PF Wine Tours

We toured with Massie today. I learned much about wine! We had such a good time. Massie picked us up at our hotel and proceeded to take us to 4 winery’s, each of them had a different approach and something new to add to our experience! It was a perfect selection of wineries. Massi and his wife, Anja, completely planned our day. Thanks to them for making out trip memorable :)

What first drew us to PF Wine Tours is that they can drive your rental car — it makes so much sense — if you’re paying for a rental anyway, they can legally drive it for you, at a lesser rate than a guide driving their own car! (which they can do if you don’t have a car) And boy, did Anja and Massi give us the royal treatment — excellent recommendations, both are friendly and informative to talk with and spend the day with! They first give you a questionnaire and gear their customized tour based on what you tell them. They’re also flexible, and are very well-​versed in the area and all that it offers. Anja is organized, thorough, and funny! Massi is a delight as well, and as a former chef from Italy, is great to talk to about food :) Our two days with them were excellent, and we feel they gave us over-&-above the typical tour.

PF wine tours made our first trip to Napa/​Sonoma this past November great! We loved that PF wine tours was family owned and not a large corporation. My husband and I didn’t even bother researching other tour companies because we knew PF wine tours was the best fit for us. They allowed us to have a private tour that wouldn’t break the bank. Researching wineries was daunting but the owners, Anjanette and Massi, made this task simple. By choosing PF wine tours, we felt like we got to see many of the wineries that we thought were hidden gems. This also meant the wineries we visited were personalized for us instead of a group of random people.
We picked the designated driver option because we had a rental car and that meant we could spend more money on wine! If you plan to visit multiple wineries during your visit, we highly recommend that you have a driver. Massi was our driver and it felt like he was a good friend during our 2 wine-​tasting days (one day in Sonoma and one day in Napa). Massi met us at our hotel each morning around 9:30 AM and then we went on our day. He showed us where the tasting was and then would go wait for us. If we had an appointment, he would tell us what time to meet him and if we were running behind (which is easy to do), he would come get us. It was a pleasure talking to Massi about wine, food, travels, and life. Massi always had water for us and made sure we stopped somewhere to grab lunch. Since we tried to maximize our wine tastings, we ate lunch in the car one day driving from winery to winery and had a picnic another day at a winery.
My husband and I will use PF wine tours again and will be recommending them to our friends. If you choose PF wine tours, you will not be disappointed. Both Anjanette and Massi were excellent to work with.

I highly recommend PF Tours for your next trip to Napa. We’ve been to Napa a few times and were looking to just hire a driver and they offer a designated driver option, which worked out perfect for us. Anjanette was great in finding out what our interests were and helped coordinate our day. Massi was our driver, and was at our hotel 10 minutes early. We had a wonderful day and really enjoyed the wineries we visited as well as our time in the car with Massi. He has a lot of knowledge about the wineries, wine and good food. Very laid-​back personality which makes you feel like you’ve known him for a while. He also made sure we stayed hydrated which we truly appreciated. We will be back next year, and look forward to using PF tours again.

