Stonegate At Towngate

The apartments themselves are nice and have great amenities. Neighbors, like anywhere, can be difficult, loud, etc. But that’s to be expected. What I really appreciate about living here is the staff. Whenever I need to go into the office for a work order, grab a package, etc. Nazey is always attentive, knowledgeable, and just a pleasure to be around. Being able to leave a leasing office with a smile on your face is a rare thing, and one I appreciate.

This place used to be nice place to live when we 1^st moved in back in July of last year, it was nice and quiet, and the amenities were great! Biggest issue was parking. But NOW… it’s jus ghetto and not worth living here. Jus last month a guy was shot by the pool area. And last night I was woken by screams and look out my window and there’s this guy hitting a woman with a belt and they were fighting. At 4:30am! That jus solidified to me that this place has gone to shit and I no longer want to live here. We renewed our lease this year thinking it was still a nice place, now we’re looking to leave asap. The staff does not manage this place well at all. So many inconsiderate people in the pool til late at night screaming or playing loud music. If you’re OK with ghetto loud neighbors and like feeling like you live in a bad area by all means this is the apartment for you. Something bad is always happening.

If I could give a big fat 0 I would! This place is infested with rats! Pest control is a joke like the rest of the staff here! They have come in twice and set traps and nothing! They have never even come back theirselves to check the traps that are on my back patio. I here rats all night long in my walls and vents. The rats are living in the trees and they know this but do NOTHING! This has been going on for months now and no resolution. I have asked to move to another building but that never had happened and yet I was made aware that if I move I will have to pay a transfer fee! I’m so over this place!

I’ve lived here since 2009, I moved from a roomy 1 bedroom to a roomy 2 bedroom I will live here until I purchase a home, I have had VERY minor issues that were corrected immediately, I renew my lease and get a free carpet cleaning, only complaint is that, the Gym equipment needs to be maintenanced monthly, and also the pool area equipment needs to be maintained monthly, i.e., the TV, the knobs on the grill, and also the cleaning of the grill, the mist for those really hot days… these are advertised amenities that I like using, but other than that great place to live…

I’ve been a tenant here for about 8 months. I like the way the place looks and it is generally well maintained. Parking can be a hassle sometimes but you’re guaranteed 1 space. The immediate surrounding community has ample amounts of stores and retail outlets so you don’t have to travel far to purchase anything. My biggest complaint is their billing practices which happens to be through a third party. Every month I have to spend about an hour at the main office trying to resolve a recurring charge that was made in error upon moving in. I even once received a notice saying they would not process my next payment until I paid this small charge, I’m not even sure that’s legal let alone ethical. Furthermore the billing invoices will frequently not include a description of all the charges. Did I mention that there’s a charge just for the billing? That doesn’t necessarily bother me but if you’re going to charge me extra to bill it should be done accurately and mistakes should be resolved the 1^st time around, not the 5^th and 6^th.
The buildings and grounds here are decently maintained. I’ve never had a problem with maintenance in terms of turn around or quality. The sanitation however is lacking a proper schedule, it needs to be increased to about one more time per week. The trash areas are frequently overflowing which creates an unsanitary environment.
A significant amount of the tenants here are not neighbor friendly in terms of excessive noise. I don’t mind being loud during the day but frequently cars will honk and people will have loud arguments at very late hours of the night. The mail boxes here have been vandalized at least twice that I know of since I’ve been here. We used to have a security guard but he’s been nowhere to be seen in the last six months or so. The police are here at least twice a week. When I first moved in Aug. 2014 it was fairly low-​key here but in the last 4 months police activity has significantly increased.
The staff has been completely replaced at least twice since I’ve been here. They are generally nice but not very helpful when it comes to billing. As I’ve mentioned before the billing is through a third party so I don’t think it’s the fault of the staff when it comes to those issues but rather a poor practice on behalf of the management.
I think that if these issues were addressed and resolved this place could be a pleasure from which to rent. At this point though I would not recommend Stonegate for prospective renters.

