I have focused the majority of my life training students for any adversity that life presents, not only teaching them to overcome, but to thrive. I pride myself on helping them attain the goals that we develop during their time at Chung’s Black Belt Academy. Some of these students needed the right mentor to show them the potential they possessed, while others needed physical training for mental and physical health. I have taken overweight kids that were bullied and turned them into self-confident children who know, and see, their value and potential. My students have defended this great country overseas while serving in the US Military and they have enforced the law at the Federal and Local levels. I invite you to visit our studio, and take the time to see how we find the warrior within the worrier, and create the self-confident out of the self-conscious.
History
Established in 1987.
We emphasize on Academics because our students are our future and one day they will be CEO’s, teachers, musicians, and future leaders. As such education is important. Tae Kwon Do teaches respect, self-discipline, physical fitness, meditation, hand-eye coordination and more. These skills are invaluable as they grow into adult life. Master Chung and his instructors take a unique approach when teaching their students, helping them translate what they learned in the Dojang (House of Discipline) to their everyday lives. Our students will learn to understand that they are not merely «playing» Tae Kwon Do when they are in the studio. They are not only martial artist while their «jersey» is on. Students learn that they are martial artist and the actions they take have an affect on the world around them, in or out of the studio. They come to realize that they must conduct themselves as martial artists not only when they are in class but especially when they leave.

«Growing up as my dad’s son», everyone assumed I had special treatment or extra training in the arts. When I was successful at tournaments I assumed, «well I’m my dad’s kid aren’t I?» It wasn’t until I grew older and took a step back from competition for awhile to notice my dad treats everyone of his students like his children. In class I was no one special, or maybe I should say we were all special; all equal. I saw how much my father put time into each of the kids and the adults too. He amazed me when he wouldn’t just spend his time with the student who were athletic or naturally gifted, but took more time with those who needed it. if a child struggled he never said «good enough». He made sure that every student was capable of doing what the others were. A lot of students have never had a coach or teacher that dedicated. Many students didn’t have a belief in themselves but my dad gave them something no one else, not even they, could. He gave them someone who did believe in.
