Arnoldo’s Gardening Service

I hired Arnoldo after reviewing two previous Unilocal Reviews and was not disappointed at all. Arnoldo made himself available in a very short time… within two days… to do my consultation. He understood what I was trying to get accomplished with my very complex landscape job. His crew worked tirelessly and quickly to get a lot done in a very short time frame. His helper, Dante, was very knowledgeable in helping us around some tricky areas mid-​project. I am comfortable recommending this company highly.

We had a small landscaping job on the side of our garage no bigger then 45 square feet. We called around and got several quotes from local landscaping companies for this particular job. Arnoldo was by far the most cost effective with his bid. He even gave additional ideas to what we were looking for all included in the price he provided.
Arnoldo came and had the job done in the time frame he said he would. He even went above and beyond with the addition of an extra sprinkler head in an area we had not discussed. Worked out great!
Hats off to Arnoldo and his team. They do a very great and clean job leaving no mess or dirt left behind. We were extremely pleased with this job. I would refer him to anyone. Hence the 5 star rating.

An empty dirt covered backyard for a rental unit did not make for an attractive rental. And yet here I was managing this property. What to do? Well, in asking around, I found a couple leads to small landscape companies and one of them was Arnoldo’s. Based in Morgan Hill, his clientele spans much of San Jose.
I emailed him initially as I found his ad online after being referred by another customer. Arnoldo was very good about replying online to email inquiries, though it usually took him a day as he replies in the evenings. I explained to him what i was looking for: a backyard with a certain sized lawn, surrounded by ground cover and shrubs along teh fence, and a shade tree area on one end and flower garden on the other. We set up an appointment and met to discuss it at the property.
The day of the appointment, he arrived early with clipboard and measuring tape on hand. We discussed what kind of grass would be used based on usage and water consumption for south san jose weather;, how to shape the lawn to minimise cost and still get maximum usage and coverage; we covered the kinds of plants to use, salvaging a couple bushes already on the property (but moving them appropriately), and finally the kid of shade tree and flowers.
We also discussed the irrigation situation as it needed new sprinklers and drip irrigation to keep the new lawn alive. He noted the grading of the yard, the type of soil and what would be needed to prepare for a lawn without flooding etc during storms.
Then he took all this info and provided me with a full quote inclusive of trimming existing bushes and moving them, preparing the soil properly, and removing all wastes afterwards. They bring their own portable Lavatory so no access to the home was needed. His quote was just a bit higher than another outfit, but his presentation and proposal covered everything. I told him we wanted to select him if he could just match the other quote and he agreed.
Despite a couple day delay from this years extraordinary rains, Arnoldo and his crew finished within 10 days. Unbeknownst to me, he went back to check on the yard for the next month to make sure the sod took and did the first mowing to make sure everything was being properly watered and such. And he acknowledged a last minute request from me to change the flower garden to a play area for our new tenants as well as one to remove some excess construction refuse the contractors had left in the side yard.
When I went to examine the work both immediately after they finished as well as 4 weeks later, i was stunned at how nice things were, and to this day the tenants who move in, LOVE it!
Cannot say enough good things about a vendor that does his best to keep in touch all while actually going on site to make sure the work is done properly. He is busy, they are busy, but he reports back anything he sees and for all of that, I give them five stars.
Oh, Arnoldo and his team do gardening services, fences, and tree trimming, as well as initial landscape jobs.
