Tim Vargas is the proud owner of Murphy’s Taxi!

He’s actually the new owner as of Janurary 2015,

Tim is from the Sf bay area and has had a love for the foothills since the first time he spent time up here about 16 years ago! He was a tour guide, chauffeur and transportation mgr. In Los Angeles for 17 years! had a brief stay in valley springs in 2007, Tim has been in the industry of transporting people for 25 years, all over California and the west coast. So come on up and say

hi and ride with us! And stay friendly in the foothills!

Excellent service on a Sunday night from Darcie, who picked us up from Camps Restaurant in Angels Camp and drove us to our house in BLS in Arnold. On time, reasonable price and personable driver. Will definitely use this taxi service again!

I hired Tim for my wedding at my parents’ house in Vallecito, and couldn’t be happier. I wasn’t about to have a big party and then send my out-​of-​town guests back to their rentals in their cars afterward. We booked him for two hours before the wedding and two hours at the end. He picked everybody up at various locations in Murphys, and brought them back at the end of the night. My guests were so grateful, and so was I.
Murphys Taxi fulfills a big need in Calaveras considering the mix of wine tasting and country roads we’ve got going on…

Kris is the best. I set up a time for him to pick us up from Dorrington (about 30 minutes from Murphys) to take us down to Main St for some wine tasting and he was there right on time.
He is extremely friendly, courteous, flexible, and affordable. He checks his prices with any other local services and tries to be cheaper.
Without a doubt, I will use him every time we come back to the area.

At first I was thinking «What in the world can I say about a taxi service»… But then I remembered what a great trip is was :)
We were at a holiday party up near Murphy’s and needed a ride all the way down to Copperopolis — not a quick drive, especially on slick, curvy roads. Kris was there to take us home after a night of wine drinking and provided great conversation along the way. We talked the whole way down the hill and were at home in no time.
Murphys Taxi is filling a really important niche up in these parts — keeping people off the roads after too much delicious, delicious wine… Give them a call and you’ll be taken care of.

kris is amazing!!! 1st of all he put up with 6 crazy ladies going to the reba concert who left the tickets on the bed he had us back to the hotel and the venue within twenty minutes in traffic he was so sweet! then after the night was over he made sure we all got back to the hotel safely!!! then the next morning one of the girls sunglasses were missing and when we called him he reported that the next people turned them in and he would personally deliver them to the stockton area later that day as he was passing by there while traveling with his family that afternoon !!! thats what i call real customer service!!! and just being a great person! thanks a million kris you rock!!!
