Rengstorff Park & Pool

Great park with lots of space! Certain times it feels like I own it because at certain times there are only a handful of people around. Safe, friendly and easily accessible. Also includes a workout area, skate park, tennis courts, swimming pool, and several react rational areas to picnic in or meet with small or large groups.

This park is huge! There are picnic areas, large grass area, playground, pool, basketball courts… something for everyone. I came here to chill under a tree and reach a book and couldn’t decide where to located myself since there was so much space to choose from. I came on a weekend and there was a soccer game going on, volleyball game, flag football, etc. — lots of activities and people!
Overall, it’s a good park to bring your kids, play or have a picnic. Might be a bit crowded on the weekends though especially if it’s a nice day.

This is a smaller but well laid out park with multiple amenities including: basketball hoops, handball courts, pool, grass areas, BBQ pits, paved paths, play equipment, and even some gym style outdoor equipment for adults and kids alike! If you go in the evening or weekend there is a preschool on the back side which has a beautiful playground that includes some musical play equipment and they leave it open for the community to access when the school is closed. The chimes they have are fun for kids of all ages and give off this «zen» ambiance if you are relaxing around that side of the park.
The only downside is noise from the busy street, near the freeway, and the Caltrain that runs directly next to it.

I like the different amenities of the park as well as the nice shaded patches of freshly trimmed green grass for doing a workout. However, it’s not very peaceful. There is a lot of noise pollution from the nearby freeway and train that goes by literally across the street.

If you like Lakewood skate park, you’ll like Rengstorff skate park.
It’s located past the kids’ playground.
It’s noisy with all of the metal but that’s kind of endearing.
Nothing was overly slick, and the concrete seemed okay.
There was a half-​pipe but there were street and vert parts.

This is a nice, large park to have nearby. It has a large field for playing soccer, ultimate, volleyball, etc; a couple bbq/​party areas (reservations required, I think, depending on the season); multiple playgrounds/​swingsets, basketball courts, a skate park, and a pool.
I go to the park to play tennis so I’ll talk more about that. There are eight well-​maintained courts with lights and two unlit backboards. I wish the backboards had lighting too (for the late fall and winter when it gets dark early), but I can always head over to the Cuesta courts if I want to hit in the evening. There are usually at least one or two free courts, though sometimes they fill up in the hours after work. Unlike at the Cuesta courts, there are no employees here so the courts are always first come first served (with the exception of occasional group lessons for kids, which seem to reserve a couple of the courts at a time). In theory, the players here are supposed to indicate their start and finish time on a large board in the NW corner as a courtesy to people waiting to use the courts. But only some of the players actually do so. If you happen to go at a particularly busy time, you can sit in the bleachers next to the courts while you wait.
I usually park in the lot off of Crisanto Ave (closer to the basketball courts) and then walk across the field to the tennis courts. This lets me avoid Rengstorff, which can back up at the traffic light/​train tracks, particularly around rush hour.

It’s a great park for the kids of different ages. The playground is big enough and the park territory as well. There is a wide stone slide, that the kids usually like, although it is easy to hurt yourself when there are a lot of kids on it. There are also a couple of playgrounds at the preschools in the park, which are very nice. I would recommend this park to the parents with kids of ages 2 – 7.

Nice and big park that has something for everyone. Nice jogging routs, large playgrounds, infant and toddler play areas, a nice and clean swimming pool, Recreation and party area, Tennis courts, Skatepark, a free small outdoor gym, and many more. A very nice toddler play area that belongs to CCLC Playschool towards the southeast corner of the Park is open to public after 6 PM on weekdays. Park is usually crowded on summer evenings, but still has plenty of parking. The Swimming pool staff is nice and they have some good swim lessons.

Great park for kids and adults!
This is a large and attractive park. Parking seems to be sufficient on a weekend morning. The park has paved trails, large grassy fields, mature trees, bathrooms (no soap), and multiple playgrounds. There are benches and picnic areas and even exercise equipment for adults. I haven’t checked out the pool to comment it, but it likely is good if it is on par with everything else here. Enjoy!

