Artistic Kitchen Design & Remodeling

My husband and I are doing a total interior house remodel. We have been extremely selective on the look and feel of the tile and granite. One Sunday, at the end of the day we came across Rosanna Marks. She very quickly demonstrated that she had superior knowledgeable about tile and granite. We were working with a designer and she collaboratively worked with us all and after several appointments we got an awesome look. Now her next gift was the recommendation of a tile and granite person for the install! The advantage is that she works in collaboration with him to move the product and solve any issues if they arise. We can not wait for the finished product, it will be amazing! We are perfectionists and couldn’t be more satisfied with our experience with Rosanna!

My partner and I had a fantastic experience with Julie and Sylwia at Artistic Kitchen. They helped us select cabinets for our extensive remodel in Mountain View, including kitchen, laundry room, and two baths. The quality of the measure-​up and plan was top-​notch, helping us catch potential problems that we had previously missed. They made helpful suggestions that we would not have thought of ourselves. The cabinets from Crystal are beautiful — really high quality, and they answered questions every step along the way. Highly recommended!

AKD recently finished our kitchen remodel and we couldn’t be happier with the result. Like others, we chose AKD primarily because they could do it all – from appliances to cabinets, design to project management. Sylwia, the designer, listened carefully to what we wanted and provided helpful comments and advice. The project moved very smoothly and everything happened just as they said it would. Our kitchen is beautiful and extremely functional. We love it.
A special shout out to Hector Mendoza, our project lead. He’s completely reliable, utterly unflappable and a perfectionist – which is what you want they start ripping stuff out of your house. Hector’s a rock star.

Artistic Kitchen and Design has remodeled our kitchen and both our bathrooms of our Eichler house. We chose AKD because they are a «one stop shop». They handled the design, project management, inspections, and all the labor for all the projects. The designs do speak for themselves. They were designed to our liking and have made our living space more usable than it ever was before.
Sylwia designed our kitchen. We ran into some issues that we did not anticipate, but we were not surprised since the house is older and previous remodels were not done to code. All changes (electrical, plumbing, architectural, etc.) are now to code. One issue encountered was upgrading the electrical to the island in our kitchen. Because the original electrical pipe was not thick enough to pull old and new wires through, a new pipe had to be installed to get electrical to the island. There was also an issue after the project was done where the fan/​vent installed had a small leak… which was only discovered after heavy rains. AKD fixed this issue promptly. Sylwia’s design gave us a great-​looking kitchen, more storage, and more natural light. We did use a temporary storage area for our kitchen furniture, but AKD did build a small covered area within the kitchen/​dining area for temporary use (ie. microwave, refrigerator).
Yana designed both our bathrooms. We love the pebbled shower floor in the Master. The colors make the room interesting dry or wet. Make sure the water drains to the drain and doesn’t puddle. The puddling can be fixed. The use of pebbles and colors, and the materials that Yana chose was on target for the zen-​ish look and feel that I wanted the bathroom to have. Without her vision of design, I’m not sure we would have gotten the room we wanted. We are very happy with this bathroom. I only wish our kids would stay out of it more often, but they find the pebbles so interesting.
The guest bathroom has more storage and is pleasantly a new look from the previous bathroom. The tiles, vanity, lighting, and colors really came together to give the bathroom a new look and feel. Even though the toilet, sink, tub/​shower are in the same place as the previous look, the transformation is immense with Yana’s design. The colors added with the rain glass window make the bathroom brighter and much more pleasant than the former bathroom.
Because most Eichlers have radiant heating, be sure to have a radiant heating expert check for any leaks and get those fixed before any tile work is done. AKD was able to find some piping in our master bathroom that had to be re-​worked because the previous work on a pipe there was not done correctly. I like the way AKD staff works together to find solutions to the problems encountered.

i had a great experience with Artistic. I had water damage to some of my kitchen cabinets which were installed by the previous owner. Yana ordered replacements for me, kept track of the status and provided her crew to do the install. I have worked with other contractors/​kitchen designers and sometimes small jobs fall through the cracks, but this did not happen here. She always kept me up to date, and her crew was excellent. I will use them on my next kitchen!

