Optimal Air Heating & Air Conditioning

I can’t begin to tell you how glad I am to have found Optimal Air! The furnace stopped working in our rental property. The first company we called was one that we had done business with in the past and was real pleased. The owner had helped us last time, but this time he was hard to reach. The young man who helped us this time, did go out and give a free estimate but said it would be over $ 800 to replace the control panel and that wouldn’t fix the problem for long. He really advised a new system and a new coil for our a/​c. It would run $ 4200. I asked him to check with the owner and see if we could work something out… WE really could NOT afford that. He said he checked with the owner and that was the best they could do. I called another company who is recommended by Costco and they wouldn’t even give me a comparison quote over the phone. They wanted $ 79 just to go look at it, and the $ 79 would only apply to a new system, NOT service. I talked to a friend of mine who recommended Jim from Optimal Air. He came out the very next day I had off. Said he could fix the control panel, needed a part, and that everything else looked good. He went and bought the part and had the furnace working in less than 2 hours. I was in SHOCK. The total repair was around $ 300. I will call Jim for all my Heating and Air needs. He is honest and fair and I completely trust him! Jim I can’t thank you enough…

I’m late to the game here. I didn’t know this company was on Unilocal.I’m extremely happy they are. The owner Jim did a fantastic job! It’s better explained through my Optimal Air story.
I’m not a wealthy man. I do pretty good but my savings and expense money could use work. This scare has truly put me in a better financial light.
«I» being a pretty good airline mechanic, sometimes feel that I can do anything. Well I proved myself correct when I crossed a ground to the wrong wire. I blew out the the relay and transformer going from the thermostat to the main control panel. I called several companies. One sent a guy who spoke almost no English at all. He was Russian. He spent about 2.5 hours on the phone testing several things. He never once looked confident in any answer. From what I could make out, he called out the right parts and said it would cost around $ 800 for parts and installation. He then said that was his best guess but that there could be more depending on what happens after he installs the parts. Needless to say, I had no confidence in his answer.
I called another company. They wouldn’t fix my old unit. They quoted me $ 3000 to replace it. $ 2700 if I did it within a week. I had the money but wasn’t ready to commit yet.
A very good friend referred me to this company. I called and Jim came the very next morning. I told him what I was doing but didn’t tell him what the other companies said. Before I could finish my story (trying to minimize my own faults), he interrupted and immediately told me what I did wrong. He laughed and said not to feel bad because it’s way more common than I could imagine. He made a couple of calls and quoted me $ 150 to replace the parts. But was very clear in explaining why he would think of replacing the unit. He said the model was very old and by installing new parts, the worn out parts that the electricity goes to after the new parts could possibly go bad. Due to the simple fact that they’re worn and aren’t use to the full power of current going through them. Working with electrical myself, it made a lot of sense. I asked for a quote so I could save money up. He told me to give him a day to research the least expensive unit he could find. A quality unit that may not carry a huge expensive name.
I received a call the next afternoon and thought the quote was for just the unit. He had to explain twice that the quote was for everything. I asked for the catch and he just laughed. Still skeptical, I agreed. He called back on Friday and said that for $ 50 more, he recommended a more powerful unit. I agreed. He showed up that SATURDAY and installed a brand new unit for the agreed upon price. He took his time and did an amazing job. Being a mechanic, I can see sloppy work in the details. I was extremely impressed! ! I can’t say that strongly enough.
I won’t say how much I was charged. It was just the heater control unit but feeling very guilty of the cost, I tried to give him a lot more. Thinking that my friend who referred him got me a deal. He laughed again and said he made plenty of money on the deal. That his overhead costs were lower than a lot of companies.
A very long and very true story. Thank you Jim! Your skills and stand up character are very hard to find. I will forever refer you when ever possible.

wow! Hands down THEE best service I have had! I just moved into our house and after a week, our AC started to blow out warm. I called several companies and explained my issue and they wouldnt even give me advice without wanting to charge me. i also called one company and they couldnt get come for another week. I explained to them i have an 8month old and a 2year old and that week in Temecula it was 100 degrees all week. They didnt care. The second one they came and just walked outside and looked at the machine and said it was going to need a whole new unit and gave me a giant bill, when icalled them the next day to do it, they didnt answer and turns out they went on vacation. The same day i called Optimal Air Jim came out I was so pleased! He explained EVERY detail what he was doing and even taught me few things about the air ducts, when to change out and clean certain areas too. He went up into my attic, used all these tools to see how hot the air was going in the vents and how cold they were coming out. Absolutely AMAZINGG job! He gave me an incredible deal gave me an entire new AC unit outside even set up these hinges i can change my air to blow harder upstairs if it still felt warmer upstairs than downstairs. He was extremely knowledgeable and quick with changing out the old unit. Anyone who has a problem with their air must call JIM LAYMON he is by far the best service!
