History

Established in 1996.

MyBlack​Car​.com was founded by Vince Cardinalli, who was literally born into in the transportation industry. Yellow Cab Company was purchased by the Cardinalli Family back in 1974 and has been serving the Monterey Peninsula ever since, and South Lake Tahoe since 1985.

Vince’s own professional career began in 1996 as Cypress West Transportation, a one-​car operation. In 2007 Vince, who was always looking forward decided to rebrand the company to it’s current name. «I thought the name change suited the direction we were heading because more & more clients started finding our services online».

With his natural talents for for great customer service, and reliability, Vince & his team of great chauffeur’s have gone on to oversee Convention transportation in such cities as, Atlanta, Las Vegas & Florida. They’ve been serving such accounts as far back as 2001.

Back in 1996 my Brother, Sister & I started Cypress West Transportation. As a young company I did all of the driving, my Brother handled the reservations and my Sister the books. Since we weren’t making much money at the time my brother & sister took different paths in life & I, kept grinding…

Today, my role has changed. I now manage the entire fleet, all of our reservations and my wife handles our corporate billing. Since I rarely drive its nice stay in contact with all of our clients over the phone & email.

We’ve grown a lot over the years, not just in fleet but, more importantly what it takes to meet and/​or exceed our clients expectations.

. Vince coordinated and arranged all transportation for my wedding guests to/​from two hotels to our wedding venue at the Highlands Inn. He graciously helped figure out our vehicle needs and suggested ways to cut cost. The drivers were excellent and professional.

Amazing, personal service! Lacy was terrific, and being a car guy was a bonus. Lacy was there for us every step of our 4 day trip to Monterry, Carmel and Laguna Seca. Wasn’t my first time in the area, but learned so much of the area traveling with him. He knew the area like the back of his hand.
Vehicle (Denali) for the four of us traveling, and was large, comfortable and immaculate, and nicely stocked with snacks and cold water. Would definitely recommend!

Vince and his driver Gilbert were fantastic to work with and way more affordable than their competitors I also contacted in the area. We were staying in Carmel but had to get to Big Sur via that crazy road. No one I found wanted to take us for a reasonable price and Über and a taxi weren’t options. The van was very clean (there were eight of us) and they even had snacks and water. Extremely professional and I would definitely use them again. Thank you Vince and Gilbert!

I arrange travel often for executives at my company, as well as important guests for meetings, conferences, etc. I decided to try this service to pick up a very important and difficult to please member of our board of directors. The car never showed up at his hotel to pick him up and drive him to the airport. As a result, he was waiting in front of his hotel for over 15 minutes – with a flight to catch. They claimed the pick up was accidentally scheduled for next day. I double checked the confirmation, and it had the correct date and time for the pick up. So, clearly they just screwed up somehow. This was very embarassing for me, and very unprofessional of MyBlackCar. I will not use this service again, nor will I recommend it to my colleagues

As soon as my plane touched down in Monterey CA there was a kind man named Vincent greeting me holding up a sign with my surname on it. When we went to the baggage claim area I went to grab my bag and Vincent said, «please sir, let me get that for you» with a big smile on his face that showed he loves his job which is always a good thing to see from a business man. Vincent went on to letting me know about the good places to eat; I used one of his suggestions later on that evening. Persionaly I will use the service on My Black Car in the future and recomend to all of you whom may read this to use it as well.

I scheduled a Lexus 460 to pick us up at 1:30 to 1:45 on a Monday in December, to take us to the Tesla Factory to pick up our new model S at 4PM. The owner assured me that the driver would make every effort to be Here in the 1:30 to 1:45 window. He showed up at 2:05, Now normally this would have still given us a stress free ride, but as he stated to me in the Car after we his horrible traffic on 101, he had not checked the route ahead of time to see if there were any problems with construction or traffic, However if we had been going to the Airport then he would have checked. So someone took out the railing on the right side of the bridge on 101 between Gilroy and the Castroville cutoff and Cal Trans was doing emergency replacement work and 101 North was down to 1 lane, causing the trip from the Castroville and 101 interchange to Gilroy to take well over an hour. Again this was a known problem from before Noon, as we found out sitting in traffic, we could have routed around it, gone up Hwy 1 to 17 or 152 they were open and all lanes flowing.
The driver did not check the route, I did not check the route, as all the other services I use always, ALWAYS did that for me. And we were stressed and late. I know RPP, but that’s who uses this service.
I selected this company based on Unilocal reviews, so here is my review, for your edification. Do you think I should ever use this company again? Would You?

Our driver for a few days Lacy W. was extremely professional, friendly, and courteous. We needed him for a range of pick ups and drop offs during a busy event week with lots of traffic and he was always on time and got us everywhere we needed. The owner, Vince, was great to talk to on the phone ahead of time and made setting things up so easy! We used My Black Car service for a group going to dinner in Monterey where lots of wine was flowing. The driver was timely, friendly, professional and flexible. Our dinner went over by an hour and we decided we wanted to go out after the dinner for an additional hour. The driver was available by phone and accommodated us for the additional time.
