Solahart

I never wanted to write a review like this because I can not believe a company can be so poor. We had a solar water system installed by this company around two years ago. As a customer I am still hounded by this company.
I want to share so others can be warned given my current experience with this company.
I have worked with so many great vendors throughout my time (which is a long time) but I can NOT say the same about this company called Solahart San Martin/​East Bay (We Install The Best And Repair The Rest). I would forget about the latter part of his promotional bit !!!
Totally regret working with the owner and this company.
Jim Schwerm (JS) is the owner and not a good one in my opinion when it comes to pool heating system he installed for us.
I was fairly new to the Bay Area and USA when we had our house in Millbrae, CA. I knew very little about solar heating for our swimming pool and thought it would be good to do our bit and to be environmentally aware. I did some research the best I could. I found Solahart because I thought his reference was a good way to get an idea of how his product would fair in real life. I was given references and I called one to learn. All sounded reasonable (I thought). It was my own BAD mistake to base my decision on one reference. I was busy with work and away on business and without much consideration I went ahead with the project thinking nothing much can go wrong. I have huge faith in America and in American business around the Bay Area. After all, I have worked in the Far East and Europe for many years in the past and business ethics in the Bay Area appears to be more assuring. After my experience with Solahart, I have been a lot more aware.
JS recommended Sealed Air Pool Heating. I spent thousands on a solar water pool heating system, the product called Sealed Air Pool Heating simply is POOR. In fact, I would save your time and simply call it «not worth it». VALUE is very low. He calls himself an expert, I would recommend people to go somewhere else to find alternatives. To me, JS is horrible to work with, I found out the hard way after a cover which was part of his installed product broke off. He claimed the product and installation would be good enough for hurricane like winds. For those of you who knows California well, I know only a little, when was the last time you had a hurricane in Millbrae or close to the SFO airport ! Anyhow, the product he sold and installed had an issue with it. The cover snapped and broke! He did not want to fix it claiming Sealed Air was bought by another company and he had nothing to do with the warranty. Barely a year in, a solar water heating system that was installed by an expert who claims «We Install The Best And Repair The Rest» is a huge concern to a would be buyer when it breaks in half.
In terms of a business proposition, my experience has been an extremely poor one with JS and his company.

I am more than happy to share with you the emails and communications throughout the complaints I made with him and the product he installed. I have photos to share as well so it is not just my own judgement or bias views. I will provide you with all the facts throughout my experience with this company.
JS is NOT someone who I would ever contract with or recommend based on my personal experience! One star is too generous.
