Specialties

We are licensed clinics providing consultations on abortion, adoption and parenting. We provide pregnancy tests, ultrasound exams, prenatal care, STD testing and treatment and other support services. RealOptions does not charge for services, including medical visits and consultations. However, laboratory fees for STD screenings — charged by the outsourced lab and treatment fees of $ 30 do apply. We take cash, credit & debit cards. None of your medical visits will appear on your insurance records.

We know that you may be facing a life changing choice and our staff is here to help walk you through your options. Our board certified OB/​GYN physician, registered nurses, nurse practitioner, and support staff are highly trained and dedicated to meeting your health care needs. We are here to offer you a safe place to ask questions and get answers.

I can say nothing but wonderful things about this place, I went in there feeling confused about my issues and although the outcome was not what I wanted to hear, I still felt grateful for my counselors support and advice and walking me through the next steps. I feel better now that I have an answer to the confusion.

I first visited Real Options after learning my husband and I were expecting our first baby. At the time, we were transitioning insurance companies, I could not yet enroll in insurance, and we made «too much money» for most assisted types of insurance. This period of time caused anxiety, and Real Options offered the professional care we needed while we waited for insurance to approve our case. This scenario has not only happened once, but TWICE – now with my second pregnancy. During these three years, Real Options has offered:
1. Excellent (emphasis added) care through professional, caring RNs and CNMs
2. Free clothes for our baby
3. Prayer in time of need
4. A listening ear and friendship
5. FREE birthing courses by Jen Vawters from «Beautiful Miracles Birthing Services.» Her discussions, knowledge, care, and information shared was far better than the Bradley Methods course we paid for, which was not part of Real Options.
I Highly recommend Real Options, whether or not your pregnancy is planned! You will find excellent care, outstanding people, and help during a critical time. They will truly remind you that having a child is a blessing, something we have experienced as parents/​students who were not «ready» to have a baby. Thanks to Real Options, we are going strong in graduate school and almost done! BEST decision of our lives!

Writing this review as a volunteer who helped someone who came to this clinic. I was very impressed with RealOptions and their caring staff. There are not many places like this in the Bay Area where they will actually LISTEN to a pregnant woman and help her to succeed in bringing a baby to term and caring for him or her. Other places like Planned Parenthood promote abortion because they make money from abortions. PP doesn’t care that a woman will suffer all her life thinking about her dead baby and what could have been and that the suffering gets worse as she gets older. RealOptions contacted me to help a homeless pregnant woman find shelter and then gave her free medical care and basic necessities. They are just wonderful.
If you are a pregnant woman looking for shelter, take a look at Siena House in Santa Cruz, another wonderful organization who can help.

I was very fortunate to have found this place several years ago when I was pregnant and realized that parenting alone would be the safest choice for myself and my son. I went weekly for counseling, which helped me stay emotionally and physically healthy in the process of leaving an unsafe marriage. What I remember is not just the counseling and conversations that focused on the bad times, but the emphasis on the positive and happy parts of my life and pregnancy. Hearing the good things motivated me and helped me to weather the storm ahead. I went on to make a plan, save money, take night classes, and give birth to a healthy child. I am so thankful for the support they provided me then and still do now with an occasional check-​in about my life and the direction I am going. I also know that if I ever needed anything, even clothes for my son, they would help me. This place is staffed by very genuine and caring people, some of whom are volunteers who are volunteering because they simply enjoy helping and supporting others and their families.

I went to the Community Pregnancy Center when I was in desperate straits. I was pregnant, coming out of a very bad relationship with an abusive man, and was being advised by friends and my employer that I should have an abortion. I knew where to go if I wanted one (doesn’t everyone know about Planned Parenthood?) I just didn’t want one.
That’s why I was so thankful that this place existed. My counselor understood what my motivations and thought processes were, and she helped me sort out the alternatives and determine what I wanted to do. She coached me every step of the way, never telling me what to do, but always encouraging me. She had faith in me, and my faith in myself grew.
It is some years later, and I have never regretted carrying my baby to term, and becoming a mother, even though it has been very hard at times. Real Options has always been there for me, with help tangible and intangible, and I am very grateful for its existence.
