I asked Art Frame Studio to do two frames for me. They gave us good suggestion, and they have very good workmanship. My wife and I are so happy with their jobs. We are so glad we found them in the Mountain View. Definitely we will use them to frame more stuff in the future. Highly recommended!

I RATE ART FRAME STUDIO FIVE ++++++++++STARS!!! Simply cannot understand how people can rate them less than 5? Mr&Mrs DC Wong are totally experience, passionate and super patient! They got the BEST customer-​service and patiently help us with our selections, show us different options/​price range/​the pro-​and-​cons to ensure we got the best fit for our pictures. Even the silliest questions we asked (coz’ we are pretty amateur too), they patiently and clearly explained to us so we can understand to insure we got what’s most practical and feasible, but not over-​spending. We are very thankful to find such wonderful people! Therefore, I was actually surprise to see negative review on Unilocal but I bet it’s probably some disconnect or misunderstanding. We got 2 big frameworks done at Art Frame Studio, and one of them is actually over 8 feet! They are done so beautifully and so carefully wrapped for transporting back home. These 2 big artwork are now nicely hung on our walls giving such great accent to our home last weekend, before Lunar New Year 2016 :). We are very happy with everything and many thanks again to Mr&Mrs Wong.

Got all of our art framed here. The owner was nice and gave us a lot of different options for our pieces. The price isn’t cheap, but you really get what you pay more. We had done some work a few years ago, and they turned out nice, and lasted all these years. We came back for more. If you are looking for a place that does quality work, and don’t mind paying for it, this is the place for you!

I framed another lithography. Tracy remembered my family. I wanted to say hello to her husband but he was not there. Both are very kind, patient and professional. We are very sensitive shopper with any kind of rudeness and push, but you will never feel such from this studio. We wanted to have the same frame with the one we framed earlier. But we didn’t bring any photo but only the old receipt. With the component number, she patiently searched them and helped us to understand how she’d recommend to get the frame done. We again trusted her recommendation, and went with the Museum glass. She introduced that a new acrylic glass which is very lighter than others, but we passed as it was even more expensive than the Museum. The outcome was great when we picked up the art about a week later. Excellent quality and fit with the art.

We needed two custom mirrors made. Shopped the big boys (Aaron Bros and FastFrame) … Aaron Bros quoted us a price much higher than Art Frame Studio and we had to bring our own mirrors; FastFrame quoted us a price $ 100’s higher than Aaron Bros.
We prefer to shop locally — D.C. and his wife are the owners and take pride in their work. The mirrors were done ahead of schedule, look great and were exactly what we wanted. We encourage you to stop there if you need something framed. You should also check out D.C.‘s photography and paintings which are hanging and also for sale.

This is truly a high class operation all around. This is the place to go if you have something irreplaceable and you’d like to protect it and display it. Everyone I’ve worked with there has been great with finding frames and matting to suit what I’ve brought in. With so many options, it’s great to have an expert opinion that knows what materials, colors, sizes, and styles suit what you framing. When you look at the final product, you can tell that they care about their work and are very proud of it. Everything is always perfectly aligned and you barely notice the seams at the corners of the frames.
When you pick up your order, they very carefully wrap everything up. The hanging wire on the back is very neatly done even though no one will ever see that part of it. They are very sturdy and could easily hold something 5x the weight but why skimp in earthquake country. They put their card on the back of everything they frame, partly for advertising I suspect but partly because I think they want to stand by their work and they are basically signing it.
If you look at the few negative comments here, they are typically about price. While they do high-​end work, they also have pre-​assembled frames which they’ve steered us to when we’ve not wanted to spend a lot on a particular item. If you think it’s expensive, shop around to other custom frame shops and have them show you some of their work. Art Frame Studio puts pieces in the front window that are often ones that customers have yet to pick up.
If you want to have something custom framed, it’s obviously important to you, and you should spend the extra money and get something that will last and show it off in the best possible light. Five stars all around. The staff, the store, the work they do, everything.

