frequent this place. It’s a shame that I have to write this poor review today.
Yesterday, 9/​13, my mother and my extended family enjoyed an overnight getaway and they booked 4 spa services at Spa Terra. The 80-​min Collection Facial (includes an extensive massage — according to the website) was booked in advanced as that is the service my mom wanted and expected. Upon arrival, she was told by two employees of Spa Terra that there is not a facial that includes a massage service. Instead of my mother engaging in a word joust with employees who obviously are not aware of all services posted and offered on the company website that they work for, she settled for the 50-​min facial the employees insisted that they only offer.
Obviously, there is a serious disconnect here. Either the employees are unaware of all services offered and advertised on the website and require training or they blatantly lied to repeat customers about services offered. Either way, this issue needs to be addressed if this spa intends to have returning customers.

Overall a nice experience. I had the hot stone massage, and although I’ve had many other massage experiences this was my first time getting a hot stone massage. I definitely enjoyed my massage and the amenities and all the staff were friendly.
Couple things:
— you lose reception in the cave. Which is good and bad, I mean you should be relaxing off your devices anyways, but it’s something to consider if you’re expecting a call or need to be reached for an emergency
— there’s a wine bar across the hall you can to wine taste in your robe, which is what my girl and I did.
— I wish they had an indoor pool, but alas the only pool was the resort’s outdoor one
I would come back

Because I offer special presentations at spas around the world, I have had extensive spa experiences. Terra Spa is entirely underground in a man-​made cave offering separate lounges for men and women with lockers and showers. Services are paid in advance and a 20% automatic gratuity is added to your bill. Many expensive treatments are offered, many including elements of grapes, wine, and earth. As far as amenities, Terra Spa only has a steam room and jetted tub, no sauna, with a soothing waterfall wall next to the serenity area. Inside there are only two chairs. Relaxation has to be in the shared quiet area. The spa itself didn’t impress me and I’d give it 3 STARS, but the massage therapist, Manuel, was phenomenal. He deserves 5 STARS. In a 50-​minute Terra massage, he was able to innately know exactly what muscle groups to target. He used warm towels, heating blankets, and essential oils as he worked his professional magic. Definitely ask for Manuel when you visit. Make reservations in advance as massages at Terra Spa are popular not only with tourists and guests, but with locals.

I’ll preface this review with a concession that my massage was pretty good and the facilities are really nice. Aside from this, my experience with Spa Terra was awful. They hardly ever answer the phone or return calls so booking a treatment was almost impossible. In fact, I actually had to come in person just to book my treatments. The girls at the front desk are rude and incompetent, arguing with me when I came in person to book my treatment that they had answered the phone and made my reservation but then couldn’t find it. The spa manager offered champagne and a discount for the nightmare of booking, which I appreciated but did not make the best first impression.
On the day of our massage everything went according to plan except our massage therapists forgot the scalp treatments we paid for. We left the resort and never received a call or any follow up from the spa manager about this mix up. I decided to call back and at least get the scalp treatments refunded but once again the morons at the front desk couldn’t be bothered to answer the phone and when I finally got through to someone they told me the manager would call me back. I then asked «when because getting in touch has been pretty difficult» to which I got a curt «well this is a busy day spa so it’ll be whenever she gets a chance».
I called the Meritage front desk and spoke to a guest relations manager who was able to refund my scalp treatment for me. A few days later I finally got a call back from Ruby, the spa manager, who just asked me how my treatment was. ARGH! This woman and her team are totally clueless! I’m not coming back any time soon and with the number of really nice day spas around the Napa Valley will not be referring anybody here either.

My husband and I are timeshare holders and we come here every so often to get away. One thing we love is getting massages. We come here like everyone else, to unwind and chill.
PROS: It’s located underground, surroundings are beautiful, lockers, steam, jacuzzi, showers, nice amenities. I had my deep tissue massage done by «Jackie».AMAZING I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!
CONS: Tho, it never fails when you get a group of women who starts yakking it up! Rude, annoying and respectful. There is a SIGN idiots!
But I digress, it’s still a lovely place and the staff are A plus.

Fairly good, but a bit pricey. If you’re willing to drop some $$ this place is worth checking out. I really liked my masseuse – she applied just the right amount of pressure for my deep tissue massage! (unfortunately, I forgot her name!)
Love, love the cave! The cave is something I would bring friends and family back to see. Great amenities in the spa-​check it out!

This place is pretty good. The jacuzzi and the steam room are the only amenities but the quiet room is a nice place to relax. The ladies in the front were kinda tense for working at a spa and did not seem they liked their jobs.
They collect 20% mandatory gratuity on all services upfront when you pay for your service, which I thought was tacky but made it easier so we didn’t tip more or need to use cash. So if you’re treating someone, you’ll be expected to pay the tip too.
The product pushing was not too bad but the I didn’t really like the thickness of the lotions/​sunscreens or the smell. I had the 25 minute facial express facial, which is really a 20 minute facial since they get to the quiet room to pick you up at your time or a couple minutes late then they interview you about your skin and it takes another few minutes to get situated but they end RIGHT at the 25 minute mark even if they came a minute or two late.
I probably would go to Burke Williams on Santana Row instead to relax and use a spa. But this is a good place to go in Napa with friends.
And contrary to the spa’s comment below, the tacky mandatory gratuity charge is NOT the industry standard at better spas like Burke Williams, spas in Vegas or any Korean spas in New York, Bay Area or LA.

