Love their nachos!!! All the food I’ve tried from here has been good and prices are reasonable. The service is always friendly and I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes for an order… done in or pick up. I would cross town for this taco shop. You won’t be disappointed!

I like their green salsa? Yupp thats it. I tried really really hard to like this place. Its a close walk from work. Its mexican food. what can go wrong? Well for one the prices have gone up… $ 1 or 2 in the 6 months i’ve been here. I ordered a special that were taquitos and i figured the meat would be chicken or shredded beef but i got GROUNDBEEF who does that? Is that even a thing? I ate them, cause I was HANGRY and I didn’t have time to go anywhere else. Thats my fault for assuming what type of meat they were, I will ask from now on. Another time I came for a quesadilla which is like $ 3.50 for just cheese and a tortilla, so I asked them to add chicken now my quesadilla was over $ 7… So $ 4 for meat? I must be cheap cause I told them no thank you… and drove my lazy self to el pollo loco where i got a full meal for $ 5. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me!

Prices went up big-time, I won’t be coming here when I can get an even better burrito or super nachos at Jos Jilbertos down the road forMr nearly the same price. One redeeming thing is their red sauce is good.

Food is OK. If this is local to you, might as well eat here. Its not a place to go to if its out of the way. The girl at the register was unwelcoming. Drinks are ridiculously priced(lrg refill like a $ 1.35). Its a dive, not a good dive. Won’t come here again.

Not much to say about the mediocre and bland food here. It failed to impress, the staff is rude to customers, sadly I see other locations opening up.

This place is a hidden dive. But the food is great! And prices are decent… The guacamole tacos were so yummy! Came with guacamole, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. Bomb diggity! The cheese quesadilla was okay, I probably would not order it again. The employees were a little bit rude though… I asked for vegetation options and she seemed annoyed that I even asked. Then I asked if they could do a soft taco instead of hard, and she said no. Then I said okay so its a fried hard taco, can you just not fry it? And she said oh okay we can do that. We won’t fry it, so it will just be the tortilla. I said that’s fine… That was exactly what I wanted just the corn tortilla. So there was some communication issues because she was impatient. Bit my food came out perfect!!! I would recommend taking it to go maybe because inside isn’t very clean or comfy.

Kotija has the best Mexican food in Murrieta. I cannot eat at any other restaurants that serves Mexican food because Kotija food is so good. I recommend them to all my family and friends.

Kotija is located in a mall area on Murrieta Hot Springs Road between the I-15 and I-215. The Chilaquiles are okay; the best value is on their Rolled Tacos. Others have mentioned the guacamole, which has a creamy consistency to it. I actually appreciate the blend since I prefer sour cream on my food. Service is friendly, but there is no salsa bar and I didn’t see any Taco Tuesday specials posted. Prices are still cheaper than other places and if you’re looking for a California Burrito less than $ 6, you’ll find it here.

My family and I eat here at least once a month, and my kids are obsessed. My sons especially like the refried beans, fresh tasting tortillas and rolled tacos. The staff is always super friendly, the place is comfortable and the food is hot, fresh and very tasty. Is it authentic… no. Is it gourmet… no. I’ve traveled throughout Mexico and my wife is Latin American, so of course I’m partial to more exotic and traditional Mexican food, but this place is not trying to offer up a world class dining experience… it’s a taco shop in Southern California. Some complain about the guac which likely has some sour cream added or the extensive use of of cheddar cheese, but it’s highly decent food, and it’s always hot and tasty. The carne asada is cooked fresh to order, the shrimp plates are amazing, the green sauce is spicy and the beans have good flavor. This is not a high end place, but definitely worth the money.

This little place has friendly service and it a great place to get some authentic mexican food. My favorite is the shreaded beef tacos but I have tried a variety of dishes and have been satisfied with the taste. The place is clean and they offer pics that help those who prefer to visualize their choices. This place is a weekly stop for our family! Prices are reasonable with size of proportions.

A friend and I tried this little taco shop for the first time yesterday. We wanted a quick bite to eat. We ordered the carne asada nachos and rolled tacos. They were both quite delicious. I would eat here again if I am hungry and in the area.

I had a chicken, steak and something that was supposed to be «just like el pastor» tacos. They were much bigger that I expected them to be and loaded with meat. Normaly this would great, but I just wasn’t a big fan the meet. The chicken and steak both lacked flavor and other had way too much.

I always get excited when a new Mexican restaurant opens up in the area. And while the prices at Kotija are EXTREMELY competitive, there are a few other things that are disappointing. For me, guacamole is always a deal breaker… unfortunately, this place has the pastey-looking kind of guac that has sour cream mixed into it… that’s a definite no-no for me. Second… I like options. Your salsa options are red salsa and green salsa… what about some medium pico de gallo or a salsa that’s mild? When I asked the cashier if they had pico on the side, she said«We don’t carry pico de gallo here» as if she was offended I even asked her that??? Anyway, the bottom line is that their prices are crazy cheap… $ 3.84 plus tax for 5 rolled tacos? That’s $ 4.15 after tax! You can’t really complain too much with these kind of prices… introductory or not. They’re on Murrieta Hot Springs in the Richie’s and Starbucks shopping center that’s ridiculous trying to get out of. I’ll have to come back again to see if they’re consistent… their tacos look really good in the photos. Updated review may follow…

This rating is for breakfast only. We’ve only had breakfast here today for the first time, but were impressed, and we are not easily impressed by Mexican food, since it is a staple at home. This is located next door to Richie’s Diner, a favorite place for our family for breakfast but we thought we’d give this a try. Prices are very reasonable. We had the huevos rancheros which had a tasty sauce and eggs were just right, not overcooked or runny. Rice and beans delicious. They serve each plate with a roasted jalapeño, which I love, and it left my tongue burning but it was good. My hubby had the chilaquiles, without the egg. The tortillas were crispy, not soggy, a good thing, and the sauce had a kick to it, another good thing. Place is nice and clean too. Now the negatives: they only serve on foam plates with plastic cutlery and they don’t offer coffee for breakast ??? Thankfully, there is a Starbucks on the premises which will be my first stop next time, I’ll take my own in, as we plan to come back and check out a few more items. Thumbs up! I have pictures of both of our plates, but don’t see the option to upload them.

Anyone who thinks that this is good Mexican food doesn’t know Mexican food. The food is gross, they smother things in bad guacamole, and then cover it in some kind of yellow cheese. Somebody wrote about the menudo being excellent, well if you like cheap canned enchilada sauce with cooked tripe then you’ll love the menudo. I will never go back. Also, this place is expensive for cheap food.
