Toys R Us

Bad service. Impatient cashier register. So disappointed, tapping fingers on the table.

This store is always a mess. That includes staff and merchandise.
Only went in since my toddler was given a gift card for Christmas. The clothing section was bare bones. Toys were pretty well stocked but broken… all the dinosaur tails were missing (weird right?).
Ended up just buying some bubble bath and a pack of forks that happened to be an open package. Curse my spectacle wearing eyes…
At check out, the toddler behind the register didn’t greet me, nor did she acknowledge me, but spoke to me when she was done with her conversation about looking for a new job with the genius across purchasing lanes. Mega unprofessional. How about you both go to school, and get a well paying career?
Never coming back here. I’d rather waste time going to the Cerritos location.

Monica was very helpful and she was not rushing us. She looked things up for me. Checked prices and checked inventory at other stores. After everything I finally got my new stroller. Only thing I have to say is restroom needs a little clean up.

The selection here is much better compared to the Monrovia location. Stopped by on a Thursday night around 8:30pm and it was packed. To my surprise there were many sales associates around the store and everyone I encountered was very helpful in guiding me in the right direction or locating a toy. It was a bit jammed packed (toys overfilling the shelves), but I am sure this is because of the Holliday approaching.
I might consider making this my go-​to location, even though it is not too local.

Usually im okay with this toysrus. But they screwed up this time badly, I was trying to call for them to check an item but their phone was screwed up and it wouldnt even ring and it kept automatically hanging up. I went to the store and found out they had the item i wanted earlier in the day around the time i called. Had the phone been working properly i would have been able to get it. I understand things happen but they didnt offer to give me a giftcard or do anything to make up for their error. Also to make it worst that item is listed as discontinued. so, i may never get it except on ebay. I am very disappointed with my experience today at this location. Usually i have no problems here but today they let me down as a customer.

I don’t know why this Toys R Us has so many bad reviews. This is my go to location. Speaking from personally experience here, I’ve never had any issues. The Customer Service Team is really helpful.
I went online today and saw they had a Black Friday Sale on some items that started today. I saw a Calico Critters toy that my Daughter has been wanting. It’s $ 59.99 everywhere and Toys R Us is selling it for half off. I had to have it!
I called the store earlier and I spoke to Michelle. That girl is so sweet and helpful. She searched her database for it, I guess it showed they had one so she went to double check. She came back on the phone and confirmed. She mentioned that I needed a rewards card to get the deal. I told her I had one and I wanted her to look me up because I didn’t have the card in my wallet. I must have given her 2 phone numbers, 2 zips, and 3 email addresses. She was so patient with me. Unfortunately she was unable to find me. She offered to hold the toy and advised me that I can get a new rewards card.
I went in and was helped by Omar. He was so nice and very helpful. I saw a girl with a name badge «Michelle» and it was her. I definitely thanked her for all her help.
It’s not often a store like Toys R Us will hold items for you especially during a Black Friday Sale. I definitely appreciate it. Now my Daughter will have this awesome Calico Critters Toy to add to her Xmas presents.

Service at this place is not all that good, employees are not friendly, they need to train their personnel a little bit more on customer service but I can see why the employees are that way if the managers is the same way, we where overcharge I believe the cashier was new when manager was called to fix the issue she seemed bother, hope things change in the future!

Not a big fan of this location. It’s a mission to find anyone to help and when you do, they seem lost. Even when you don’t need assistance with something, there is a long wait just to pay.

This review is about the babies r us part of the store. They never have anything that I need… most of the baby shelves are empty always. They pretty much just tell you to go elsewhere.

I have been to a lot of toys r us/​babies r us, but in this one all the staff was very helpful!!! I bought a stroller online and wanted to use my baby registry coupon so I returned it and I bought a swing a swing as well. I had screenshotted the swing a couple of days ago and it was $ 40 less than the price in store and at the store and online it was now at full price!!! However the manager was extremely nice and understanding that she gave me the price that it was on my screenshot! I would totally go back to this toys r us! They saved me ALOT of money!

