Claudio is awesome! We are new home owners, and returned to our home after being abroad for a few weeks, to find that our central heat was not working — all this in the peak of the winter.
Another HVAC company told us we’d have to replace the entire unit costing around $ 4k — I called Monteros for a second opinion — Claudio examined the issue and tried to come up with much more cost effective and sensible solutions than replacing the entire unit. This meant he’d have to spend time really digging into the cause of the issue and he did that!
In the end his goal was to set us up with a short term fix, until he could come back, investigate further and figure out a plan of action. So in a market, where most of the people are too busy to even call back, much less pay a visit at their earliest convenience — interacting with Claudio who showed up, thought strategically about how to get us back on our feet by showing care and concern for us having a solution, until his schedule allowed him to come fix the bigger issue — was like a breath of fresh air.
He stayed in touch with me through prompt texts, and the heater is also mysteriously working fine w/​o the more complicated fixes. He was incredibly pleasant to interact with the entire time — and just got the sense that he’s a very kind person.

Claudio just left my home, he replaced a pump in my hydronic heater after being left hanging by so many other HVAC companies who were afraid to work on it.
Communicating with him and the receptionist was a breeze, from setting up the appointment to getting the work done. He is a knowledgeable and personable individual and his price was extremely fair.

Arrived early and fixed the heating problem quickly. The only issue is that they charge a lower service fee but as another reviewer said they inflate the price of the parts ($ 64 for a $ 20 max part). Took one star off for that.
Otherwise, I would have been quite happy with the experience.

Our furnace stopped working – on the weekend no less! But, after looking on Unilocal and reading the other excellent reviews, I thought: if anyone can help us, they will. Just as everyone else said, Claudio came out at the end of his long day and fixed our furnace! Just as nice and pleasant as all the reviews.

I have been happy to do business with Claudio since his wonderful summer job fixing our AC units. He is always punctual, sincere, efficient, competent, and customer-​friendly. It seems like Claudio is so loyal and sincere to his customers that he can’t give nothing but good jobs, including the customer-​friendly prices… He installed American Standards’ furnace, perfectly fitting the old furnace space in our garage, working so quietly and efficiently. My furnace stopped working. Looked up Unilocal review and called Claudio. He arrived on time, found the problem and replaced the defective parts. He was competent, courteous and reasonably priced.

Claudio arrived on time to fix our heater’s faulty circuit board – he was efficient, competent, and reasonably priced. Nice guy, too.

So nice to have a vendor that cares about more about helping his customers than just making a quick buck. Claudio tried to diagnose the problem with our AC unit over the phone. When he did come, he took the time to educate me on what was going on and fixed the problem at minimal cost. Highly recommend!

I called Monteros because my A/​C went out on a weekend. Claudio came on a Saturday at no extra charge, made the diagnosis, and promptly repaired the unit. He was polite, knowledgeable, and tidy. The charges were reasonable. Highly recommended!

Of course during one of the hottest Sunday’s of the summer my AC unit kept shutting off. I called and left a voice message with Monteros in hopes of getting service during the week. Within an hour of my call, Claudio called that evening and said he could stop by and take look. (And yes on a Sunday evening)
Claudio came promptly and helped figure out/​diagnose the issue. Nothing else I can say but great professional service. I will be using Monteros for all my future AC, heating and refrigeration needs. Going forward he will also be the person I call to get an AC service before the summer season starts to make sure I am all good. Highly recommended!

Four years ago my A/​C unit needed to be replaced. My «new» unit has never worked properly since then. After many visits with little success, the original installers stopped answering my calls. I finally decided to get another opinion searching Unilocal reviews. I decided on Monteros. Claudio, the owner, was very impressive in both skill & demeanor. He is the sweetest, most humble human being with an incredible grasp of A/​C technology. He was eager to share explanations to help me understand how one part, when malfunctioning, interrupts the function of other parts, etc. Some companies prefer not to get involved with clients who have been neglected by previous installers. They don’t want to have to «clean up» after another company. Claudio was so helpful, from my first phone call, trying to troubleshoot over the phone before he examined my unit. I am so delighted with his expertise, his perseverance and, as an added bonus, his kind & compassionate personality. Claudio is one of a kind!

Called this guys late Saturday morning. I called five different places that were supposedly open, and these were the only guys who answered the phone. The problem I had was relatively simple, and they offered to help walk me through how to fix over the phone, but I was in over my head and they said they would be out in about an hour. True to their word they were there about an hour later and have my problem fixed in about 10 minutes. Very very friendly guys. And very reasonably priced. They will be my go-​to guys if I need anything in the future.

