Great experience, fast turn around, and very fair price. Harry the owner is a very cool guy!

Brought in a very old (and somewhat difficult to find) Tokina 28−85mm f4 in a Nikon mount with a stuck aperture (ring/​lever weren’t working either).
Harry fixed it up quick, easy, and at a very reasonable price (grease on the aperture). He even made sure to show me before I left the shop that everything was good by pulling a Nikon body out to test the lens against some focus charts. Talked a bit with him, really cool and knowledgeable lens tech.
I’m really happy I found this shop — I now have a go-​to lens tech who works on old manual focus glass like mine.

My lcd on my Nikon cool pixels was damaged. Nikon does not have an authorized repair center anywhere in socal. And I couldn’t locate anywhere to get it repaired except for Max. Living in Long Beach as far south as I can without having a boat I wasn’t excited about driving to Montrose but didn’t have much choice. So I called the shop on a Friday. After discussing my problem I gave my credit card info over the phone so that he could order the part immediately. I brought the camera the next day along with a boc and packing material hoping that he could FedEx to me and save me another round trip. He readily agreed and when the camera was ready I emailed him the shipping label. He took it to FedEx and I got it the next day. The charge for parts and labor was less than $ 100 for a $ 600 cameta. He was accommodating on every aspect and had a great turnaround.

Fair prices. Gets it done pretty fast. In general this is the only reliable spot I know to get your camera worked on.

Stay away from this guy he screwed me over 3 times last time $ 250 I dropped off a camera for 2 reason the remote and firewire didn’t work and when I got it back it still didn’t work and all he could say was «We didn’t touch the firewire» $ 250 gone
When I first dropped the camera off he told me he would give me a same day estimate and after not hearing from him for a week I called him and said «What’s up» so he said he’s call me back at the end of the day and he did. But he didn’t fix either of the two problems
The first time was about 2 years ago I dropped off 3 pairs of headphones and he did the same thing had to call him in week.
The estimate he gave me was almost the price of new ones I said go ahead and never heard from him agin
I’ve never written a review of ANY business on the web before but this is the first time I straight out got screwed like this
He isn’t even able to pull up the original repair order in a computer I have to know what day it was so he can go through he receipts
Once many years ago same stuff took forever had to call left him with a Sony 1000 and when I picked it up it had a huge gash in the screen and he insisted it was always there I just never noticed it

I got this point and shoot film camera and I thought it was broken so I found this place by my work. The gentleman checked it and it was fine. He also taught me how to properly put the film on my camera. Best of all, he didn’t make me feel like an idiot haha. Great place !

This place is great! I came in to buy an old film camera for a photo class I was taking. I already had a lens from an old broken camera, and I was lucky that he had the camera I needed, and was kind enough to sell me just the body. I retuned when I thought I was having trouble with it, and he showed me what I was doing wrong, and gave me a tutorial on how to use it! I told him I wanted another lens with macro, and he dug around and found me the perfect lens for a steal! It was even a Sony lens, not some aftermarket copy. He cleaned my old lens for free, and found me a bag for all of my stuff for near nothing! Harry, I think his name was, is such a nice man, he really cares, and is very fair priced. I will always come back and forever be buying used camera gear or getting thins fixed from him! It’s so nice when you have experts who you trust to rely on when things go wrong!

Big fan of Harry. He fixed my Pentax 110… both the shutter and the advancing gear. When I picked it up, he gave me an extra roll of Kodacolor 200 and found a beautiful 70 mm lense for the Pentax, which he gave me a great deal on. Plus the price of the repair was also very resonable. Hooray for Harry… keeping film alive through the cameras that use it!

I’m a travel journalist and have hauled my Nikon D-​80 to all seven continents, dropped it a few times, and time and time again exposed it to extreme weather. The faithful Nikon needed some attention, and Harry carefully brought it back to life. Thanks Harry, it’s like a new camera and ready for another round of travel.

Bought a Polaroid Land Camera 440 from Etsy. It was already moded for 2 AAA batteries, but the shutter light sensor didn’t seem to work — it wouldn’t automatically give me the second click when I take the picture. He has plenty of parts for this, and gave me an entirely new shutter compartment. it now works flawlessly and he knows his old cameras. Total gem. just go and get his opinion, you’ll end up loving his work!

Took my Canon lense in for a cracked zoom ring. Harry estimated the cost for the repair would be around $ 85! I thought it would run me $ 150 or more. It was completed in a week due to the fact Canon in slow in delivering parts. Well, my final cost was $ 85. Used the lense that evening and it worked perfectly. Very pleased with the repair, costs, and service. I hope I won’t need his services again but if I do, I will certainly return. By the way, it is a very interesting shop to visit. Lots of fun stuff around.

Amazing !!! Went to radio shack and they were useless and rude I was looking for a charger for my camera found them on Unilocal and they were amazing very helpful went above and beyond didn’t just sell me the charger and send me on my way they made sure my camera and battery was good before I left will not go anywhere else from now on

Harry just fixed my camera for free! I was having battery. charging issues and Harry told me what I needed to do (had a 4GB card instead of a 2GB card for the Nikon D50) and that’s what handled it. An easy fix but it would have taken me a while to get there! We swapped cards and it’s all fixed! He also formatted the card, made it so my pictures would be of better quality and didn’t want a cent. Really, who is like that nowadays! He really knows his stuff! The shop is really cool with all these old cameras laying around. Old school real customer service!

When it comes to repairing cameras efficiently, affordably and same day service, Camera Max is the best shop in Los Angeles, guaranteed! I took my Sony A55V to Harry at Camera Max so he can replace the main power board and he offered me the best price in town. Reasonable costs, and to my delight same day service so I was able to use my beloved Sony for Thanksgiving and other special occasions. I had an old nikon kit lens and only the mounting piece was broken. All around pasadena, stores told me itd take 1 – 2 weeks and 100 $ to do the job. But I found Camera Max and Harry would do the job for 67 $ even. When I asked for how long, I was surprised to hear that I could pick it up the next day. Even better, he finished the job in two hours and I got my lens back, like brand new, the same day.

My Argus Argoflex E needed repair and after some weeks, it was repaired. Just what I wanted. I think they skew their repair time toward newer equipment, but my 1940’s camera works and that is what matters to me. I shipped my camera for repair, and it was shipped back to me.

Harry changed the lens mount bayonet on my lens that accidentally broke when I dropped my backpack and the camera inside.
Left it on a Tuesday and was ready to be picked up within 4 days. At first I asked him when he would have it ready since I was leaving town and was simply wondering, he said I will call you.
On my way out of town I received a voice mail letting me know the lens was ready to be picked up.
Was charged $ 45 for the labor since I bought my bayonet piece off eBay.
Harry is nice and straight forward, no gimmicks. He even pointed out my lens has a bit of a focus issue but that was a existing issue and I was fine with it that way, I don’t really see the issue but he pointed it out anyway.
There is street parking only. Shop is located between a pet groomer and a small boutique.

I got my camera fixed the other day. I had a broken screen on my digital camera. He was able to fix my camera in a day. I like the fast service and it was at a reasonable price.
