The food is okay but the service I got here was terrible. The server forgot to get our drinks and didn’t put in our order but that didn’t bother me as much because I’m a server too and I can understand that sometimes you just forget. What bothered me was after my boyfriend gave $ 43.00 for our $ 41.00 meal and told the server to keep the change she brought the change back and confronted us that we didn’t give a big enough tip.(since he was paying I was going to leave the rest of the tip money on the table once we left.) I can understand being upset about getting a not very good tip but I can not believe that she confronted us and argued with us about not tipping as much as she would like. Rudest service I have gotten in my entire life and from one server to another you will make a lot more tips if you don’t argue with your customers over not getting the amount of money you want. Just smile say thank you and complain about them in the back with your coworkers like everyone else.

Delish! We stopped in for lunch after doing the Boeing tour. Opted for the lunch special bento, which was reasonably priced, delicious, and most of all filling! Service was friendly and fast, and we appreciated the green tea included with our meals. I admit, I was in town being a tourist so the likelihood I’ll ever be back is slim, but if I’m ever in the area I will remember this place!

Legit as it gets! Old school charm and flavors, this place hits the spot. We’ve been coming here for over 2yrs now, it’s worth the drive if you enjoy a great homespun flavored restaurant. Jamie will take great care of you in the main part of the restaurant, the Sushi master is in charge of the bar, folks seem to really like him, he’s very professional about doing his craft. Menu has a lot of choices, from combo meals to my fav the Bento box! This is one of the few places that cares about what you eat, did I say their flavors are spot on? Go, enjoy, and thankfully don’t expect Kaiten quality sushi… HA!

A hidden gem! I believe this is the best place in Washington for sushi. The food is always fresh. A great combination of high quality ingredients, authentic style dishes, and friendly staff. Items I order for two: Appetizer– Agedashi tofu Always comes out hot and freshly fried up. Entrees — Tempura Udon Tempura comes out on the side, so it is always crispy and hot. Broth and noodles are fantastic. Sushi– Spicy Scallop roll. Tamago. Tuna roll. Avocado roll. All the seafood is fresh, so nothing will disappoint. The spicy rolls have a great balance. It never overpowers the seafood. Tamago is wonderful! Great texture, semi-sweet. Side note: typically the staff gives us both miso soup and salads for the amount of food ordered. My favorite dish: Jo Chirasi. This dish gets to show off how amazing the seafood is at Sakuma. The rice is always well made. All of the pieces of seafood are cut and layered perfectly. Difficult to not finish this outstanding dish. Come here for sushi. It is the best.

This place was recommended from one of my Japanese friends and it was awesome!!! We tried appetizers, sushi and cooked stuff and were really pleased The staff were nice and friendly as well The only reason why I gave them 4 stars is that they took almost 20min to come to our table… Ppl who walked in after us were served before us The place wasn’t even busy so I don’t know why but it was kinda difficult for us to wait that long especially we had our 11 months old son with us I had to minus a star but the food was great!

This seems to be becoming our go-to sushi place now we live in Mukilteo mainly due to its closeness but also because the quality is good. It’s classic Japanese without the frills but lacks the fun vibe I enjoy with other sushi joints. Chefs are not that interactive but they do put out good food and they have more than the usual standard fayre on the menu. Worthy four stars!

Authentic & Delicious Food in a clean establishment with great service! I had the grilled saba & shrimp tempura! They cooked the saba PERFECTLY! The texture was perfect however a tiny bit bland, but shoyu & a lemon fixed it quickly! The hubby got salt water eel sushi which was on point! I cant recall what the hubby got for his entrée BECAUSEHEDEVOUREDIT so quickly! He was thoroughly pleased! Its a cute & clean authentic japanese restaurant/sushi bar! WEWILLDEFINITELY add this restaurant to our rotation!

The service was great and the staff was friendly. I have tried sushi all over and this was definitely a win. I will be visiting again soon. It’s tucked away and hard to see but don’t pass it by. I would give it 5 stars but I need to go again and try different dishes.

So I discovered this little gem years ago and have rediscovered this place recently after moving out of the area. It is highly recommended by me! I travel to japan quite often on business and the food here is on par with what you get from the«motherland». My japanese coworkers agree as well. Friendly service and it is run by japanese who know their stuff and keep the place clean and inviting. Eat here!

Great service, great healthy food. Love the udon noodles, and the ingredients seem like quality ingredients. The sushi is also terrific. Very fresh and prepared well. The service is efficient, which makes it appealing during lunch break. Although it’s in a strip mall, the atmosphere is ok enough to take a colleague or client /vendor.

The katsu ju is my comfort food whenever I’m feeling down. I miss it tremendously. The people who work here are some of the nicest I’ve ever met. I’ve been a regular of this restaurant for over a decade and a half, and not once was the service or quality of the food below anything but excellent. I highly recommend Sakuma to anyone who likes Japanese food. Sakuma is an institution in Mukilteo!

This and Oshima, in Everett, are my favorite sushi places near Lynnwood. Sakuma is a bit pricey, but the fish is almost always good. Great atmosphere and service, though a bit slow if it’s busy.

First time here, I was looking for something close to work and found this little place. I decided to try the tofu sukiyaki, though I’d never tried sukiyaki before. I was not disappointed. I do love udon noodles and whatever the little clear noodles were were good too. Very tasty. Will visit again.

Had the spicy scallop roll, salmon sushi and grilled squid. The sushi was very fresh and it was a good portion size. The grilled squid tasted fishy like sardines. Sardines were also on the menu, must be some cross contamination on the grill between foods. Meal came with miso soup and a cucumber salad. Service was good.

Was in Muk and craving sushi– used Unilocal to find this one. It’s awesome– great service, fresh sushi prepared perfectly. We ate inside and it’s clean, quiet and has a nice atmosphere. Server made sure we had everything we needed and the prices are in line with the quality. Recommend.

My husband and I finally tried this restaurant last night. We got there a little after 5:30 and we were seated immediately. Only two tables were already there because they just opened for dinner at 5:30 at this time of the year(May to Sept). The rest of the months is opened at 5:00. We decided to have the combination plate which comes with salad, miso soup and white rice. We both had sashimi as one of the choices. The fish was very fresh and good quality. The other two choices were tempura and chicken teriyaki. The tempura was a good portion size compares to other combination plates at other Japanese restaurants. Tempura came with two pieces of shrimp tempura, and a piece of each of the green bean, onion, yam, pumpkin and fish. The fish was a surprise as it wasn’t on a typical tempura plate. Chicken teriyaki was very tender and cooked just right with the right sweetness of the teriyaki sauce(not the overly sweet teriyaki sauce that you had in most teriyaki place. The restaurant got filled up so fast within the hour. The staff were friendly and attentive. We will go back to try the sushi and other menu items. Sounds like a place we will go there regularly!