Let’s begin by saying I’m pretty amateur at things related to framing. I bought a 50×75 inch canvas painting from a local artist in LA. The plan was to get it «gallery wrapped» (the term I picked up from the artist) locally here in the south bay to avoid high shipping costs. Now the artist I bought from called this store about a month ago and requested a price quote. The owner gave her a price of $ 300. Two days later I called and asked the same question and was given a quote of $ 325. 25 bucks quote difference didn’t bother me much.
2 weeks after that, I visited this store on Saturday ¹⁰⁄₁₀. The guy «Paulo» who was at the front desk took the measurements, went inside to talk to the owner, came out and said it would cost us $ 590 + tax. I told him that the quotes they gave earlier for the same dimensions and framing specs were way lower. The owner at that point came out and said its fixed prices and they can’t do anything lower. The lad Paulo went on to say that they were the most reasonable store out there and that Michaels would charge me about $ 1000 bucks for this size (Yea right!). On insisting that this was not what they said earlier, they went in, penciled it again and re-​priced it to $ 450 + tax. Such inconsistency in their words in a matter of minutes! I simply left the store and checked out Aaron brothers, they are framing it for $ 327.
I think they figured I’m a newbie and wanted to take me for a ride, despite having given me a different quote on phone. I’m very disappointed by their cheap, dirty tactics and lies.

My wife and I went to this art frame shop to frame some B/​W photos. We were new to framing photo but the store owner was very patient and explaining everything. She was not pushy but provided pros and cons on our material selection. The service was exceptional and I will go back for future framing needs.

Just go there!
I learned a lot before finding these guys. I needed a fairly large piece framed, 25×35. And I needed it framed in a matter of 9 days or less. I’ve never spent money on framing… I’m sure your laughing now. When Aaron brothers told me $ 500 w/​coupon, I swallowed heavily. Buy if they could do it, I would pay. «Not in less than 2 weeks.» That’s what they said. Then Michael’s had a bigger number and same time frame. «Not in less than 2 weeks.» Turns out they both send to the same «factory» for their work.
When Art Frame Studio said they could do the time frame, I brought it in. I spent about half an hour selecting frames and styles, ultimately very happy with what I chose! I could have easily spent more, but ended up spending less than both big stores offered and got something much better. I was told it would be ready the following Friday, 1 week. They called on Wednesday, it was ready before me!
I just picked up the piece, and it’s amazing! The frame turned out as good as I expected. The advice I received really helped produce a perfect piece. It’s good to know that it was made on-​site, and they stand behind their work. No factory to deal with, and no excuses or someone else to blame. It was wrapped to protect the corners, and looked amazing.
Some places just deserve a good review. These guys deserve a great review! I will send everyone and anyone I know, who needs framing, to Art Frame Studio!

The husband is nice, the wife has very poor attitude and very poor customer service skills. She will also try to charge a person more than the husband does. I’ll be going to a place with a better attitude for my framing.

There are a lot of places you can go to buy a frame. There are precious few that will make you a work of art.
I brought a few masks back with me from South Africa, and I sat down with D.C. with the masks, and we sketched out a few ideas of how we could display them. After a few minutes, it was obvious to me how passionate he was about his work, and how dedicated he was to his craft.
45 minutes later, we had a design set, and he showed me his pricing sheet. He’s very transparent about his costs, and we had a subtotal very quickly. I was given an estimated completion date of two weeks, and then I paid and left, knowing that I’d put my trust in good hands.
Two weeks later, I came back to pickup my piece, and I was floored. It was better than I was expecting. There were no surprises, as it was exactly what we’d discussed, but to finally see it in person was something else. He’d brought a sketch and half-​an-​idea to reality.
My only problem now is that the frame is nicer than the masks!
Breakdown:
Craftsmanship: ⁹⁄₁₀ — There are a few places where the veneer isn’t perfectly aligned, but that’s more to do with materials used than construction.
Cost: ⁸⁄₁₀ — Transparent pricing structure with no hidden costs, but not cheap. You’re getting what you’re paying for, and you know what you’re paying before you get it.
Timeliness: ¹⁰⁄₁₀ — I was told two weeks, to let them display it in their window for a while, and, after exactly two weeks, it was ready for me to pick up.
Service: ⁹⁄₁₀ — The only issue I’d had was that the lady of the shop was rather insistent that I leave a Unilocal review for their business. Not that they really needed it, with all the other 5 star reviews here.
Overall: ¹⁰⁄₁₀ — Will use again next time I have something to frame. Or box. Or display.