I love this toys r us but I have to give it 2 stars and this is why. I went in to buy a baby monitor which is a high tech one which costs about $ 200 (that’s the only thing I NEEDED) then I see a couple things I could use so I’m walking to the cashier and the way it works is that with expensive items the box is empty and when you take it to the cashier they go and call someone to bring the actual product out to you. Or sometimes the item is behind a locked glass. So in my case I had the empty box and when I go to pay for it the cashier tells me that they don’t have it! That they’ve been out since NOVEMBER of 2014 and it is now JULY of 2015 THATS 8 MONTHS! So why are you advertising a product you don’t have! I ended up leaving ALL of my items and ended up going to another baby’s r us which is a lot bigger. However the cashier was really nice and kind. I don’t blame him I blame management!!!

I normally purchase online, but I had an awesome coupon from my baby registry. Also had to make a return, which was hassle free. Felt all special with the «Stork Expectant Mothers» Parking, very helpful when your so far along that it’s hard to walk anymore (:

Most of the employees are helpful, but some employees are lost and do not know what there doing.

Just came here to get my nephew a gift card. When I walked in a mom was carrying her son walking in a hurry looking for the restroom. An employee was passing by and totally ignored the mom when she was asking where it was. The rest of the staff were much to occupied with talking to each other then to help other customers waiting for assistance. Horrible place. I’m amazed this place is still open. Never coming here again. If I need to buy a toy, I’ll just order it online.

I haven’t to any Toy r us for a long time, the one thing I really are the Lego that was my childhood toy favorite because and you can use your imagination to build things. Now so many Lego movie theme toys like Star wars and comic book theme like Batman & Robin and Marvel. The latest movie are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Guardians of the Galaxy.. Like the Lego Dax and Rocket.

As I’m waiting here at toys r us, I decided to write a review.
I ordered my item online and decided to do a store pick up to save some time especially since it’s always so chaotic and disorganized here. However, the store pick up wasn’t any better. I’ve been waiting here for over 10 minutes just to get my item. Shouldn’t it be ready in the back for someone to grab in a jiffy? I guess not. So much for being a convenient store pick up.
I highly recommend just going to the store and looking for the item as opposed to ordering it online.

Reviving independent toy/​hobby shops (much like the rest of LA is busy reviving independent bookstores) has been a backburner idea for me. I’m just waiting for the right place and time.
UNTIL THEN! I am a Toys R Us kid, alright I’m not a kid, but I still enjoy legos, nerf guns, and board games. Whenever I need to by the kids in my family presents for birthdays, this is the place I come to, the selection is incredible!
I occasionally buy a board game for myself as well. :D

I know their slogan is «I don’t want to grow up,» but to be blunt, someone needs to grow up with maintaining/​managing this location, because I’m very close to having a tantrum of my own…
Overall, the store is presentable, but it seems somewhat disorganized and chaotic as a whole. Associates are hard to come by, and when you do find one, there are usually trailed by 3 – 4 additional people who are also looking for assistance.
An example of a personal experience, I came in looking for a specific electronic item, and after checking online, I knew it was in stock. I went to the location and one associate in the department had no idea what I was talking about, and a second said «if it’s not on display, then we’re out.» After asking for a manager, they acknowledged that they had some, but in «the back». After he disappeared for 24 minutes, he came back saying «There are too many unopened boxes in the back and he doesn’t have time to look for my item.»
Needless to say, other experiences here have been very lackluster. However, the issue seems to be with their staffing levels. The employees I usually see on the floor appear frustrated, flustered, and overwhelmed. I’ve NEVER seen more than three check stands open when there are more than 10 people in line.
Overall, location is a little chaotic, and always seems understaffed. Floor employees seem unknowledgeable about products when asked. Come here only if absolutely necessary.

Decent Toys R US store, its not one of those rag-​tag shops.
This location is just around the corner of the Montebello Mall. Walked inside the aisles are clean and solid. My go to spots are always the Transformer shelf and checking out the electronic/​gadget departments.
Toys aside, I wish they had stocked more of the St Clair Ice Cream bars in their Ice cream chiller, (yeah the strawberry flavored one!) which in turn they ran out, empty nada… Dang! Toys R Us people you would had gotten an impulse sale from me that day.

They are so slow here. I think it would have been faster if I got the merchandise myself and then checked out. The merchandise pickup is a joke. I got an email saying that my things were ready for pickup. What a joke. The CS representative admitted to the other representative that she didn’t process it yet. Really? Deep Calming Breaths. Sigh. But at least I was faster services than the other two people in front. Smh.
However — this location is close to me and pretty convenient to come pick up. The CS representatives are hit or miss. Sometimes they’re pretty awesome, and then, not so awesome. :)
