I was able to get a quote online and then left a msg for them to call me back, a much better pricing than quoted from others. Michael called me back after a few hours (be patient for the call back), and he was able to take me the next day. I was thrilled that he was able to get me in, because I was looking at least a week to make an appt with other places. He took 1 hr to replace the windshield on my suburban. I didn’t have insurance to cover it, so the quote was very reasonable, well worth it! It looks so much better than it has probably in years, all new! There is shopping to keep you busy across the street, or in the same strip center, and places to eat or get a coffee. Efficient, great value and just a really nice guy! I highly recommend this place!!!

I had a chip on my windshield, called mike to make a schedule, the price is $ 60, which is actually quite low compare to other places, the process took about 15min. I was quite pleased with the process. the chip is still very noticeable but I’m happy as long as the chip is filled.
Unfortunately, the filler comes out from the repair hole in the next day without any car wash or anything, and the filler that comes out is white soft instead of transparent and hard, I have to pick up a windshield repair kit to fill that hole, the resin comes in the kit is much more clear. I really think mike is a good person, but for me, the fix wasn’t quite there, I really wish I did it by myself in the first place so I can have much more clear resin fill in the chip.

I totally recommend Michael at MV Auto Glass. A couple of things to note: He apparently does not actively use the website anymore. It’s up, it works, and the quote it yielded was accurate. But he does not use it to book appointments so you won’t receive a call as it notes, etc. So, use the website to get a ballpark quote, but follow up with a phone call and make your appointment by phone with Michael. Second, his shop is in the back of the Alliance Gas station on the corner of Grant and El Camino Real. It’s a good location as there are things to do with in walking distance (mostly food and one or two furniture shops), plan about an hour or so. Third, Michael is a bit gruff and abrupt on the phone… the reason is that he’s a one man show and he’s working his ass off. When I was there, as soon as my car stopped, he was at my windshield before I had exited the car. He’s a busy guy. There aren’t a lot of frills, but the things that matter are all there: Low, competitive price, quality product, excellent service, fast service. It doesn’t get any better than this guy. And he stands by his work.

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME. I made an appointment online, got a quote for the work in a clearly stated confirmation email for my appointment date (but no TIME indicated); the email text said someone would be in touch, but no one called. I followed up two days later and left a voicemail saying I needed to know what time to show up, but got no response. So I decided to show up on the appointed day, prepared to leave my car there all day if necessary. But the solo owner/​operator had apparently decided to take the day off!!! Business must be brisk, if he can afford to blow off potential customers.

So keep in mind there are more or less two business in one here. One is the glass guy who does… glass. And there are also a couple guys doing tint. They all might work under one name, but they seemed to be doing their own thing for the most part.
(actually, you could almost say 3 in 1, one bay is the office for the Smog and Glass, the other is the dyno for smog and work station for the glass)
I got a star chip in my windshield fixed. It is a lot less noticeable now and I’m glad I got it repaired. It didn’t totally disappear, but definitely looks better and now I’m not afraid it will crack later on when using the defroster, which has happened to me before.
You could see by the tools he was using it was a BIG upgrade from the kits you can buy in the store. I’ve used the kits in the store and the filler came out after the first car wash. (coin op spray and brush, not the drive through type)
Repair was fast and no-​nonsense.

Had my two elderly parents drop the car off for me and they were treated like a burden while the main guy working the desk complained about having to do any work. The main tool sealed the window in a sloppy fashion like a kid coloring outside the lines. When we brought the car back to have him fix this he complained a lot, but to his credit begrudgingly corrected his mess. 2 stars for being cheap.

This place is awesome. Fast, good quality work and materials at a good price. I had a windshield replaced on a Honda Fit for ½ of what Safelite had quoted. Plus you can buy a $ 75 voucher for $ 50 on Unilocal and apply that $ 75 to the labor.

Never got to getting my window repaired as I kept getting yelled at on the phone by the repair person. Completely inappropriate and hostile attitude. Even if they can do a good job with the car, treating anyone this way is uncalled for.

I had my side window bashed in on Monday. I gave GEICO a call who recommended Safelite auto glass — who I’ve used before and in fairness do a good job. However, Safelite quoted me at $ 440 and was going to have me wait til Thursday (3 days) for an off-​site visit, 2 weeks for an on-​site visit. Tuesday morning (the next day) I gave Mike at Mountain View Auto Glass a call. Mike asked me to bring in the car the same morning (with a little lag so he could have the glass for my car delivered) and quoted me at $ 235. I dropped my car off at 11 and not only an hour later picked up my car. Great service. I would highly recommend.

I used to go the autoglass repair guys next to Pick-​N-​Pull, San Jose, when I needed a cheap autoglass. This time, I was lazy and didn’t want to dive into that mess of dirt and crowd. Anyhow, I found those guys online which was also at a convenient distance to my apartment. I gave them a call and got a quote. Surprisingly, their price was $ 75 cheaper than those cheap guys, and their service was fast and friendly. What else I can ask for. I strongly recommend giving them a call before taking your business somewhere else!