This place left me in a trance!!!
When you think of a spa you think, massage, facial, soothing sound smell and appearance. This place has it all and more! Not only is it located in an underground cave… this tunnel like setting gives you such peace away from the outside world! You step into the cave and there are 3 sets of double doors! Straight ahead is thee door that leads to where most will host their parties, events and weddings. To the right you have their wine cellars where you can conduct your wine tasting and spoil your taste buds. To the left is their spa… Aww yes, the place that takes all your stress and bullshit and disposes them through the gentle touch of another human being!
When you enter this enchanting place, you start into the locker rooms where you change out into a robe and slippers. Your given your own locker and within the locker room you have all the necessary amenities that will freshen you up before and after your visit. There is a huge steam room, a nice lounge area with a waterfall wall, a jacuzzi, several stalls and showers and plenty of space to move around! After you leave the locker room, you then head into a waiting area where you and your guest await your masseuse. From their, they will come escort you into a quiet, lightly dimmed, light sense of aroma, calm vibration of sound filling the air to carry your senses into a place of peace…
I had a Jennifer Cortez whom had soft hands that glided up and down my body slowly releasing any and every tension in my body. I almost fell asleep! It was so peaceful!!! She hit all the right spots I think my girlfriend got jealous! Yikes!!! I left her presence feeling as if I just committed adultery lol! Anyway, on to the facial…
I went in for my first facial here. This was quite the experience as it was my first time. The lady whom did my facial was very knowledgable about her products! Her hands were gentle and soothing… That is until she started taking out my black heads!!! Ouch! This is not pleasant at all! I get it though, beauty sometimes comes with pain! But damn… This felt as if I was being poked in the face with a needle repeatedly! Didn’t really care too much for the facial however my face did leave feeling young again!
Overall, this place gave me exactly what I wanted and needed! I wanted to feel rejuvenated and stress free! To walk in as the angry green giant also known as the hulk and leave as a teddy bear! This place was amazing and I would recommend this place to anyone needing that escape into a land of peace!

My mom, sister, and I come here every November to celebrate my mom’s birthday. Here is why we come here year after year (it’s been about 4 years):
— Having an appointment for a service means you have access to their spa facilities all day long. We typically get here 60 – 90 minutes before our service and soak in the hot tub or enjoy the steam room for a while. Unlike other spa hot tubs, this one is always hot! I’ve been to other spas where they charge extra to use the hot tub, or the hot tub is located right at the center of the place, so it gets loud. At Spa Terra, the women’s spa (which can seat about 8 people comfortably) is located in the back of the women’s locker room, where it’s quiet and tranquil. The steam room is also hot and is actually quite big … It can probably fit 20 people!
— Their «serenity room» is truly relaxing. It’s always quiet enough for a brief nap. They even provide blankets. The chairs are comfortable, and there always seems to be one available.
— The bathroom and showers are always clean, and they have thought of every product you might need.
— The availability of cucumber water, iced tea, hot tea, fresh apples, and trail mix are a nice touch.
— The staff is always friendly and patient. Whether it’s the front desk, the ladies who keep the towels fresh, the massage therapist, or the esthetician, everyone I have met is very professional.
— The underground cave is pretty cool! No cell service, but you shouldn’t be on your devices anyways!
— All services are consistently good. I’ve gotten both massages and facials here and had good experiences with both. The rooms are clean, the music is soft, and the lighting is just right.
— Prices are high, but they accept the Spa Finder gift card. So stop at your nearest Costco to pick those up first ($ 79 for $ 100 in gift cards). The gratuity can’t come off the gift card, though. They automatically put a 20% gratuity to your bill, which in my opinion, makes it easier!

Being the first spa that I have ever attended in my life, I was in total awe when I walked into this beautiful underground gem. I’m almost positive that it’s going to be hard to beat this. Literally everything about it was perfect.
I made reservations with my two cousins for a 50-​minute facial and I couldn’t be any happier with the services.
When we first walked in the concierge gave us a quick tour of the spa and all of it’s amenities which was definitely helpful. They offered a comfortable robe and sandals just in case you didn’t come prepared, as well as lockers. They had the cutest vanities with hair brushes, hair spray, hair ties, tampons, q-​tips, pretty much everything a woman needs lol. Everything was very neat and tidy which made me feel very comfortable since I’m a germaphobe lol. They have private showers and changing rooms.
The jacuzzi and steam room part of the spa was simply beautiful. What stood out to me was that they had water and cucumber water available throughout the whole spa which was really nice!
My facial was simply fantastic. They wrapped my feet with warm towels and she gave me a brief foot massage which was a plus! She knew exactly what she was doing and make my face look automatically much better. She even gave me tips on what I should do to better take care of my facial skin.
I can’t wait to return to this beautiful spa!!!

This place looks so beautiful and I have heard great things about this place, but their concierge is HORRIBLE!
I have been trying to purchase a gift certificate but the concierge is not very helpful in this process. They wanted me to send them a credit card authorization form but their fax machine wasn’t answering & they weren’t answering their phones! Then I was told that once they received & processed it via snail mail that the gift certificate would be sent to me via UPS which I would have to pay for! Or it would be at the concierge for the recipient to pick-​up. Uhhh this is a gift.
THANK YOU FOR BEING NO HELP AND WASTING MY TIME! I will let everyone I know know how unhelpful concierge here is! Service is so important and you FAIL!
