The food:
The tonkotsu ramen was fine. I would give it an ⁸⁄₁₀. Broth a little bland, meat was fine. The egg was really good. (I would order an extra because they only give half an egg, but it’s so good it’s worth paying to get the other half). Garlic; their pickled garlic that you have to press is awesome. Soaked in a rich, soy salty mystery a great addition to add to your ramen.

Decent size much larger than the usual size I’ve seen for ramen joints. Staff nice; service fast and attentive.

Even with my somewhat average review of the tonkotsu ramen; I give credit to serving more options to choose your ramen. There isn’t just one or 2 ramen choices nor is there a overwhelming customization of ordering your ramen. They have a handful of options. Perfect to please any size group of friends or family.
For that reason I give it a solid 4.

I’ve been to the Arcadia location before so I was excited to see that there was one in Monterey Park. My dad and I came for lunch shortly after it opened. We parked on the street as there wasn’t a dedicated lot there. There was a group of ladies already seated at a table. They seemed like they knew what was up, so felt good eating there!
We sat down and looked at the menu. I remember getting the Spicy Miso in the other location and enjoying it. So I got that, and ordered my dad the Tonkatsu Red, which was also spicy. The waiter said it was a medium spice and that we’d both be fine. Food came out shortly after the ladies at the other table got their food.
For some reason, my miso soup tasted a bit off. Not bad but something didn’t taste like the usual miso soup. I tried a bit of my dad’s tonkatsu broth and that tasted a lot better. Both had pork, seaweed and an egg. You can add garlic to your soup, just need to ask waiter for the garlic press.
But overall was good and filling, $ 20 for both our meals. Not sure if it was a one time fluke or the Miso is just not as good as the Arcadia place but I’d give it another try.

This became one of my top favorite ramen spots ever as soon as I took my first bite. I really have no criticism about this place.
We came here on Sunday around noon for lunch and the place wasn’t packed at all. I ordered the Tonkotsu Red ($ 9), which is a kind of spicy pork broth. The bowls came out within 5 minutes which was great because we were starving at the time.
The soup definitely has a kick of spiciness to it, but not so much that it overpowers the entire bowl. There’s plenty of noodles and pork, as well as a bunch of bamboo and bean sprouts. The bamboo is really nice and sweet, and the egg has this sort of flavor added to it that makes it taste amazing. They have this jar of soy sauce and garlic cloves that you can take, along with tools to take out the cloves and crush it onto your noodles. It’s not really necessary, but the garlic adds a bit more flavor to the bowl as well. There’s a decent amount of food put into the bowl, so it’ll get you on a pretty good level.
There was only one guy working out on the front, but he was great at tending to all the tables, and provided very quick service.
If you’re looking for some great ramen in the area, this is the place to go. It’s not as packed as other places might be, but you’ll probably get the same satisfaction from their ramen as you would from other popular spots.

Good vibes, service was decent, food not so muuch. Had the spicy miso ramen and fried rice. Ramen was very bland, meat was overcooked. Fried rice wasnt much better.
On the bright side, music selection was on point. 3 out of 5.

2^nd time here. 2^nd time I ordered the Okinawa Ramen, since it’s not readily available in many places. Fish broth with egg noodles resembling linguini, chasu, fish cake, nori. Ramen was good as the broth was rich and full flavored without being too salty. Noodles were cooked slightly al dente to give that nice chew and pull to them. About as good as the last time I had them.
I went with the combo and was told that 2 of the 3 offering for the combos (karaage/​fried chicken and gyoza/​potstickers) were all sold out, so I decided to give the ground chicken & vegetables over rice a try. Now, I know why that was the only item still available. Vegetables basically consisted of a spoonful of finely diced up shitake mushrooms and a couple of spoonfuls of ground chicken. Though cooked in a soy sauce/​tamari (?), it was practically flavorless had it not been the shredded nori garnished on top.
Service was not as good as before. Young gentleman was the lone server on this one Saturday evening. Although friendly and competent, he was a bit too at ease with his tasks. It’s not a big restaurant, and since they emptying out as it was near closing time, he was not as attentive as he should have. Well, first, he didn’t check to ensure that the wooden boxes on the tables and bar area were filled with chopsticks and soup spoons. I got the last pair of chopsticks and had to ask the customer 2 seats down from me if he could pass a soup spoon over if there were some in the box by him.
It’s winding down, I understand that you want to start tallying up the evening’s sales, but I’m still eating and could use a glasss of water without having to try and find out where you went. By the time I got my check and paid it, I was out the door 15 minutes after closing when I believe that I could have been out the door right at closing time.

