i have my hair cut at great clips in moraga, ca. my hairdresser’s name
is alex and she is wonderful. she listens to what you want and follows
through just as you asked. i just love her… she’s warm and friendly and
an expert at what she does… and no, we are not related. i just met her
when i came to great clips. i live in orinda and was asked why i didn’t go
to their great clips salon. my answer was, and always is, «but alex is in
moraga»! thanks alex!

Absolutely perfect cut. Couldn’t have asked for a better hand cut & Texture, thanks to Erin! I went here on easter last minute & boy did she work it & turn my hair out! I was beyond satisfied & my family loved. Will be returning! I recommend Erin! The customer service was great & I felt so comfortable & was told if I was unsatisfied I could come back until I was. (but I was satisfied immediately)

Great haircuts at a low price. Ask for Erin, she’s the best. In a nice shopping center with Starbucks, T.J. Maxx, HOme Goods, etc. Good parking.

Comparing Great Clips to Fantastic Sams in Alamo, I cast my vote for Fantastic Sams. Better quality hair cut and a wash and condition is included with the cut.

Great Clips in Moraga is the best salon around. My husband & I both see Erin because she definitely knows what she is doing! We have been seeing her for about 5 years and prefer her to any others although the rest of the staff here are great too! We have followed her from the Pinole store where we first met her and then to Orinda where we traveled to see her and finally to the Moraga store because she is worth following! Would highly recommend this Great Clips because everyone is always very helpful and it usually doesn’t take a long time for a haircut. We will continue to follow Erin from our home in El Sobrante!

I took my 94 year old mother for a wash, cut, and blowout. Erin took care of her and she was gentle and kind to my mom. We loved her hair and will be coming back again in a few weeks.

I thought I would love it. I really wanted to love it. My hair stylist in SF moved too far away from my office. I live in Orinda and thought Great Clips in Moraga would be current with men’s styles.
Great Clips in Moraga is in a strip mall with two other boutique salons. At first I was disappointed that the «Big Brand-​Name» had to come in to compete with the 2 boutique salons, but whatever. It’s cheaper and perhaps they would cater to the St. Mary’s students who were on a budget… and maybe with all the students, the stylists would be knowledgable with the current men’s hair styles. NOT!
I went in last week and explained the clipper number (fade) on my sides and scissors on top. I walked out very unhappy and was told «Next time, we can do it shorter if you want…». My hair has never looked so hacked. Hard paste or gel has always worked great, but neither can tame the injustice and I won’t be back. It was an awful cut. Hell, I should have gone to my dog’s groomer. She would have done a better job.
To another poster’s point, yeah they’re quick. Too quick. And to another poster’s comments, it is quiet there, in and out. There was only one other gentleman getting a whack job.
They definitely need to find better stylists — or simply close and let the long-​standing boutiques have the business!

Stay away from Alexandra, she will butcher your hair. She has no business cutting hair. She is the absolute worst.

The verdict is still out on this one. The people are friendly but the first cut I got felt a little rushed. All in all if you need a cheep haircut its not a bad option.

I did eventually hear from Erin, and she was as pleasant as could possibly be under the circumstances. She could tell by my voice that I was still distraught from the experience, and all things considered she was very reassuring and made me feel much better. Thank you Erin for taking the time to reach out!

Excellent service and haircuts. Erin does a great job and is always courteous and helpful. Would highly recommend. Pricing is very good too versus other places nearby.

This place is convenient, fast, and inexpensive. I paid a stylist much more than here for the same cut (stylist embellished, of course, by trendy space, cool chatter, and agonizingly slow service). Erin is the best for me. Gets it right every time, works efficiently, and takes care of business. Others here are good, too, but I find Erin because I have so much confidence in her work.

Don’t like this location anymore!!! The staff is terrible and could care less about their customers!

Mixed bag. Some of the ladies are great and just get it. I loved the lady that cut my son’s hair. Erin, on the other hand, is rude, unhelpful and should never be placed in a position to deal with customers. I called on three different occasions for various reasons, and she was beyond unhelpful; she was downright rude. If you don’t want to interact with people on the phone, perhaps you shouldn’t be the one answering it? We won’t be coming back to this shop because of this employee.

This is a great place to get a hair cut. The stylists are excellent – friendly – ready to help. They are knowledgeable about how to care for hair-​keeping it healthy as well as looking good

These people don’t understand English and as a result the lady butchered my son’s hair and I still got charged full price. Not going there again. bad service, poor experience…
Update: The manager, Erin, called me immediately afterwards and made every effort to correct the poor experience my son and I had. She gave him a free haircut herself and was genuinely sorry for the experience. I appreciate her effort and have given her business another chance and we have been happy with Great Clips since that time.

Two big problems with this place:
1. it was the fastest haircut I ever had and it showed later. Within 7 minutes I was told it was done. The guy quickly moved through my hair (it’s about 2 — 3 inches long) and thinned sections out, not really cutting everything. He never cut the top and when I asked about the top, he said it was well balanced and looked good. Maybe… but it was too long and I was there for a haircut. He took some off the top and I was done.
Later than night, I took a shower because of point number two below, and wow, I had tufts of hair on the side that stuck out. I had one whole clump that was about ¼″ higher than the surrounding area. On top, I could see where he cut and where he did not on top. What a joke.
2. At the end of my cut, I looked at the comb in the cutter’s hand. It was covered it hair. My hair, blond hair, someone else’s brown hair. What looked like someone else’s stubble. I’m not talking a strand or two, no, it was like a layer of dust… only it was hair. Other people’s hair.
Then I saw the guy’s drawer where he put the comb (without cleaning it) and it was covered in a layer of hair with another comb just sitting in there. Same with three containers of cutting stuff on his counter — just covered. Even worse — and this is where the scary twilight music in my head kicked in — his electric razors where just caked in hair. And he had just used one on me…
He did sweep the floor though…
This place just opened, but I will not be returning nor recommending.
Off to take a shower again, as writing this made my head itch.

6.99 intro price is hard to beat for a great kids cut. Friendly staff and quick service. Love shopping in this area and will now add getting a haircut to list of things to do here:)
Also they show you where you are in line by displaying their queue. No mystery in how many people ahead of you. Nail salons can use this technology!
