Beau Wine Tours & Limousine Service

Thanks to the generosity of a good friend, I was privileged to experience a Napa Wine tour on New Year’s Day 2016 with friends.
Our driver was great, on time, and completely hospitable. The SUV was comfortable, and immaculate. And while we were kept on time, we never felt pressured to rush. Not only that but our driver was very knowledgeable and provided us with many facts about wine, wine making, and the Napa Valley.
He even took us on a quick detour to get some photos of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Our team planned a big wine trip as our Holiday party this year. We were a big group (15), so securing transport was challenging. After calling up a couple of locations, Beau had the best value and service of anyone I reached out to. Our whole team had an amazing time and everything worked out perfectly. Vijay, our driver, was incredible and was so attentive and helpful though the entire day — from calling up our wineries to give them our ETA to helping us secure a last minute reservation after one of our wineries fell through. We were a large party, so it was no small feat! He was great and I couldn’t have asked for a better trip and driver. I’ve done a couple of tours before and Beau was by far and away the most pleasant, easy and fun experience I’ve had! Would recommend to everyone!

I was wanting to do something special for my five year anniversary and so I booked a private limo tour as a surprise to my boyfriend. Christopher helped me plan the day’s itinerary, taking note that I wanted tastings that were more intimate. He did amazing recommending the JCB Lounge and Humanitas. With some many wineries in Napa, it was nice to have a guide really try their best to take care of you. He even booked us a table at Morimoto’s. I felt like he really listened and did his best to make it a special day for us.
The day of, Mitchell our driver arrived on time and I loved his happy attitude. The limo was full of water and had a bottle of JCB sparkling wine. We took longer at the first tasting and were rushing to lunch but he already had it covered and let the restaurant know we were running late. He didn’t mind being our photographer and even brought us to a cutesy spot up a hill to take a picture. Mitchell was a total sweetheart. I would definitely call on Beau next time I’m looking for a limo service.

Just used Beau for the first time this past weekend for a wine tour. The service was unparalleled. I called a month or so in advance and advised which wineries we were interested in, and Beau took care of all of the bookings, including our lunch reservation! Our driver, Ryan, was knowledgable and SUPER nice, and gave us tons of information about Napa/​Sonoma. He was also an excellent driver. In all, we had a blast. We will definitely use Beau again on our next trip to the wine country!!!

My girlfriend and I go in a Napa trip every year. The past few years we have used Platypus Tours. This year we decided to try Beau. Needless to say we will be booking Beau from now on. The bus alone sold us and the luncheon far exceeded Platypus. Our driver Michael was excellent. We went to Hess, Black Stallion, Rutherford Ranch and Elizabeth Spencer. I can’t wait til next year!!!

On Nov. 8, 2015, Donald Buxton with Beau Wine Tours provided round trip transportation for our group of twenty-​two from Yountville to Pier 3 on the Embarcadero in San Francisco for a Hornblower Champagne Brunch Cruise, and everything went off without a hitch. Donald showed up early and was efficient in getting us to our destination on time. That, and friendly service — thanks, Don, much appreciated!

We had a disappointing experience with Beau. We booked a car to take us to three wineries, including lunch. Our emphasis was to be on Napa red wines.
The first stop was perfect. The winery was an outstanding choice — wines of very high quality presented by knowledgeable and interested staff. A great morning.
The second stop was to include lunch. Instead, it was a «food pairing experience» which provided five tiny food tastes to go with the selected wines. In total, the tastes did not add up to an hor d’oeuvre much less a lunch. Also, the vineyard had relocated only a few years ago, so they hoped to be able to produce estate-​quality wines in a few more years. In the meanwhile, they were focused on «the experience» until their wines improved. Obviously not at all what we were looking for on either count.
The third stop was a winery that had nothing whatsoever set up for us — they didn’t even know we were coming. Apparently they told Beau that we didn’t need a reservation for a basic tasting. The wines available to taste at the «no appointment» tasting were not at all what we were looking for — we tried one or two to be sure we weren’t missing a hidden gem, and then left.
The driver took us across the road to a fourth stop in an effort to make up for the problems at the second and third wineries. We appreciated his efforts, and the fourth winery did have some interesting choices worth investigating.
Bottom line: the exceptional experience at the first winery made the day worthwhile overall, and the driver was pleasant and enjoyable. Based on Beau’s reputation, though, we had expected better.