RUN FROM THIS PLACE AS FAST AT YOU CAN!!! The worst customer service, I ever experienced in my life. I have lived all over the world and never seen the type of customer service I experience here. Everyone in this office need to be retained in customer service and how to deal with customer. No professionalism. I had a move out inspection schedule and the Manger left work early because they were sick, which is understandable, but no one notified/​called me of to reschedule. I waited for 1 hour before I went to the office to find out she went home for the day. The young lady at the front desk foster a bad attitude and the first thing she said was «I am not a Manager» instead of saying I am sorry for the inconvenience and we regret that we forgot to call you and tell you that the inspection was canceled. After that I was told to just leave my key at the front desk and you can move without having an inspection. How unprofessional is that. I had several issues with the monthly billing statement and when you go to the office to ask questions you’re always told we’ll take a look at the issue and get back with you. This never happened or they tell you it’s because you were late on your rent. Which is impossible when your making monthly recurring payments. How do you expected to remain in business if you continue to treat your good standing tenants like crap. To top that off the grounds are always dirty, trash is always overflowing and garbage is everywhere, equipment in the gym is always broken and unsafe and when reported nothing is ever done to fix the equipment there is a broken treadmill that I have reported twice to the front office and it’s a year later that same treadmill is still broken and to top it off people break rules here all the time and nothing never happens to them and we have a security guard that walk around who does nothing because crime still happens here. NOT A SAFE PLACE FOR CHILDREN THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY THEY CHARGE YOU. OVERALL I GIVE THIS PROPERTY A 1 STAR FOR LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE AND MAINTENACE OF THE PROPERTY.

At first moving into Stonegate was pretty good, we signed a year lease with them and enjoyed the property. Depending on where you live in the complex, it can be sketchy, but our area was fairly nice and quiet. The few times we had maintenance requests for small things, it took Stonegate FOREVER to get to them, we would have to keep calling the front desk and bugging their reps to get something done. The main point I’m writing this is for the move-​out experience. We cleaned out unit very well from top to bottom and left it in decent shape before move-​out and requested a ‘walk-​through’ from the front before we left. They sent a ‘maintenance supervisor’ over to our unit who just looked around and said that everything was ok and then left. We assumed all was well. I asked the woman at the front desk about that process, and she stated that they do a ‘formal’ walk-​through once we vacate the premises and wouldn’t do one there with one of their reps. We were already late for our move, so we just left at that point, hoping we had done our part. After we leave, we get a bill for over $ 300 in cleaning and painting charges! I was appalled by that and they stated that it was standard procedure to make those charges. My advice to you is to do a formal walkthrough before you leave and take pictures/​document everything. Or you can just avoid them in general…

Beautiful Place! My husband and I were apartment hunting, and we stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. It seemed like a nice place so we walked into the leasing office and waited/​wandered for about 10 minutes. There was one person in the office, and she did not acknowledge us. Not even a «hi, I’ll be with you when I’m finished.» Customer service seems off here. Even if she thought we were tenants she could have had the courtesy to ask us to wait. 2 stars because it looked beautiful, unfortunately we were taken back by the lack of manners so we left.