I’ve had two medium to large scale prints framed here. They’re from limited runs making them irreplaceable. One of them is large enough to push the limits of available glass and matte size and I knew both were going to be quite expensive to frame due to wanting museum glass to protect them.
Because of those factors I hoped to give my business to someone that has a lot of experience. Art Frame Studio is only a few blocks from where I live and I have passed by admiring their work in the window for many years. I have seen many large scale and complex jobs go through their display. They seemed the logical choice and I’m glad to say it worked out great.
The owners are really nice and the whole process was smooth. They let me take my time deciding on my frame selection and design, being patient and providing helpful suggestions along the way. They were transparent about pricing and even game me the old, lower price on one of the frames which was getting marked up for the first time in years. Turnaround time was actually ahead of their prediction.
Framing these pieces was a bit of an experiment for me to see if I felt like it was worth the expense in the end. Because of the quality of their finished work I came away satisfied it was and I’ll definitely work with them again. In fact I just received another piece I’m planning to bring by today and I have another one on the way. My only regret is that soon I will be out of wall space.

Really really nice owners — they helped me get a poster framed within a reasonable budget — and very transparent about the pricing. The lady was so accommodating and helpful — she was quite patient as I took forever trying to find just the right frame. I mentioned needing the framing done in a very very tight timeline before I could even ask she said they would try to help me — and I they actually got it done on time without charging me extra! The framing was done just as I asked and quite well — they use a good quality laminated steel wire at the back for hanging purposes. Highly recommended and quite a positive personal experience for me.

Amazing service and craftsman ship from this art-​inspired store! I bought two silk screen prints during travels in west africa and the owners helped me choose a frame and museum setting that really highlights the textures and colors of these beautiful prints. I will bring more of my travel gems for mounting.

As others have mentioned, the customer service here is unparalleled. The husband-​and-​wife owners are truly exceptional people that really care about the work that you bring in to get framed. Prices are very fair; they will break down the costs for you and work with your budget (as long as you come in with a reasonable estimate). Lots of selections in terms of frames, mats, type of framing, etc. They do it all.
Turnaround time is pretty quick. They give you an estimate of about 2 weeks, but my print was framed in about 1.5 weeks. I wasn’t in a rush either.
*Note: The store is located on Castro St, so street parking may be hard to find. But don’t let that stop you.

The owners know exactly what they’re doing and don’t upsell. Tell them what you’re looking for, what your price range is, and they’ll let you know the options along with pros/​cons. Very patient and helpful. The selection is pretty large too, but they help you find things that match what you’re framing.

The owners, D.C. and his wife, worked with me to select the mats, frame and glass to display and protect a fragile historical artifact that needed special handling. They have created an heirloom! This is the second piece I have brought to Art Frame Studio. Their service and quality of work is remarkable.

I’ve been stopping by Art Frame Studio over the years just to look at the art work inside. However, I hadn’t gotten anything framed until just a few weeks ago.
I needed a thick 8×10in oil painting framed within a few days for an exhibition. I ended up picking the very first frame that D.C. insisted. It was a frame that locked onto the canvas without pushing in the oil paint on the outer sides. It looked perfect with it. After D.C. had given me a receipt, he said it could take over a week, because it is customized. I said I needed it a lot sooner if at all possible. D.C. gave me a call the next couple of days and told me it was done. I was so impressed with the work and surprised that he managed to squeeze my project in so soon. I won’t be taking my business elsewhere and I’ll always ask for D.C.‘s opinion first. I highly recommend Art Frame Studio.

Excellent service. They helped me out to navigate to each and every detail of selecting a frame. They have pretty wide range of selection too.
It was our wedding picture and so we wanted to make sure it is perfect. Their suggestions about frame & glass are very accurate. Male owner knows what is best suitable for our eyes in various situations where you would install your frame. Based on your wall/​furniture artifacts he can provide you best matching frame. When we gave all the artifacts about our room and furniture setup, we did not expect that his recommendation would be that true. But when we brought the framed picture home, it did light up our wall.
Price was also very matching. They are not pushy and they can offer you frame for every kind of budget. I have dealt with michael and other framing big names. But this one works out best if you have specific requirements about your frame and need a custom opinion.

I have been coming here for over a year. I have had nearly 20 items framed. This place is much cheaper than Michaels and is run by one person so there is low overhead=cheaper prices. Small and flexible store in the heart of Mountain View. Very hospitable and has made products within a days notice. Highly recommended.