Artistic Kitchen is an incredible company. From their designer Sylwia to the owner Greg, they provide a service that is far superior to other renovation companies. Sylwia has now done two kitchens and several bathrooms for clients/​friends that we have referred. Her design ideas are fresh and always kept within the ideas of the client. I have been so impressed by her eye for detail and the ability to put together complex orders with no problems at delivery.
You will also benefit from a company that puts the customer first. They will do whatever necessary to make your project a reality and to meet your expectations.

We had AKD do a major kitchen & first floor renovation project for our new house. They removed two load-​bearing walls, replaced a window, removed 4 rooms worth of mismatched tile and replaced it with hardwood, installed cabinets, a backsplash, and appliances, did all the plumbing and electrical work, and managed all of the engineering work, inspections, and subcontractors (just for installation of the granite countertops — everything else was in house). It was a huge project and took months to complete.
The project seemed to take forever, but we couldn’t be happier with the end result. I certainly can’t fault AKD for the timeframe — this remodel was very extensive and was bound to take some time to complete.
We started out working with our designer, Yana. She was very helpful and always seemed to be excited about the project, which definitely gave us a feeling that we were in good hands. She first produced several layout options, after which we collaborated to refine one of the designs into the final plan for our space. Because that plan required the removal of a couple of load-​bearing walls, Yana arranged for an engineer to provide input on the design. We ended up with something that looks really great. Yana also accompanied us to help pick out granite and backsplash options. Her advice was very helpful to us — trying to pick from hundreds of options can be daunting, but her experience and expertise were immeasurably useful.
Once demolition and construction started, we noticed significant progress every day. Jan and the rest of the construction guys were very friendly and professional. They did a great job of cleaning up before heading home for the day, which made it easy for us to check out the work that had been done on a daily basis. They were very responsive to all of the questions and comments that we had during the entire process. Jan and his guys also helped out with a couple of incidental problems that cropped up during the project, which saved me from having to hunt down more people when they were already around.
The only negative experience we had during the entire remodeling project was with the appliance company, who I’ll review separately. AKD were nothing but the ultimate example of professionalism, expertise, and customer service during this entire process. We’re very pleased with the final product and no less satisfied with the steps along the way.

We had our kitchen remodeled in 2008 by Artistic, and are very happy with the results. Sylwia and Sandra (the designers) were instrumental in helping with design decisions and ideas. They were always patient, and Sylwia came along on a number of trips to tile showrooms to help with design and give feedback… she is very good at what she does, and is a really nice person, too. The team of workers was also very good (except for one who did poor workmanship on cabinet install, BUT he is no longer with them). The guys were friendly and respectful of our space. They were so patient with our enthusiastic toddler that wanted to help, and the electrician Robbie was so kind to him!
We get a lot of compliments on our kitchen, and we are really enjoying it.
We made the mistake of using a different business for our next remodel project, simply because they promised a quicker finish date, and we now regret that we didn’t go with Artistic Kitchen… in the end, the outfit we chose was not as professional and didn’t finish the project in the time he estimated!

I wandered into the showroom and was warmly received. At that time I had no intention of purchasing a kitchen. But when I did want to buy one, which is now, I went back to Artistic Kitchen and Design. Again I was warmly received and the designer came home and gave me advise. The followup to that visit has still not happened. As movement of walls was suggested by the designer, the due diligence of possibilities was not done. Wall removal or not was advised on the basis of information gained by the owner contractor through google maps!!!

I had a great experience with Sylwia. I am an Interior Designer myself, and I needed to price a design where a client was considering Pedini cabinetry. She offered a free pricing quote from my design within a few business days with pleasure. Great customer service.

We were shopping for a modern kitchen and went to all the regional suspects including Alno, Scavolini, SieMatic, Boffi and a few others. We found that Pedini was providing a good medium between quality and price (still not cheap). The staff was helpful and patient, really trying to understand and assist us. The quality of the installation was excellent as well — and surprisingly fast. We had a few issues along the way but they were very proactive in fixing them and trying to find a reasonable compromise to get things nice and finished.
I would have put 5 stars if they had managed a little better the expectations regarding the lead time (this kitchen was made and shipped from Italy) but if the end it worked out really fine.