Stonegate at Towngate was my first apartment. I was a single mother with a two year old and searched for months to find what I felt would be the perfect place for my son and I to build our home.
On my first visit to the apartment I fell in love with the property, the amenities, the size and layout of the apartment, and the price. Not only that I was promised a $ 500 gift card on the day on my move in. I asked several times about this because I was going to use it to cover some things I needed to move in. I really felt like the complex and management would be a perfect fit for my needs.
Things started to turn on the first day of my move in. I went to the office to get my keys and had to wait an hour for them to finish cleaning the apartment. The staff was really friendly and apologized several times but I had my mother and son waiting in the car with all my belongs and lets just say the hour dragged. Finally I got the keys to my place and we were able to head over. I was a little dissapointed to find out my parking space was as close to my apt as it could be and the assistant manager helping insisted she would look into getting me a closer one and would get back to (she never did. and i didnt follow up). Upon moving in and inspecting the apartment it looked pretty good except the guest shower looked permanently dirty. Once again the mngr said she would have someone come paint because it did look bad (she never did).
The next day after moving in I realized I had forgot to ask for my gift card (although I believe its not my job to remind them of the perks they offered), so I called in to ask if I could pick it up. I was told that I actually had to fill out a paper and that they would submit it and it would be mailed in about two weeks. I was really dissapointed as I needed the card they promised for certain expenses and due to my work schedule I couldnt get to their office during the operating hours for a week (they had no alternative). Finally, a week later I made it in and signed the sheet. Two weeks had passed and I called to see if they had it for a couple of days striaght. I was continously told no but it was submitted and one later who seemed a little bother by my call said that I didnt need to call anymore they would call me. After a few days of not hearing from them I called bck and was informed the paperwork was not submitted and that I needed to resubmit the sheet. I was really upset by this but said I would come back by. The next day the called back and said never mind they found it and finally a week and a half later I finally got the card.
Issues like this continued to happen with the managment. I would have to call atleast 3 times to get anything accomplished and they never called back when they promised.
I had a TON of issues with my down stairs neighbor. It started when the first week I moved in, he left a note on my door asking me to please keep down my walking because they sleep during the day. I work 5 days a week and leave home at 8am and usually didnt return until 8 or 9 pm due to how far I work. So two days out of the week he had to deal with my son and I walking during the day time and he was complaining.
About a month into living there I recieved a 30 day notice for noise. It stated it sounded like banging and loud music and was inbetween the quiet hours of 10pm-​7am. I was not home for the majority of these hours. I had come home at 4am that night and went stright to sleep. I informed the office of this and they said they would note it in my file and not to worry about it because they just did it so he wouldnt complain to fair housing. I said so im being punished to make you guys look good and they basically said yea. After that incident my neighbor contiued to harass me about «noise» that wasnt happening and the office turned a blind eye to my complaints even after I said I didnt feel safe and felt he was targeting me. Needless to say in the end my neighbor (who was in the army) was evicted for «accidently» shooting a gun at my roof and flooding the whole building.
Also for the first four months of me living their my rent was innaccurate and they were not applying the discount. Every month they said it was fixed yet I continued to have the same issue.
Overall the staff was mostly friendly and very apologetic everytime something happened. However had they taken on things the first time around on all the occasions they wouldnt have to apologize so much. If you dont need management for anything and have a normal neighbor as far as the layout of apt its a great place to live

In the back area is pretty dirty nobody swipe those leaves that’s accumulating for decade. Trash are under the stairs. It only look goods on the front area. Major problem in this apartment is the parking space. Everyone is assigned only one parking space. It don’t matter if u have three bedroom u just have one parking. Don’t rent here u won’t last longer. Beware when somebody park on your spot during early morning like 12 – 8 am is hard to get their car towed. Towing office aren’t available and no security to help either. Office close so you have to deal with your own problem during business hours. Security only comes once in a while. Live here for two years and I’m dissapointed. This used to be nicer and great apartment complex. And five building from my location building burnt last year 2013. Only great about this apartment is the location lots of stores to shop. Don’t believe? You have to experience for yourself with this apartment complex in order to experience the good and bad.

I love my apartment. The parking is great where I am which has never happened to me in any apartment. It is important though that you move towards the front of the building by the leasing office because I heard from other tenants towards the back that they do tend to keep the landscape cleaner up front.

