This is a quiet-chill bar within walking distance of a few of the best restaurants in the Gump. I like to hit the Pine Bar before dinner at A&P or Vintage Year. I dissagree with the classification for this place on Unilocal as «hipster»; the bar crowd is usually professionals in their 30’s to 50’s. Bar tenders are on point on mixed drinks; never been disappointed.

This bar is located in such a cute area. We just grabbed a couple drinks and sat outside because the weather was beautiful. It is not a large bar but it is definitely a popular place for the locals. It seemed to be thriving with 30 year olds who would come directly after work to hang out and socialize. I could see myself going back with a group of girlfriends to enjoy a relaxing night out. One recommendation for employees do not give those who are drinking alcohol nice glasses and those who are drinking water ugly styrofoam cups because I’m there to have a nice night out and that turned me off. Plus, wouldn’t you trust people who are drinking water with glass not the one who are drinking alcohol. Hahhaha.

Just found this place last week. I like the casual environment and the patio rocks. Great place to go after work.

The best bartenders and patio in Montgomery as far as I’m concerned. Drinks served sans attitude is always nice these days. Cason and Landon ROCK! Go on Monday or Tuesday for half-priced wine!

Great drinks, good service, and a fun location for happy hour after work. Pro tip — they don’t serve food, but if you go to Dirk’s(Filet and Vine) you can bring the food from there to Pine bar. Enjoy!

Decent outdoor seating, but very weak beer and wine selections. Bartender was uninformed on offerings.

Wonderful atmosphere. I only stayed for one beer, but I enjoyed the ambience. I’ll be back the next time I visit Montgomery.

This was my and my husbands favorite place to go in the Montgomery area when we just wanted to get out of the house, before I became pregnant(hey this town is boring and he’s HOT). Now that we’re a bit older(I’m 30), we want to go out earlier than 10 pm and still be around other humans, and actually speak to each other at regular volumes. This place is great for both those things. The absolute BEST part though, is that they started serving Goose Island beers(312 omg)!! Also, I am moderately(heavily by Montgomery standards) tattooed and this is really the only place I saw others of the same fortune, and I don’t get gawked at. The bartenders could be a little friendlier, but they are attentive and quite decent(again by Montgomery standards). Oh and we came here for NYE and I got WASTED on mostly free beer & champagne. I think.

A cool place because it’s not downtown and it’s in a relatively new development that keeps the riffraff out. Not very big interior so it can get a little crowded, but people are well-behaved so the noise level isn’t ridiculous. Tap selection is solid and seasonal though certain taps can run ~$ 10. The bar is pine, as the name suggests, but other than that the décor is pretty standard. It probably depends on the night, but the crowd skews older and plaid-jacket-wearing. On a weekday evening most people seemed like older Montgomery white-collar(tweed collar?) types who just got off work. There is a basic wine selection, and although there is a full bar here I didn’t see anyone ordering anything other than beer or wine. Compared to your other drinking options in Montgomery, this is a chill, quieter place.

My favorite bar in town. A great after-work place with reliably interesting variations of draft and bottled beers. The atmosphere is very pleasant — the woodwork of the bar itself is quite impressive. The crowd usually consists of mature professionals, which keeps the place relatively quiet and low key, though a younger crowd does show up in the evenings and on Saturday nights, when things do get rowdy at times. This is a great place to have a quiet drink before heading out to dinner at True next door.

Seems like this would be a great, low-key place to catch up with friends but it lacked personality. Very small, only one bartender, but I must say the drinks saved this review. I love dirty martinis and this place DELIVERS. Probably best dirty martini I’ve had it years. Also, it wasn’t too crowded and the patrons are a little more mature(the mid 20’s-40 crowd) so that was a definite plus. The one thing that makes Alley Bar annoying at times is all the obnoxiously drunk college kids. Pine Bar is more about professionals sitting around and enjoying a drink or two with friends. The only thing killing this bar is the personality factor which is lacking.

Amazing beer bar close to downtown Montgomery. We were told to go to Rue restaurant next door but they were closed by 9p. though the manager said they deliver next door if you want to eat while you imbibe.

love love love pine bar. This is a relaxed and chill place, where you can easily enjoy a glass of wine alone or catch up with an old friend for hours. The pine interiors and furnishings creates a really warm and welcoming environment.