This location is the sister location of the one located in Arcadia. The restaurant is larger and not as busy so you’ll never have to worry about the long wait like the Arcadia location has. On a plus note, the chef of the ramen directly works at this location.
They specialize in 5 or so different types or ramen from Tonkotsu, Shoyu, Miso, Tan Tan Men and a few more. They have a few appetizer items like Gyoza, Chasu, and california rolls.
Their specialty here like the Arcadia location is their picked garlic which they provide you with a garlic crusher. Crush as much as you like and add to your ramen or appetizers.

I love this place! I’ve been here 3 times and have never been disappointed. I’ve gotten different dishes (hot and cold) and it’s been great. I planned to try all the dishes on the menu.
Service has been fast and friendly. Great atmosphere, even during lunch hour. They have a steady flow of traffic, but never pack. Which was great because I don’t feel claustrophobic!
Definitely a favorite of mine when I’m craving a good bowl of ramen.

Ramen Yukinoya is one of those Japanese ramen restaurants that’s not exactly amazing, but it still continuously serves 3.5-star /​solid B– rating ramen with a pretty good service.
This is the 3^rd Ramen Yukinoya location (original location in City of Industry and second location in Arcadia) and it replaced the previous restaurant at this location, Gomaichi (
).

Okinawa pork ramen noodles (Okinawan egg flour noodle, topped with sauteed pork, scallions, pickled gingers, and shredded egg omelette — $ 8.75, regular size): Flavorful broth, but just slightly saltier than I would like. There were two slices of chashu pork and both were surprisingly flavorful.

Ramen Yukinoya would not be my 1^st option if I really want a bowl of high quality ramen in the SGV area (Benten Ramen would be my preference), but I wouldn’t discourage anyone from coming here too.

We’re kicking ourselves for not coming here sooner.
First went to the Arcadia location several times and loved it.
Tried the City of Industry location and wasn’t as happy because they didn’t offer the Okinawa noodles & marinated garlic that we loved at the Arcadia place.
This Yukinoya is right in our neighborhood and we found that’s it just as good as the Arcadia place. Better yet, it’s roomier inside, the parking’s easy and we didn’t have to wait to get in.
We had a lunch date with our niece, Hana. It was a rainy day and ramen (or udon) is always the first choice. So it was the perfect opportunity to check our local Yukinoya out.
Hana usually goes for Spicy Miso, but tried the Red Tonkotsu.
She added in some chili oil to spice it up.
The hubby really likes Okinawa noodles and went with that bowl.
They also enjoyed side orders of Chicken Karaage & Gyoza.
They both agreed that everything was just as good here.
I stayed with my favorite creamy Tan Tan broth, but asked if I could have the Okinawa noodles instead. I really like it better that way. Added in the juice from two cloves of garlic and it was perfect.
For me, the regular size is too much food. So I enjoyed the rest later that night and added in some spinach. The broth & noodles held up well.
We all love squeezing that garlic press!
Loved the server too. She was so sweet.

This is going to be our go-​to for those rainy cold days!

What else sounds good on a rainy day. We decided to come here for some ramen. Not far from the house so we stopped in for a beer and food. We parked on the street in front of the restaurant but not sure if there is parking in the back. We walked in and got seated right away. As you walk in you can see the kitchen In the back of the restaurant and a bar that was slightly used as storage to the right. We sat and looked over the menu. What I like about ramen places like this is that the menu gets right to the point. They have a verity of ramen and you just need to pick the one you want. My wife and I ordered the tonkotsu red. It’s a pork bone base with spicy flavor and you can’t go wrong with the egg. I love the eggs that comes in ramen. So rich and creamy and delicious. Broth was Rich in flavor and just the right amount of spice. We washed it all down with some cold asahis. Small and large are the two sizes of ramen they had. My wife had the small and I had the large. The only bad part was that it was cash only and we didn’t know. So I went two blocks down to get cash while my wife finished up. We would come back but remember to bring cash.

I have been to the one in Arcadia more. Happy to see that they opened one in Monterey Park as well. Parking is in the back, can’t go to the parking from the front entrance. Street parking is precarious at most.
During my lunch, I was surprised that there was only ONE waitress for a full house. They really need to hire more waiters because she definitely had a hard time running around.
Ramen took nearly 25 minutes to come out. That was the longest I ever had to wait for ramen.
Yukinoya is one of the few (if any) ramen places that have marinated garlic cloves that you can squeeze over the ramen you order. Adds a bit of zing. The broth was a bit too salty for me. Noodles average.
The lack of service and slow serving times made me less than pleased to have had chosen this place for lunch. By the way, you have to show the Unilocal check in before you ordered. There are a lot of things that management needs to do-​the main thing being hiring more waiters/​waitresses.

I would definitely come her again since it is in my area, but service was good besides the fact that there was only one waiter when I went to eat here. Ramen was good, not the best, but worth trying.