If you are a college kid who clearly doesn’t care too much about your neighbors and wants a nice place with cheap rent, this is for you. If you have a young family and safety is a huge concern of yours DO NOT RENT HERE!
I often read reviews of apartments and take then with a grain of salt because you don’t always know what kind of people are writing them. With that said, I am a mother of 2 young children, I work from home, and my husband works during the day.
When we first moved in here it was fine. The office staff was great, very responsive and the maintenance issue were always resolved ASAP. A few months into our lease, the entire staff in the office was gone except for one (who was the best one anyway) and my family and I had personal safety issues that when I told some blonde lady with glasses at the office, she simply told me that there is, and I quote, «Nothing that we can do to ensure your safety»
REALLY? Then why do you pay for an overweight security guard that does nothing but sit in his car at night on his phone? (parked in my assigned spot a couple times, might I add) And why bother having a gate when EVERY resident has the SAME CODE anyway and when its broken it takes DAYS, sometimes WEEKS to fix?
I’m not surprised when I read reviews from Unilocal or apartment ratings because now that our lease is nearly up, Ive experienced a few of these horror stories myself and my family and I cannot wait to get the heck out of here.
Please don’t live here if you are a young family. On separate occasions I had someone trying to turn my doorknob in the middle of the day when I was home with my kids and both times I heard them running away when my dog barked. That’s when the management office told me they can’t do anything about that.
The people who have moved in around us are obnoxious, talking very loudly at all hours of the day from their balcony while smoking away. People blast their car radios at all hours of the night with no regard for any one else. No one picks up their dog crap. There’s stray cats everywhere. You can hear your neighbors through the walls. I live on the third floor in a corner unit and I feel like I live on the middle floor center unit.
Sure, this place looks nice, but when you live here, its an entirely different story. If you are willing to overlook things like safety and you don’t care about the quality of your living environment, then live here.
I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone unless some MAJOR changes happen, which it appears as though they keep trying to make them, but nothing is changing, it’s still the same horrible place you will definitely read about in most reviews.

if i were you i would not even consider living here. when i was there they always seemed to find different ways to screw me and my roommates over. they were unprofessional at the leasing office. they just looked it. when you had any concerns they never got back to you right away or even at all. they dont care about you like they make it seem. when it was time for us to move out, we told them we wanted to schedule a walkin with them and when we did they told us they already did it without us and this lead to an even bigger problem. our apt was literally how we left it and they had the nerve to replace the microwave and blinds and deep cleaned the carpets. all this was unnecessary in my opinion. and on top of that when i tried calling them about my concern they could not give me an answer right away and they said theyd get bac to me but they never did. i tried so many times to call them but they just never get back to me. phone calls and email. they send me my statement late i get it literally less than a week to pay for it. They were charging us almost $ 1000 for damages we didn’t even make. I literally had to call their corporate office to fix the problem. And you know what she told me? That she has never had such bad employees for for her ever. She was so kind to help me get my money back and then some. I hope that things started changing at that complex but I wouldn’t chance it unless you want to go through the same problems that I did.

My husband and I love this place. We never had any problem with any maintenance issues. If the dishwasher breaks or what not, then management takes care on it. Todd is the head supervisor and he does an excellent job. All the staffs are great!
Never had any problems with my neighbors, except for their guests, who are loud and obnoxious. If it gets carried away the cops responds ASAP. Please chose your guests wisely that is all.
Parking is alright but really depends. If you have a garage or a reserved one, then great. If you are a guest and coming home from a club around 2am, you are soooo screwed! Once my sister was visiting, and it took her 30 mins to find parking. It was insane.

I have lived in many different apartment complexes throughout my days, and this one by far was the worst. The apartments were spacious for the price. A little too spacious, now because of low price the apartments are attractive to a particular demographic. At first I had no problems but soon after the first month it was all down hill. Parking at night is the absolute worst, sometimes had to park at Winco and walk across the street. My neighbors leave bags of trash on there door steps… ewwww who dose that? I started hear a scratching sound coming from the roof and noticing droppings on my patio. Yep I got rats… Yes rats the plural. The management put traps on the balcony and later that night «Snap!» I got Remy from Ratatouille caught in the trap with the Cheese still in his clutches. So they reset the trap that night and later on that night «Snap» now I got Fivel gose West dead in the trap… Gross! Also my low life neighbors just sit on there balcony and smoke cigarettes, and play loud music all day, I’m like «Do you got a job man?» My conclusion «The rent is too cheap!» Another disturbing fact is someone was murdered in the complex. I’m moving this week and I can’t wait.

