History
Established in 1955.
Makris Vision Group has a long history of serving Muncie and the surrounding areas. The medical practice was originally established in 1955 by Dr. Clark to provide patients of all ages with the services they needed for excellent eye health. Dr. Makris partnered with Dr. Clark and purchased the practice in 1993 when Dr. Clark was planning his retirement. Dr. Makris also partnered with Dr. Edler in 1994 and soon renamed the practice Makris Vision Group. Dr. Makris decided to build a new modern facility which was completed in 1995, when he combined both practices into the new facility.
Dr. Makris performed Cataract and other eye surgeries at local hospitals including Ball Memorial, but wanted to improve service to his patients by building a Medicare-certified and accredited surgery center right next door to his Practice. The new Makris Cataract and Laser Surgery Center opened its doors in 2001.
