Dr. Hambley is a dermatologist in Monterey and Salinas with fellowship training in Skin Cancer and Mohs Micrographic surgery. Dr. Hambley’s practice focuses on helping people with skin cancer detection, diagnosis, and management. Mohs Micrographic Surgery is offered by Dr. Hambley at the Monterey and Salinas offices and allows for a high cure rate for skin cancer, especially basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma.

History

Established in 1991.

Dr. Hambley completed his Skin Cancer and Mohs Surgery fellowship at the University of British Columbia in 1991 and opened a Dermatology practice in Monterey California. Since then his practice has focused on helping patients get the best possible treatment for their skin cancer. My staff and I work with each patient in a compassionate way to learn about their situation and concerns so that a personalized plan can be developed for their problem. In 2008, Dr. Hambley established a second office in Salinas where he also does skin cancer surgery. In 2013, Dr. Hambley joined the California Skin Institute. The California Skin Institute team consists of over 20 experienced dermatologists, nurses, cosmetic consultants, aestheticians and support staff in the Bay Area, Santa Cruz and Monterey/​Salinas area who are committed to providing the highest quality of dermatologic care.

Business Owner

Dr Hambley is a fifth generation Californian with a wife and 4 children. After graduating from high school in Stockton, his undergraduate years were spent at the University of California Davis. He completed medical school at the University of California San Francisco. He did a 3 year family practice residency at UCLA and a 3 year dermatology residency at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. After spending a year on the faculty at the Univ of Pittsburgh, Dr. Hambley did a Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology Fellowship at the University of British Columbia. Since then he has been practicing dermatology with a focus on skin cancer in Monterey County California.
