Fantastic dentist and staff. I drove an hour from Santa Cruz as recommended by my family dentist for treatment of TMJ. Although not completely cleared up (due to not wearing the device enough), it is much improved. I would recommend Bill and his wife and office manager, Sondra, to anyone needing dental care. They both are knowledgeable and lovely people.

I drive 4.5 hours to have my smile taken care of by Dr. Dodson and then drive the 4.5 hours home. Why? Why not? I know I’m not the only one either. I couldnt think of anywhere else I’d want to go. This is my dental home in more ways than one. Before I had my teeth cared for by Dr. Dodson I thought dentistry just hurt. I felt about my dental check ups like I did about scheduled vaccinations and bloodwork, they were uncomfortable but nessesary.
The first time I sat in Dr.‘s chair I was scared and prayed the time went by quickly. Of course I was at ease within five minutes. I felt little and was put at ease by someone who had passion about dentistry. I had a molar that had shattered and had little structure left. Most dentists would have had me remove the tooth. Dr. Dodson believed this tooth to be an important part of my bite. He not only restored the tooth to functional but he was able to do it in the matter of an afternoon. For this reason alone, is enough to make this 4.5 hour drive.
Dr. Dodson has a state of the art office that can service all of your dental needs. Where else in California can you go and not only can your dentist act as your dentist/​prosthodontist, he can act as a careful lab technician who can mock up, create and repair your dental prosthetics. I don’t know about you, but I would much rather be cared for by someone who had a clear understanding of all aspects of dentistry. Dr. Dodson is your guy!
You might ask how I might know this… I worked as his assistant for 5+ years. I can tell you all the proper dental protocal is followed in this office. Dr. Dodson is a perfectionist and always makes sure that he and his staff are dilligent to always cross their T’s and dot their I’s. He and his staff spend their off time on continuing education courses and are constatly striving to keep up with dental technology. I also watched him with his patients and he always treated them more liked extended family. He always took the time to get to know each person beyond their patient chart. Dr. always had a genuine smile for each patient and worked with each person to acheive their dental goals, wether it be a new smile, relief from pain and restoration or just getting over the psycological baggage fastfood dentistry created.
By this time in my life I have sat in many dental chairs. I have been nothing but a chart that was a potential revenue stream. I have also had friend dentists. I have liked some of the dentists, but I can honestly say I was not comfortable with all of them. I have every faith in Dr. Dodson because I have been on both sides. I have been his patient and I have been his assistant. I am again his patient since myself and growing family moved 4.5 hours away 6 years ago. I am completley at ease because I know he cares about my teeth as much as he cares about dentistry.

Friendly guy but. . Went to have a new denture made due to the bad one I had gotten from a poor dentist. He convinced me he could do a much better job for $ 20,000. Yes, $ 20,000. Results? Not any different. Said I have an allergy to the denture material. Went to a doctor for testing. Not true. So, tons of my savings later, (I am a senior) I eat soup, mashed potatoes and pudding. He really did not care.