Let me first start off by saying that I try my best to be a constructively critical reviewer. Since I, like so many of you who are reading this review want to make sure that the time and money spent will yield a memorable experience. With that being said, let me break down our time with PF wine tours.
The process started off by calling Anjanette (one of the owners and a military veteran as well) who asked an assortment of questions to help understand what we were hoping to do on our trip to Napa in December of 2014. After talking to her and a few other competitors, it was clear that this was a family-​run business that was honest in their pricing and was proud to offer a guarantee for their service. She promptly sent us an email that would help her to understand the wineries we wanted to visit as well as others that she recommended. They have personally toured countless wineries in Napa and have a real down-​to-​earth passion for wine. Anjanette then emailed us an itinerary of our trip with some flexible options during a few of the days. She did a great job listening to our thoughts, making recommendations, putting it all together in an itinerary and then making reservations at the wineries where needed (some were harder to get into than others).
We were informed by Anjanette that her husband Massi (the other owner of this family run business) would be driving us all three days. The first day he arrived early to the Hyatt Andaz (where we were staying) and texted us letting us know that he was ready whenever we were. When we met Massi, it was like meeting an old friend that you had not seen in a long time. His Italian charm matched with his knowledge of living in Napa for over 10 years served him well throughout our 3 days with him. I was impressed by both Massi’s local knowledge and knowledge of wine. As we drove, he pointed out areas, fun facts, or shared his personal experiences and recommendations. While Anjanette did a great job putting together an itinerary for us it would be a great add to have the stops listed on a piece of paper with a map of where we were going that day. Since this was a private tour that would have been a nice custom touch in order that we might better understand the lay of the land and have something to take back with us to remember our time. Massi took pictures and was always mindful of what we needed for an experience that we would look back on.
On the second day with Massi, we had some friends join us who were in town at the same time (for a toal of four people). Massi was early again and the SUV was clean and ready for us to board. One of my few critiques is that it would be nice to have a few complimentary snacks to enjoy between tastings to cleanse the pallet and fill the stomach. We had a wonderful time that day exploring and enjoying cave tours that had been arranged or wineries that were hidden gems off the beaten path. Massi also helped us out by getting us lunch while we were on longer tours and making great recommendations for dinner that night during lunch.
The third day was the same as the first two. It was a great time! Massi was also flexible to what we wanted to do and was sensitive to how much time we had with him and was happy to extend time with him if necessary. My point in saying this is that he was focused on the experience, not charging us for 15 extra minutes if we went over our allotted time. Each day of the trip we went to 4 – 5 wineries and we never once felt rushed. The most difficult part of the third day was leaving. We had a great time and gained a friend in Massi. Little did we know that he would become one of the highlights to our trip to Napa.
We used PF wine tours for all three days of our trip and it was one of the best decisions that we could have made. We plan on going back to Napa and are no longer interested in looking for another company. PF wine tours is exactly what we are looking for and cannot recommend it to anyone reading this review enough.

Awesome guide, Massi you rock! This was our first trip to Napa, though we have been to Sonoma and live in Central Cal so no stranger to wine tasting. I spoke with Anja when I booked the drive and let her know what we were looking for. There is so much more than you can do in one trip but she asked the right questions and within a few days of our trip we had an itinerary ready to go. Massi picked us up and we were off. He was a great guide and took care of us the whole day with tips and trivia and stories — wow what fun! We had some extra time between appointments and he helped us find a couple of small wineries that we would have never have found without him. We had a fantastic time and came home with some great wines. He delivered us to our hotel door safe and sound at the end of the day. We even picked up some meats and cheeses from a local deli during our journey so just had snacks and some of our new wine for dinner in our room that night. A fantastic experience! We will be back and will call you guys when we do!

Great service start to finish. Anja designed the perfect blend of off the beaten path, down to earth, interesting, and not «BIG TIME-​Y» wineries for our group. They were flexible, communicative, and Masi was awesome! We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend them to anyone on a corporate trip who wants to have fun and are looking for something different.

I recently went to Napa with my Mother for a last minute Mother/​Daughter weekend and we did a day of tours with P&F Wine Tours. They were amazing! I cannot begin to even explain what a great experience we had. Anjanette was so easy and great to work with on planning the trip. We told her the types of wines we wanted and certain wineries to visit and she set it all up for us. She was even able to get us a last minute reservation at Schramsberg. The entire process of booking the tours with Anjanette was so effortless that I would not want to do it any other way.
Once in town, we met up with Massi early in the morning in downtown Napa. We chose do have him drive our car since we had a big SUV and thought it would be most comfortable for all of us. We ended up visiting four different wineries and had time to stop off and grab lunch. Massi was so nice and intelligible about the area and different wineries.
Overall, we loved our day with P&F Wine Tours and will definitely be using them again on our next trip to Napa! If you are going to Napa you should definitely book with them.

I been wine tasting in Napa many times and I have to say that our tour with PF was the best ever. As with everyone, we started with Anja. I felt she really listened to me as far as what we were looking for. The list of wineries she sent us with great descriptions of them was fun for us to read thru and choose from and super accurate! After we sent our choices, she did the rest and we had the best day ever! (They will take ur answers and make ur itinerary without u having to choose for those who dont have the time-​trust Anja, u can’t go wrong!)
Massi ended up driving and he was so fun and knowledgeable-​there when we needed himnfor pics, etc. and left us alone when we wanted– somehow he just knew…
PERFECT, AMAZING from beginning to end. Aweaome customer service and got us into great boutiques where we met the owner and bm places we would never have found on our own.
Defintely, finally after so many times comimg out to Napa, found our go-​to company from now on. I would never use anyone else.

