Description

Specialties

My sessions are often a combination of bodywork and massage for 1.5 hours. Mostly I work with people who have chronic pain or who are trying to reshape their body for maximum performance.

Oriental Medicine addresses the whole body at the same time, so even when I am working on musculoskeletal issues, other things improve. For instance, your digestion gets smoother, or your sleep is deeper.

I do one hour sessions of acupuncture, food and exercise recommendations as well.

I do Non-Insertion Techniques [no needles!] of Aroma-AcuPoint Therapy[tm], tuning forks and magnets — all of them on acu-points to work similarly to using the acu-pins.

«Deep without Drama» is the quick way to think about how I am different from other massage — Deep Tissue massage that can release old and new injuries, but that is still relaxing.

Chronically tight or ‘held’ places in muscles can cause either pain of lack of mobility. One session can help, but to let go of something you have spent years building up usually takes more than one session — I sink into the tissue at the rate it wants to be sunk into. Because I work with your body’s speed of letting go, there is not as much sensation as in some Deep Tissue work — but you get off the table feeling great, and the effects last longer than truly painful work does.

History

Established in 2009.

My first memory of doing massage is from age 15. I became interested in Oriental Medicine 20 years ago when I went to my 900 hour massage training in FL.

Meet the Business Owner

Eloise A.

Business Owner

My two main careers have been in theater and bodywork. I worked on Broadway, toured internationally with modern dance, and did a little film work. I first took a class in massage in 1987, and massage was always interspersed between theater gigs.

In 2006 I started an Acupuncture practice in NY, NY. I decided that as much as I love New York, it was time to come back to LA, and I now combine both the bodywork and the acupuncture in my practice.