Got the Okinawa ramen, not bad. Service is sub-​par. If you want 10% off, show Unilocal check-​in before you order. That was not mentioned.
They definitely shouldn’t use the radio for background music. Maybe Pandora, sound cloud, or Spotify. Commercials are not something I want to hear.

I usually go to Little Tokyo for Ramen, but after finding this place, I may not be going there as often. The restaurant is unassuming. It has very few decorations and its furnished with diner furniture from the 70’s. But that’s where the bad taste ends. They serve their ramen noodles firm and in generous amounts. My favorite is the Tan Tan Ramen. It’s served with perfectly cooked noodles, ground pork or chicken, bean sprouts, egg and baby bok choy.
I recommend this quaint shop as an alternative to other long-​lined Ramen shops. And if you’re lucky, you’ll forever have food dreams of their creamy broth and firm noodles like I do.

Nice comfy place for a birthday lunch. The birthday girl got the regular tonkatsu pork bone broth ramen… flavorful. I got the miso and gave her the half egg, the pork slices and the fish cake. Not really any option for vegans or vegetarians, except redistributing the goodies. or having them hold it. It’s a hearty soup, the noodles were perfect not mushy, not crunchy, just right. Plenty of it. Miso flavor kinda light, and u could tell it wasn’t totally miso bec it didn’t separate into little clouds that have to be mixed… in other words bland. The service is efficient and watchful but not friendly. The menu is limited to soups, but if u crave ramen. This would be the place.
Pro: u get a garlic press and tiny tongs to fish out garlic from the soy sauce. Nice touch. but don’t be a close talker afterwards.

Ever since that ramen place in Rowland Heights decided not to have garlic press anymore, I have not only been boy cutting their rear but also actively looking for places that has it. When we heard about this joint still doing it, slave girl and I totally brought our small but hungry friend to try it out.
Street parking on a Friday night was super easy so I can’t even tell you if they have a lot in the back.
We ordered fried chicken appetizer, Okinawa style ramen, pork bone broth ramen, and spicy pork bone broth ramen with a side of fried rice. They also gave us a free side of boiled green soybeans. The fried chicken was crispy and crunchy on the outside, soft and tender inside. Very well done. The broth for our ramen was tasty and the garlic press was not really needed but it definitely enhanced the flavor of the ramen. Even though the marinated garlic and soy sauce was not as good as the other place, I was just happy to have it. The fried rice was average.
The service was also great at Yukinoya. The most impressive moment came when we asked for hot tea, our server lady actually mentioned it to us that the tea would cost us $ 1. Almost all of the restaurants we went to would like to surprise us with those charges. She checked on us often and recommended good dishes for us. What more can you ask for from service point of view?
The only thing I didn’t like was they are cash only establishment. Hopefully that would change one day.

The tan tan men had a subtle spice that delighted my senses and the egg was perfectly cooked! The prices are very reasonable and the service was great.

On a chilly night whats one of the first things that pop into my mind. RAMEN! Ramen Yukinoya! Now the one in Arcadia or the one in Monterey Park. I remember every time I’ve gone to the Arcadia one I always had to wait and it is a tiny place. So I decided check out the one in Monterey park.
Drop by here on a Sunday night around 730pm. Surprisingly we sat down right away with 7 people!
I looked at the menu and the first thing that caught my eye was Tonkotsu Red! Which is a little spicy pork bone broth, oh man it was delicious!
Don’t forget to ask for the garlic crushing tools! It adds a great kick to the broth!
On a cold night, no wait, great warm food. Can’t get any better!

Yesterday we tried out Ramen Noodle restaurant in Monterey Park called Ramen Yukinoya at Atlantic Blvd. We enjoy eating Ramen Noodle very much, we been Orochon Ramen and Daikokuya in Little Tokyo and we enjoying both restaurants.
When we arrive at the restaurant, the restaurant was almost empty but they were they people in the restaurant enjoying their ramen noodles… We sat down and waitress brought the menu to our table and looking at the pictures of Bowl of ramen noodles. My wife order the miso with pork and a side of fried rice I order Okinawa ramen noodles.
The Okinawa ramen noodles were very delicious and broth was amazing good have great flavors. The pork was amazing tender and the flavors were good. The noodles were delicious and tender combined with the broth was heavenly good.

Felt like Ramen tonight so we came here. Why wait at Daikokuya? Hardly ever have to wait here, a good selection of broths and definitely a good serving for the money.
Went with the Tonkotsu Red, which is their pork bone broth, which is a little spicy and it was soooooo good. I like and asked for the noodles hard and they were perfect, squeezed in a few cloves of marinated garlic and it was time to eat!
