I was visiting my friend this weekend, and we ate out(lunch, dinner, late night food) during the three days I was there. After trying out some of the local cuisine(ie/Boston Beanery, & Pies and Pints), I think it’s safe to claim that Panda is right on par with the cuisine in the area. I don’t think we’ve tried any ‘authentic’ Morgantown, WV food, so I am basing my food experience on what I had in the area. Hence, the 4 stars. With regards to the décor, we were the only two people dining there, so I understand that the owners may have been conserving energy when they dimmed the lights. There were some people ordering take-out occasionally though. Also, they had Despicable Me 2 on the telly, so we were watching that while eating. This won me over. In terms of the food, I got the General Tso’s combination along with the Thai Style Fried Tofu. The tofu was fresh when it was fried(not pre-fried, placed in a fridge, and then refried again to order). The coating on it was light(no breading, which I was slightly disappointed with), and the sauce on top of it was a bit too syrupy and they could’ve done something amazing with it if they watered it down a little to make it less globby. Just my humble opinion; written in non-chef terms. I can’t say the same for the egg roll my friend had — he wasn’t too pleased. His Beef and Broccoli looked pretty bangin’ though. Onto the Hot and Sour soup — this can improve. They had wayyy too much pepper in it. The pepper provided a fleeting ‘hot’ness to it, and after that, it was tasteless. If the owners are reading this, consider adding some vinegar and chilis in it(Experience: over 10 years working at a chino-american take-out). The general tso’s chicken was okay. The balls of chicken were weird and they weren’t the freshest pieces of chicken I’ve had, but they are passable in Morgantown considering the places I went to previously. On the upside, they were tasty and the sauce they came in was decent. Overall, the food can improve, but keep showing flicks like Despicable Me and you will win me over anyday.

Terrible! I ordered from here because it was close to where I live. The general tso’s chicken was like processed balls of chicken you’d get from the freezer at the grocery store. The fried cheese wontons had almost no filling in them. How do you mess up such basic things? So disappointed and a huge waste of money. I never waste food but I may just throw the rest out. Avoid this place!

Our experience at Panda was awful!!! The service was horrible and the food was worse. The ambience was totally lacking as well. The music coming from speakers toward the ceiling was in direct competition with the loud TV. Back to the food. We each ordered different chicken dishes. The chicken in both our meals tasted as though it were about 2 hours from spoiling. Because the chicken was prepared differently for each dish, we know it wasn’t the seasonings or sauce. It was bad chicken. The waitress saw our almost full dishes but didn’t ask if everything was okay, or how it tasted, or if there was a problem. When I mentioned the bad taste of the chicken, she just said she was sorry and left it at that. There was no offer of a discount or a different choice of meal or a comp for a later date. We will never go back and will warn anyone we hear of who mentions going there.

You know how you always hear about the secret menu for asian people? Well im here to tell you a secret. They have a secret menu! I cant say much about the normal stuff here as I havent really tried it, but they do have a secret menu. Just ask them for the more authentic dishes and you arent afraid to try new things ;) I posted up 5 pics up that were EXCELLENT and delicious if you want to try some the more authentic dishes. I told them they need to translate it and start selling it to everyone. They think most people wont like the taste, but they are wrong. The flavors of all the spices they use are amazing. I posted 5 pics up, and I recommend all 3 dishes. The goat stew was delicious especially with the sauce all over my rice.