Overall, the 13 months my roommate and I spent there were fantastic. We had a third floor, two bedroom apartment with a fireplace. The fireplace didn’t really heat up the entire place, but it didn’t really matter. We only had a few maintenance issues and an issue with ants in the master bath, but they were always pretty quick with maintenance calls. Getting mail and packages was always pretty easy too. Management was generally pretty decent to us and we believed in a «do unto others» policy whenever we had to talk to them.
We lived in building 16 (or 18, I can’t remember anymore) and we could generally always find parking during the day. There were a few occasions we had to park a bit farther for parking at night (or in the WinCo parking lot one sad night), but those occasions were few and far between. We had interesting neighbors (a marine with a gf/​wife that screwed/​fought wayyy too loud/​much) and some… neighbors that sometimes partook in certain odorous recreational inhalants… But the neighbors were generally always nice and polite, if not occasionally loud. We had the occasionally party or two as well and were never complained about, which was nice. I think on only one occasion did we hear a fight outside, but it was more a ridiculously ghetto shouting match than anything. We generally always felt safe and didn’t hear of any break-​ins in our building, but I guess it depends on how close to the management building you live in.
Anyways, my roommate and I LOVED living in this place. Everything was fantastic and we were sad to be parting ways… UNTIL.
The move-​out process was simple enough or so we thought. Thirty days notice (we did thirty-​five days) and we signed off to get a pre-​move out inspection, which we would be contacted for within two weeks of move out. We were never contacted so I decided to call them. We were told that WE were supposed to name a date for the move-​out inspection, which wasn’t what we signed off on at all. I asked them to photocopy that paper, and lo and behold, it said they were going to contact us. Anyways, we made a date for that week and they never showed. Unfortunately, my roommate and I weren’t going to be available until the move out date so we scheduled it for that day. Four hours before we were supposed to give the keys back and the inspector didn’t show. I called again and the management lady said that he’d come within two hours. He never showed– in fact, we were told he had gone home.
Not only that, but they reassured us that they would provide paint for us to touch-​up any spots on the day we signed the move-​in papers. We confirmed when we signed the end-​of-​lease papers and they said they would provide paint if we provided a paint container. My roommate tries to pick up the paint, and they tell us WE have to go to Lowe’s to get the paint and container and «Lowe’s knows what paint you need for touch-​ups». I go to Lowe’s and they have NO idea what I’m talking about. I go back to the office and the lady tells me they can have maintenance drop off the paint at our place later. I get the paint, start painting, and the next day I realize they gave us the wrong paint, and now every dry spot I touched up was noticeably darker than the original paint.
By this time, it was five minutes until closing and we had to turn in the keys. My roommate and I marched over and pretty much bitched the lady out for a horrible move-​out. In the end, she said that we could come back the next day to have a walk-​through with an inspector for damages and that she’d make a note of the mis-​matched paint. My roommate agreed to do the walk-​through and when she got there, the inspector had already «done the walk-​through» and said «we didn’t even need to come». We were given no move-​out sheet or even a glimpse of what we would be charged for.
Anyways, with cleaning fees and a «waived» paint job, it came out to about $ 200 for cleaning costs. I imagine had I not been fuming when I gave her the keys, we would have been charged a lot more because of their disorganization. It’s a real shame too, because to college students with low-​expectations for living situations, it was a really nice place to live. I honestly would have given Stonegate 5 stars if it hadn’t been for the move-​out process.