Reservations are required for the picnic area from May 1 to Oct. 1 (don’t remember if Oct. or Nov.). The picnic areas have tables and grill, portable grills aren’t allowed. Take a copy of the reservation or have it on your phone, the park workers might come by and ask. No alcohol!
There was plenty of parking when I got there are 11am.

They have 8 really nice tennis courts with a decent light and waiting area. The courts are well maintenance and not slippery, it’s a nice park to play tennis.

Rengstorff is a large park with a toddler play structure, a play structure for older kids, a skate park, a pool, and some sporting areas. We have a toddler and love to come to Rengstorff when we spend the day in Mountain View. The play structures have sand all around them so our daughter will play for a long time with sand toys. The only thing that isn’t ideal, is that it is not gated and so our two-​year old loves to run over to the «big kid» side where the older kids are running around and usually don’t see her. Also, the most convenient place to park to go to the toddler area is at the curb on Rengstorff which is pretty trafficky and near the train — so it’s not that easy to pull out to get back to El Camino. Overall, this is one of our favorite parks to go to.

This place is awesome. I live about half a mile from here and it is definitely my go to walking place. What I like most is that there are all kinds of people that make use of the park. One day during the summer I saw picnics, people doing tai chi, a dog training classes, several soccer games, a basketball game, people swimming at the pool, kids at the skateboarding at the skate park, and people playing tennis.
I have even seen a serious quidditch match or two on the weekends. .. complete with brooms and everything! Definitely check this park out!

This is one of my favorite parks but recently me and quite a few friends had a bad experience on leaving the park with a confusing intersection.
While at the park, we watched motorcycle cops pulling over several drivers leaving the park. Carefully managing the intersection, we were surprised when we were pulled over and ticketed as well by two motorcycle cops (my friend was pulled over in tandem with another car and had to wait for the officer to give that person a ticket before ticketing her…)
Just wanted to warn moms leaving the park to be very careful because it looks like the police use this confusing intersection to collect tickets. Make sure you don’t turn directly into the first lane when you are making a right, because this lane turns into a turn only lane after it crosses the train tracks & if you continue straight through the intersection, there’s a good chance you’ll end up with a $ 300 ticket, which can quickly ruin any nice day at the park.

This park has it all and serves multiple purposes: a playground, a swimming pool, a skate park, tennis courts, grassy area for picnics and soccer games, walking/​running paths. Centrally located and great for visitors of all ages.

i frequently run through this park, and like how the single paved path allows you to see everything this park has to offer. relatively speaking, i’d say this park is pretty big and everything a park should have: playground area, swimming pool, basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball field, lots of grassy areas to sit & play and picnic tables.
the proximity to the caltrain tracks can cause a buildup of extra traffic, noise and cars waiting to cross the tracks. and when it’s dark (or nearing sunset), i don’t feel the safest running through here.
but, this is a great place to go for a stroll, have a picnic, or just run through and take in the views.

I am ashamed given how long I’ve lived here, that I hadn’t been to this park until today.

More specifically, it has FOUR (or five?) playgrounds for kids of different age groups, with climbing walls and slides and poles and jungle gyms, tennis courts, squash courts, an adult workout playground area, basketball courts, barbecues for public and permit use, picnic tables, huge expanses of grass, bathrooms, water fountains, a skate park… Really. Literally everything.
It made my fiancé, who usually refers to children as «proto-​humans» say, «It makes me wish we had kids… This would be their Mecca.»

I’ve only been here once due to Eagle Pool being closed for some schedule change… This pool is in general pretty far for me to do any daily workouts. So this might be the only time I actually go.
I came here during the lunch hour and it was pretty crowded. Crowded enough where you have to stop in the middle of your lap because either
1. Someone is swimming in the wrong speed lane
or
2. There is just no room.
There wasn’t many lanes in the pool to begin with. Maybe at most 6 lanes with the side area for more pleasure swimming. There is a slide available during open public hours I believe and a good area for tanning too. In general, the place is very spacious. More for public swimming since it is also located in the middle of a huge park.
All in all, Eagle Pool beats this one!