We had such a wonderful experience! Frank was so kind and very knowledgable, we definitely recommend their services and will be utilizing them again when we visit in the near future!

I arranged a Beau wine country limo tour for my husband and 6 of our friends to celebrate our 29^th wedding anniversary. We don’t use a limo service regularly but are fairly well traveled and recognize quality service and experiences. In other words, we have high expectations! With Beau Limo Service we were NOT disappointed!
Christopher, one of Beau concierges, helped me choose and book the wine tasting and tours, the refreshments for the limo and the private dining experience at B Cellars in. The entire day was AMAZING!
Our driver, Donald, was great. He was on time, friendly and very accommodating. A real pro. He made sure we were always comfortable and on time to our reservations. The wonderful catered plates Beau supplied for the limo were delicious and plentiful. They even had vegan selections for our vegan friends. We especially enjoyed the Gloria Ferrer Sparkling wines in the limo!
One of my husband’s favorite wineries is Silver Oaks in Oakville. Christopher arranged a private tour and tasting with them which was fantastic. Angela, the wine guide was so professional and knowledgeable and we were just so pleased with the wines as well as the entire experience there. Just a lovely place.
We were also looking for a lunch venue and Christopher suggested the Chef’s Garden Pairing luncheon at B Cellars. B Cellars is not a restaurant but offers some private chef food experiences. We had a wonderful tour of the winery and their caves with our wine guide, Erin, who then introduced us to our chef. He gave us a tour of the vegetable and fruit gardens. All of their fruits and veggies are grow on site. Then we started on the food experience, which was OUTSTANDING! Our group was given a lovely private dining room that had large windows overlooking the garden/​vineyards. Erin spent time explaining how each course was paired with each wine but was not intrusive and answered all our questions thoroughly. We learned a lot! We loved all the wines and food and Erin and the staff’s service was just great. We never felt rushed or pressured to buy any wines either. But we did!
I HIGHLY recommend both the Silver Oaks and B Cellar experiences. Especially since they are so close to each other.
Donald took us to one more winery that day and then all back home to the East Bay. He was more than happy to accommodate our longer than planned day.
Beau Limos made us feel like we received really top notch attention and service.
We thank them so much for their guidance and recommendations and making this happen for us.

Eran Glago was the driver of a 12 person sprinter limo (we had 11 people) It was perfect. He was a polite and charming driver. I highly recommend.

Beau is the service you will want to use to plan your special trip to the wine country. Just the wife and I for our anniversary. The Driver Hoss was a delight and very professional. The concierge Elizabeth hit it on the mark with what we were looking for with regards to wineries and dinner. We will be using them again! TYhis was a private wine tour.

