I’ve counted up that I’ve taken part in over 50 seasons of organized and competitive sports. Along the way I’ve had an injury or dozen. But, I am still a very fit and active man for 53 y.o. My secret, really good physical therapists and I still train consistently. More importantly, I now know how to train without pain. I train mainly men over 45 y.o. I know how to free up a tight or frozen shoulder. Got a bulging disc. no problem. Sore knees, achilles tendonitis, tight hamstrings from sitting too much? I’ve dealt with just about everything myself and now help my clients become active and healthy again or for the first time. I work with the occasional woman or younger person, but only if they are an interesting case, meaning injured. I am great for the guy who’s been working at a desk for 20+ years and gotten soft or lost his mojo. I will help him get it back and doing pullups and one arm pushups.

I began playing minor league baseball at 7 y.o. Began playing Pop Warner football when I was 9 y.o. When I graduated from H.S. I got a football scholarship to Univ. Nevada. I didn’t like the pressure of playing there and returned to College of the Redwoods in Eureka, Ca playing 1 more year of football, where we were nationally ranked in the Junior College division. While at College of the Redwoods I began competing in the decathlon. I was fortunate to do well and in time became world class, which allowed me to travel and compete internationally. I stopped competing in 1992 and soon began personal training. I’ve earned multiple certifications for personal training, stretching, nutrition, spin cycling, balance training, core and back, and some others. Now, to keep myself out of trouble I play touch rugby and occasionally, I’ll sneak out to play full contact rugby with 35+ y.o. Even after all the years of stressful competition, I keep myself healthy and active.
