Dental Ville

I’d been going here for a while as it was covered under my parents’ insurance and it was convenient as it’s close and they open on Saturdays.
People are usually nice enough, and I haven’t had trouble scheduling appointments.
The place mostly caters to young kids. They play kids’ shows and have video games. As they have mostly kids, the waiting room is not too clean. Eh…
I stuck it out but now I’m done with them for the following:
I got my own insurance over a year ago and have been there at least twice since. On my last visit, (standard cleaning) I was told I had really good insurance (my parents’ insurance coverage sucks, btw) and I just paid for my copayment and that was that. Cool.
A month later, I get a bill (under my dad’s name — at MY new address) for close to $ 175. For standard X-​Rays and a cleaning.
I tried calling about it last Thursday, and was told they were closed for the day, so try the next day. I called the next day (Friday) and was told that the Montebello office was closed again! Whatever…
I waited a few days and called on Wednesday. Closed! I was frustrated and asked if they were ever open… so the girl says she thinks they’re open tomorrow but she’ll check for me. I’m placed on hold — and all of a sudden there’s someone to take my call. I tell the lady my situation and she tells me to call on Friday because that’s when the manager’s in. Sigh. I hope they’re open then

Horrible-​Horrible-​Horrible Dentist Selena!
I received great customer service from the receptionist, but Dentist Selena was absolutely horrible. I switched to this place because it claimed to be very child friendly, «everyone in the office works well with children, even young children» is what the person said when I called. Well I guess they forgot about Dr. Selena — she tried to force my 2 year old daughter’s mouth open so that she could count her teeth, then when my daughter started crying, her response was «mommy hold her tighter», and tried once again to force her mouth open but more aggressively. Needless to say, I walked out of there never to return. Do not take your children to this dental office, plus the waiting room is pretty disgusting.