A friend from overseas was coming to visit for a week and her #1 request was getting to see Napa. I spent a fair amount of time researching wine tour options, as my wife and I have been on another one in Napa that we enjoyed but at a premium cost. I know Napa isn’t cheap so I was looking for something of fair value and still with an interesting offering of destinations. Eventually I settled on Beau based on cost, website and Unilocal reviews.
The cost was reasonable and we ended up in a gorgeous bus/​limo, much nicer than expected. 5+ stars for being «upgraded.
Our driver Jay was ever-​so-​friendly and attentive. He called the night before to confirm and notify us of a schedule change that meant we had to leave home an hour earlier, which was a bit of a bummer but c’est la vie. We spent the first hour and half driving from one end of the valley to the other in order to pick up everyone. I guess that was a lot of time wasted minus the fact that Jay provided unlimited champagne and water. That made the trip bearable and we got to know our companions. On the flip side, it took 90+ minutes to drop everyone off again and since we were at the opposite end of the valley, that was a lot of time riding in the back of the bus, getting back notably later than expected.
When it came to the choice of wineries, this is where my review has to dip. I was impressed with the wineries visited on my first Napa tour. This time they were hit and miss.
The first winery was fantastic and exactly what one expects when they think Napa; a great tasting session with a good host. It was already lunch-​time by the time we got there so we had a picnic lunch afterward. The picnic style lunch is standard on these tours and it’s very average but for the price paid, I wouldn’t expect more.
The second winery experience was the worst of the trip and it kicked off in a strange way. Jay took us to a tremendously commercial winery that I had heard of and never tried since it seemed to me of the mass-​production style (they probably even offer boxed-​wine). The grounds indicated as much; gorgeous in an over-​the-​top fashion, and about as far from «boutique» as can be.
In a day of otherwise phenomenal service, Jay dropped the ball here and Jay, please take this with the compliment that you did everything else remarkably. However, when dropping us at this winery, after having had a well-​coordinated and directed experience at the first one, Jay led us to a building, told us to «go in the door» and see you back here in an hour.
The woman in the building didn’t know why we were there and was even a bit snooty at our oblivion and difficulty explaining why we thought she would have been expecting us. Apparently we weren’t there on a scheduled anything. Unlike the last place which was well organized and explained, we looked like fools trying to figure out what we were «supposed» to do. Turns out was a «do it yourself» stop but we had no idea!
To Jay’s credit, he was superb at everything else. Every time we got back in the bus the glasses had been cleaned and beverages re-​stocked. I really couldn’t complain at all so we found this to be a 1-​time transgression.
The tastings at this winery cost almost double what they are at most places. I skipped them completely and I don’t typically skip tastings. My wife and friend split a tasting and said it was 100% forgettable.
The third winery was the best of the tour; quaint and boutique with good wines and lovely proprietors. Nothing but rave reviews.
But then the fourth one seemed like a complete throw-​away. It was smack in the center of downtown Yountville; somewhere we could get to on our own, killing the point of having a paid tour. Plus, it seemed like a mix of everything I don’t like about Napa — pretension, high-​brow, silver-​spoon. It’s now more-​or-​less run by the son of a wealthy family and was all about how great they were, they have the best everything, I could give a…
I truly didn’t care for 2 of the 5 wines tasted there; I actually poured them over to my wife, who did enjoy them (something I have a hard time admitting because it goes against the core of my being).
To top it off, the presenter asked me to pay for our tastings twice. Hey, mistakes happen, it just made the last few minutes there awkward.
So there you have it; with 2 great wineries and 2 forgettable ones, I have to rank this tour at 3-​star. Jay helps to push it to the higher-​end of that rating; you’ll have a good time with him and we did enjoy the day overall.

Napa is expensive. Get used to it and get a driver. Beau tours was professional, thoughtful, and allowed us to get our drink on. (In the classiest of ways, of course).
Our day started out as we waited in the lobby watching limos pick couples up, myself wondering if my friend who booked our tour booked something as fancy and private. apparently, I wondered out loud because she asked me if we were made of money (no) and are we fancy (sometimes). We would be sharing a bus with an unknown amount of people.
Here’s a hint BUS FOR THE WIN. We ended up with only six of us on the tour, and the bus was basically a limo you could simply walk into, instead of crawl. WAY BETTER. Our driver also poured us champagne as we got in, so as my friend has proved multiple times in our storied friendship — she did her research and got it so right.
Our driver texted us that he would be 15 minutes late, and you know what? He pulled up EXACTLY 15 minutes after we got the text. And that was the only thing that went off track the entire day. No joke, the rest went so smoothly and wonderfully.
He said he wanted to get to four vineyards, and was flexible with which ones. He asked for the group’s input and one couple wanted to try an organic vineyard. With that he dropped us at the first place and disappeared until it was time to leave.
When he got back, he told us that he had found an organic vineyard, and we would go there on our third stop. He said he noticed we all jumped at the chance to do the first tasting outside, so asked us if we wanted to go to a winery that did tastings in the same way. I think that was really observant and thoughtful.
The rest of the day is a blur of great wine, getting to know our fellow passengers, a great lunch, beautiful views, and buying way too much wine. Beau Tours made it possible!

