Description

Specialties

Providing fun, fitness and community, High Water Stand Up Paddle is Napa Valley’s source for all things stand up paddle. We pride ourselves in being the most safe and informed SUP outfitters in town and offer a complete, innovative and enjoyable paddling curriculum on the Napa River. Check us out for SUP board rentals, lessons, PaddleFit & SUPYoga classes and group paddles. Service to the community and the environment are our core values, as we are dedicated to building a community of like minded individuals who wish to enjoy and protect the Napa River through the sport of stand up paddle boarding.

Encompassing approximately 55 miles, the Napa River is one of the most underutilized and under appreciated rivers in the North Bay. What most do not know is that it offers a quiet, scenic setting, with warmer weather than you will find anywhere else on the water this close to San Francisco.

Stand up paddle boarding is one of the fastest growing water sports around and a great way to exercise, learn about the river and to meet other SUP enthusiasts. High Water Stand Up Paddle encourages you to come out, have fun and get a great workout while connecting with our local watershed.

History

Established in 2014.

High Water Stand Up Paddle was created out of our head coach Heather Bailie’s passion for being on the water and staying fit. Growing up along the shores of California, water was always a part of Bailie’s life. She grew up surfing, swimming and boating in Southern California. In 2004, while living in Santa Cruz, she was first introduced to the sport of stand up paddling.

A career in the restaurant industry brought Bailie inland to Napa, Ca. where the closest surf break is 45 minutes away. Yearning to be back on a board and back on the water, Bailie tested the waters of her own backyard, the Napa River. Impressed by the paddling conditions and the opportunity to be active on the water again, she began regularly stand up paddle boarding the Napa River in 2012. Since then, her fondness of the Napa River has grown and she wishes to share her enthusiasm for the sport and the Napa River through providing SUP lessons, classes, rentals and organizing group paddles and river clean-ups.
