History
Established in 2013.
We are a franchise of the Kudzu Bakery started in Georgetown, SC by Joey and Stacy Rabon. My husband, Jim Lewis, managed the Pawleys Island location for 10 years prior to opening our new store in Myrtle Beach. We carry and feature all of the Kudzu baked goods you know and love from the other stores such as our famous cheese biscuits, Key Lime pies, and shrimp and corn pies. However we are also focused on incorporating new locally produced foods such as Bertolini’s pasta from Charleston and Larry’s Beans out of Raleigh, NC. We strive to support the local economy and the agricultural community of South Carolina. We hope to continue Kudzu’s original mission of offering you something simply divine for your dinner, dessert, company or party.
Meet the Business Owner
James L.
Business Owner
Jim Lewis has 20+ years experience in the food and hospitality industry. A native from Knoxville, Tennessee, Jim moved to the Lowcountry in 2003 upon marrying Shannon Lewis (née McCreery). Prior to their meeting, he was living and working in the hotel industry in Wilmington, North Carolina. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He was instrumental in establishing the successful Bel Air steakhouse chain in Tennessee. His love and passion for food stems from coming from a foodie family. Owning his own food business was a natural next step and continuing the successful reputation and evolution of the Kudzu brand is what motivates him daily in business operations. Jim also likes to write country music lyrics, walk his dog, Jax, on the beach, and hang out with his goofball wife.
