History

Established in 1917.

Originally known as the Marchetti Ranch, in 1975, the property was purchased by the Parks family, who renamed the property Sycamore Creek after the small stream that bisects the vineyard. In 1977, some of the Carignane was replanted to Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, two varietals that would make a name for the winery. The winery soon amassed a long list of awards and medals.

By 1989 the Parks sold Sycamore Creek Vineyards to Kazuaki Morita, a businessman whose family has been producing sake for generations in Japan. In the early 1990s, Mr. Morita became ill and passed on. The winery remained in the Morita family for many years after in relative obscurity.

In July of 2005, Sycamore Creek Vineyards was purchased by Bill and Carolyn Holt of Morgan Hill. The Holt family has been involved in growing premium wine grapes on the Estate, as well as at their Uvas Creek Vineyards property located just ½ mile north of the Sycamore Creek property.