When we started looking of a tour of Napa we had no idea who to select. You don’t have that problem. Just select Beau Wine Tours. This is the place.
First of all, this review is for the private wine tour, which includes a professional driver and vehicle as well as the assistance of a concierge to help you set up the tastings. This is a highly personal experience. It can be a review of the wine business, a buying trip for august vintages from small producers, an opportunity to meet new friends, or in our case all of the above.
I do not have language adequate to properly describe the «tour» my wife and I experienced with Beau. We do a great many private tours of historic areas, museums, restaurants and the like. We have long since learned that you find the most expert and professional organization, describe your interests and let them plan the days. That is what we did. We asked for an «insiders tour» of Napa, with buying opportunities for great wines. We indicated that we were dedicated foodies, and enthusiastic amateurs with regard to wine.
Christopher Scott, a native of the Napa region, was our concierge. I will never ask for anyone else. He sent us to nine small producers (we asked for places where owners might be present and willing to talk about the business, but where the wine would be particularly good). We discovered the most amazing sub-​culture of fine wines from small producers, almost none in distribution, but all of the most extraordinary layers and complexity, and all accessible from to our palates. We came to the experience not liking Chardonnay. We bought cases of beautiful Chardonnay in the style of white burgundy. We came wanting more Pinot Noir and found many fine examples, but our cellar is now overflowing with fantastic Cabernets some requiring time, others which a drinkable now but promise more over the next 5 – 15 years.
We learned more in three days than we have in the last three years. We know the types of oak, the grain, the regions of production the toast. We can assess quality with combinations of vintage year (a good wine maker can may great wine in any year, but a good year helps) as well as time in the cask, the bottle etc. We know the economics, the trade offs between the expense of higher quality oak and time in cask. One of the owners took us into their home and walked us through their cellar so that as we build ours we may make the right selections in shelving systems. We were in the homes of several of the small owners, many of whom spent hours with us. This wasn’t a tour, we made new friends.
Our driver Vijay was very knowledgeable as well. He came recently to Beau after several years driving for another tour company (he is a professional and did not criticize his previous employer by name) but wanted to keep doing small tours with appreciative clients. He was low key, highly skilled, friendly, punctual and very solicitous. He was simply one of the best driver/​guides we have ever had. We will be requesting him by name when we return in October.
As to the money. Beau is very up front in their quoting. We requested some food experiences as well. Long Meadow Ranch was excellent, but Arista’s five course lunch with wine parings was sublime. That was, in our opinion a $ 225 meal at a $ 135 a plate, all inclusive. They may increase the price eventually, but you should request it. The car is at a reasonable daily rate, particularly given the quality of the driver, and they will tell you about the tasting fees if they exist. This gives you a budget, but you will be buying some wine if you ask them to pick the places with the good stuff. If you want to see the big wineries that go to distribution, you might get by without buying on the trip, but I would advise going to the places where you can get better wine.
I could go on and on, but this is the place. I would add that the vineyards, including one that we did on our own because we have a relative who knows the owner, all know Beau Wine Tours and respect them as the best in the business. This is the place, spend you money here.

I have contacted Beau Wine Tours twice now to get a quote and both times, I have not heard back from anyone.
The first time I contacted them was by phone. I spoke to a woman who at first was very helpful but ended the conversation with a bit of attitude. She said she would email me a quote based on what we had discussed. Two days later I still had not heard from them.
The second time I used the ‘Request a Quote’ via their website and still have not heard from anyone. They obviously do not want my business.

I booked a tour WAAAAAY in advance and apparently that is not necessary. I did not actually get a final confirmation until the night before our trip which really irritated me. I REALLY wanted to have everything finalized prior to traveling. It was so annoying to be packing and getting ready to leave still trying to figure out what we were doing; especially for the money you spend on a private tour.
Now that my venting is over I can get to the actual service which was AWESOME!!! We had Cary as a driver. I am sure we wore him out but he stuck with us till the end. He was the nicest guy. OMG. We ordered lunch from one of his recommendations. He sneaked off to go pick up lunch while we were at one of the wineries and then he set up a picnic table for us (table cloth, water, fine utensils, plates, etc) to dine outside and enjoy the view. AMAZING!!! He turned around my whole opinion of the service. I would definitely use them again. Thank you Cary!!!
