Business Owner

I am a certified massage therapist/​bodyworker dedicated to providing therapeutic sessions tailored for each individual’s specific needs. I received my training from Touch Therapy Institute in Encino in 2006. Since then, I’ve worked at various high-​end spas in the Los Angeles area, honing my Swedish and Deep-​Tissue massage skills. Incorporating aspects of many different modalities, I create a customized session for each individual. I have a holistic approach to massage and don’t believe in forcing the tension out of the body, but instead listening to the muscles and what the body is telling me, letting my intuition guide me through the session. I am currently working toward a certificate in Integrative Crainosacral Unwinding at the Life Energy Institute in Topanga, California. I am also a Reiki Level I practitioner and hope to continue furthering my knowledge, exploring the vast field in the energy healing arts.

Joalena is a gift and a true healer. I have been seeing Joalena regularly for the past four years. I have Fibromyalgia which creates different muscle aches in various places depending on what I’ve been doing and where I’ve put stress on my muscles. After a session with Joalena I experience immediate relaxation and relief of the injured area (s). I like Joalena’s holistic approach to her profession and the fact that she is always taking additional classes and exploring new disciplines. She is very dedicated and devoted to being a healer. The thing that truly sets her apart from every other massage therapist I’ve tried is that she designs every session around your needs at that moment. There is nothing «rote» about her sessions — each one is different and a work of art.

I’ve been seeing Joalena pretty much exclusively as my massage therapist for more than 4 years. She started out as my Prenatal massage therapist when I was pregnant with my second child. After the baby I continued with her for all my body work. I sit at a computer for hours every day. So I tend to have a lot of tension in my shoulders and lower back. Joalena really does know how to release the muscles and I always leave feeling amazing. After the session is over she always reminds me to do the salt baths and proper stretching for my sore muscles to keep the knots at bay! She is the most caring and sweet person you will ever meet. I highly recommend her!

Joalena is a godsend! She gave me the best PRENATAL massages ever. I was super sore and it made a world of difference. I also felt balanced and centered after her massages. She truly has a healing touch! Her tuning fork was so relaxing. It was the perfect blissful end to the great massage.

My back and muscles surrounding it have always given me trouble, my entire life! Even after working for a spa and receiving massage every month (from a great therapist!), my back just needed extra attention. Joalena has MAGIC hands. Her spirit is sweet and calm, and strength emanates from her like you wouldn’t believe. I’ve had both Deep Tissue and Reiki sessions with her and both are extremely effective.
If you’re in need of some healing, hands down, I wouldn’t go to anyone else.