This is a follow-​up to my review about two weeks ago. Claudio ordered the part for me, kept in touch with updates on its arrival and finished the job last week. My A/​C works perfectly now. Claudio is a great guy, highly recommend This company!

During one of the hotter summer Saturdays, our AC unit broke down. We called several different companies on Unilocal,but being a weekend, they were either charging overtime or could only schedule appointments during the week.
When I called Claudio at 9am, he had just finished a job, and his schedule was booked until about 1 or 2pm in the afternoon. However, since he happened to be in my area, he decided to squeeze me in and showed up within 30 minutes.
He was very professional and methodically checked the unit. It turned out to be a blown fuse which he replaced for us. He was in and out in less than 30 minutes. He didn’t charge us extra for the weekend job.
Claudio is an honest guy who works hard and works smart. I really appreciate how quickly he responded to my call and went out of his way to ensure that we got quality service. We highly recommend him for any AC work you might have!

Do your homework before any repairs are made.
In January our furnace stopped working. I used the Unilocal rating to choose Monteros. Claudio was on time, explained the problem, tried to fix the part before finding that it needed to be replaced. So far, so good. When it was determined that the part on our furnace needed to be replaced, he said that the inducer motor assembly was an expensive part. I took his word for it and gave him the okay to order the part and complete the repair. Although at the time I thought that the quoted price for the part was a bit high. He obtained the motor assembly and was back the next day to complete the repair, which took all of 10 minutes.
The furnace began working again and has continued to work. After he made the repair we chatted for about an hour. Since then I have been doing a good amount of work on my house, including the purchase of several power tools. I have a pretty decent idea of how much things cost.
Today when I was filing old bills I ran across the invoice for this job. That high cost of the part, $ 393.00, was still nagging at me. So, I decided to look online for the part. I plugged in the part name and number and low and behold it is available on several different HVAC supply sites for $ 168.00.
The three stars are for his knowledge, timeliness. The missing two stars is for once again being taken advantage of by companies because of the zip code in which I live.
Again, I’d recommend his work, but before you have any parts replaced, check online for the real cost of the parts and negotiate accordingly.

, a coworking space in Palo Alto, was getting heat instead of AC for 2 days. Claudio was able to the AC working on the 2^nd floor quickly and arrived the next day to fix the second unit. We are grateful for his competent work and timeliness. Unlike other repairmen he actually arrives on time and has a sense of urgency. I highly recommend his work.

After a termite inspection, our furnace in the attic would not start. I called Monteros and spoke to Claudio. He was very professional and let me know that this can typically get solved very easily. He said that there is a power switch in the attic and possibly the inspector turned it off by accident. His honesty was refreshing.
Instead of relying on my ignorance and setting up an appointment to inspect the problem (then simply turning on the switch) and charging for the inspection, he was honest and gave me free advice.
I thanked him and told him that I would look to see if the switch was off, and call him back if the problem persisted. I also mentioned that I did not have a ladder so that I’ll have to get one first. When Claudio heard this, he asked if I was in the area and offered to drop by with his ladder after he finishes his current job.
When Claudio arrived, the furnace turned on! I guess there were no issues after all. Or maybe it was his magic touch. In any event, we are very grateful for his assistance, and his service. He also did not charge us for coming to our place.
I highly recommend Claudio and Monteros Heating & Air! He is honest and provides excellent service.

I was told my furnace needed to be replaced, so I called to get an estimate from Claudio. He was able to come out the same day… and he fix my heater for only $ 150! I am so greatful for Claudio. He is smart, quick, and best of all HONEST. I would recommend him in a heartbeat! He is an excellent technician, and a wonderful person. :)

Our furnace wouldn’t start: holding the pilot light button for 1, 3, 5 minutes didn’t help. I read on the internet that replacing the thermocouple should help and did so, but it still didn’t work. At this point I contacted Claudio. He came on the same day, and tried to improve the installation of the thermocouple, but it didn’t help. Claudio said that the next step would be replacing the gas valve. On the next day morning he came with a new value and installed it, and got the heating system going.
Overall, It was a great experience: Caludio came on time, made a serious effort to fix the existing system without replacing parts, and when it didn’t work he replaced the value and got everything working. Claudio is also very friendly. Just perfect.

Claudio was very professional. He came out the same day of requested service for our air conditioner, and found that our AC refrigerant had a small leak. He filled it that day, and came back the next week to check for the leak and fix it.
He gave us a $ 20 workaround for a repair that would have cost significantly more through another company. He’s very honest, and personable.