I just wanted to write you and tell you that my wife and i had an amazing time while in Napa. Jewelyanne was AWESOME! She was so much fun, and really knew the what she was talking about. We had such an amazing time, it was the highlight of our honeymoon.

I was a reluctant wine tour participant. My friends planned it with Anja & Massi, and I went along even though I have been on a couple of previous tours and found them kind of boring. AND I don’t even like wine much.
Anja was FABULOUS! She took us to the most interesting (and beautiful) places — or else she just has a great information delivery style! She had us relaxed, laughing, and I even found myself actually interested in the wines, the wineries, the people etc.
Funny, I am even enjoying wine more after this.
This is the ONLY wine tour company I’ll ever use.

I t was our first time in Napa and we had no idea what to do or where to go. Anja walked us through every step and made amazing recommendations on wineries and places to eat and go. Spencer and Anja really made our experience! We had so much fun, loved everywhere we went and enjoyed both days we got to spend with PF Wine Tours! We WILL be back and we WILL use PF again! This tour saved my BEHIND!!! I called them on a last minute time schedule less than 18 hours before we actually did the tour. I called Anja and she reassured me that a great day could be done. She gave me a choice of her planning the trip with extra choices and fun stops as well as her overrated spots. We trusted her and she delivered. We spent the whole day with her and went to about 6 wineries. She told us that we shouldn’t be pressured to buying a bottle unless we knew for sure we loved it. So we ended up tasting all the places and went back to the one we absolutely loved and bought a bottle. She is well known in all the wineries and people welcome you as friends instead of clients. She is very passionate about wine and customer service! She is very open minded and if you are not pleased with the smallest detail, tell her and she will fix it ASAP! She also knows how to save you money! She had us download an app that we’re giving g two for one tastings! That seriously saved my pockets! And trust me, her rates are among the most competitive.
Note: they give you the choice to use your car or their own car. I used a rent a car and she drove it with care the whole day. She also offers a pick up from a ferry incase you don’t have a car and visiting San Fran! That way you don’t have to keep tabs on your drinking!!!
You only get one first impression and it was the best for me. Trust.

Great Day! We used Anja and Massi to help plan a birthday wine tour of Napa. Anja sent us many recommended wineries and we picked from her list. Massi, her husband was our driver. We really got to discover wineries that were unique. Private, intimate tours that only someone who knows Napa could arrange. Worth every penny and would use them again!

AMAZING TOUR. My friends and I used Anja & Massi for our 2 day wine tour to & from San Francisco to Napa. After contacting several companies, I decided on PF Wine Tours because of Anja’s passion for wine & eagerness to help. Now I’m so thankful because that was CLEARLY a good decision! They went up and above to get our group of 11 a vehicle that worked for us! They planned two days of amazing wines that met our taste preferences and each winery was an amazing experience. Every single person on our tour repetitively thanked me after the trip for the amazing time they had in Napa. I even had a friend of mine rave about Anja & Massi to another person the day we got back… and they called me on the spot to get all of their contact info for their trip later this month!
Long story short… Best decision ever to use PF Wine Tours! They took away all my stress when it came to planning a wine trip for 11 people that are not always easy to please!

My wife and I, along with another couple, just spent 3 incredible days touring Napa and Sonoma with PF Wine Tours. Anja and Massi, the proprietors of PF Wine Tours, were highly recommended to us by close friends who raved about their experience. We are forever grateful for their advice.
Weeks before our trip, I coordinated the logistics over the phone with Anja. She was extremely thorough, asking several questions to ensure the trip was perfectly suited to our tastes. As wine amateurs on our first trip to Napa, this was a tremendous help in narrowing down the overwhelming vineyard options.
By the time we landed in wine country, they had planned an incredible tour perfectly tailored to our personalities and preferences. Using their connections, several one on one, private tours were scheduled at wineries we never would have experienced otherwise. These tours were, by far, our favorite.
Massi was our driver for all 3 days and he is a true renaissance man. Originally from Florence, Massi is extremely knowledgeable about all wine types, the history of the region, and the wine making process. He shared unique stories about each wineries origin as well as personal experiences and recipes. Massi was great fun — very warm and engaging. He enjoyed hearing our reactions as much as we enjoyed tasting all the wines. He was very punctual and made sure we made all of our appointments on time. If we had downtime, he would take us somewhere off the beaten path and share an interesting story about what he was showing us. PF’s recommendations for both dinner and lunch were also spot on, and they even went as far as making a reservation for us!
Anja and Massi made our trip unforgettable. We definitely plan to come back to wine country but wouldn’t think of doing it without first calling PF and scheduling their services. Great company, better people.

My fiancé and I recently visited Napa and had the best day! Anjanette was extremely helpful both before and during the trip — providing a detailed itinerary in advance, which was perfect for first-​timers. It’s clear she knows her stuff and wants to ensure you have a day that fits your needs, style and budget. On the tour, she was super laid back, friendly and informative — and since she knows the ins-​and-​outs of several top vineyards, she may be able to get you into places you otherwise couldn’t.
I would highly recommend PF Tours to anyone who wants a fun, off-​the-​beaten path experience; a personalized itinerary; and importantly, a trusty driver (trust me, you will need it!).

I will give the positives first: Anjanette did have knowledge of several wineries and made some recommendations. Our first stop was a reservation she made for us at Mumm. We forgot our 2 for 1 and she found an app that had a lot of discounts for local wineries and saved us $ 25 off the bat! The rest of the tour was a build as you go tour that led us to George Henry for a great mini-​cave tour and tasting along side the coolest black short-​hair cat ever! (We have the coolest black long-​hair cat. I need to make the distinction in case he reads this review). Next we went to Sterling on the woman’s suggestion from George Henry. We got a gondola ride up to a more corporate feeling and established winery, but all the pourers were very friendly and happy to see us. After that, Anjanette took us to one of her personal favorites, Lava Vine winery. There were a couple laid back guys there that were very cool and helpful. This was definitely a perfect contrast to big old Sterling. It was a very limited run winery. Finally, we found one last 2 for 1 tasting place on the way back. At this point, we were drinking wine for wine’s sake and the generous pours helped the evening fog roll in — to our heads! We grabbed some Thai on the way back to our room and overall we had a fantastic day of wine tasting in the Napa Valley.
On the negative (but not too negative) side, though it was private, our driver has a strong, dominant personality. She is really friendly but makes it pretty obvious that she is trying to make her presence know to the wineries. Obviously, everyone needs to support one another to make the system work, but there are more tactful ways to do that, such as a more «behind the scenes» approach. Examples included joining us for the cave portion of George Henry where she interrupted our guide with a handful of questions and at Lava Vine when she questioned why another tour company was there. She saved it with a compliment about them, but it was just a little awkward. In addition, she did not plan a lunch for herself so she had to go to town while we were at a winery to get herself some lunch. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning to anyone who may be weird about their car leaving their side or if you weren’t feeling a good vibe at that particular wine tasting experience, you could be stuck waiting.
All in all it was a great experience. Keep track of your time (we went from 5 hours to seven in a blink!), try to have some wineries in mind — though Anjanette has been to many wineries, we found ourselves plotting the course as we went — and do a little research. We would use her services again, but we would do it more strategically next time! The app was great for a couple 2-​for-​1 tastings. Just ask Anjanette and she’ll get it for you!

My friend and I visited Napa for a weekend and took an afternoon touring wine country with Anjanette from PF Wine Tours. It was a great success:
Anjanette was an excellent Napa driver and tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable and personable, she listened to our ideas about how we wanted to spend our day in Napa… and then she created an itinerary to suit. Anjanette was flexible with our needs and accommodated all our requests. She is excellent with communication and easy to get hold of by email or cell. Her keen interest in wine and wine country inspires her tours and, as we drove about Napa Valley, she shared a great deal of information on the area, the wineries and on Californian wine production, in general. During our aternoon together, we got to visit 3 fantastic and different wineries. Mostly, Anjanette was well known at the wineries and we were looked after very well when she introduced us.
If you are looking for an easy wine country tour at a nice pace, with local knowledge, convenience and efficiency, I can recommend PF Wine Tours.

These guys were great. I had no idea which wineries to go to except maybe Robert Mondavi and the one Francis Ford Coppola owns. When I called and made the reservation, Angeanette asked me some very specific questions. I left our itinerary up to her and she got us an awesome day.
We did not have to do anything but show up-​our itinerary and reservations were made and we did not have to wait anywhere, not even at Cakebread on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend!
Plus we were taken to a small, family boutique winery that had a great view and apparently, the only winery in Napa that does not charge tasting fees (they request not to be named publicly) and another with the most amazing tour and amazing views without as high as the usual Napa pricetag.
All I can say is I will use PF Wine Tours later this summer when I come out again and each time after that. I give them my highest recommendation.
