Children’s Dental FunZone, Montebello

What a great staff and experience. Fabby and Maria were a great help and dr siamak and dr mo were exceptional and made us feel very comfortable. I definitely recommend this place for your little ones.

CUSTOMER BEWARE!!! DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE TOYS AND iPADS.
We’d been going here for about a year. Upon our first visit they found our 3 year old had two cavities on the two top front teeth. The first dentist we saw said that they were cavities that were small enough to monitor every two months. We continued to use their services every two months, and at the fifth visit we got another dentist which at this time was a pediatric specialist dentist who said our son needed crowns on those two teeth ASAP. They went from lets monitor his teeth, to them wanting to give him crowns, whiskey tango foxtrot!!!
Seriously, when they told me this, my wife couldn’t be there, she had to tend to a meeting at work, I couldn’t believe what they were telling me? They said if our son couldn’t do the procedure sitting on his own, (keep in mind they were going to charge us 350 for the numbing every time, which they «discounted» some 200) he had to be strapped, and if that didn’t work, we would have to go with the iV sedation for 1000. I text my poor wife, and knowing her, I’m sure she was in tears from what needed to be done.
Anyhow, after we were done, my son and I were sent out to the front to hurry and schedule the procedure, but as I began to realize all of the visits we had, were never recorded. I asked the receptionist about it, and she said they didn’t have any records of us being there??? Excuse me! I beg your pardon? Again, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, keeping it together, I told them I’d get back to them ASAP because I needed to talk it over with my wife. I left there feeling desperate and hoping to get it done immediately only wanting to do was was right for our child.
We had decided on going with the iV sedation not wanting our son to go through all the pain headaches. We called them once, we called them twice, and continued to call them, with no answers, and after several messages we left, and with no response from «FUN ZONE.» Finally they get back to us only to tell us they would get back to us?
That’s when we went ahead and opted for a second opinion. BEST DECISION IN A LONG TIME!
We went to a regular dentist who our neighbor recommended, and after that dentist viewing our son’s teeth, proceeded to clean out the cavities and feel them in. I was confused, as I told him that he needed crowns??? He laughed and said he did not need crowns, and asked me where I had received that information from. I told him not being specific about where, he continued to laugh and say our son was ok and only needed fills.
«FUN ZONE» failed us miserably. They don’t care about you, or more so the well being of your child, but more so about the money. If we could go back, we would’ve never stepped foot in that door.
By the way after all this, fun zone did call my wife a month later, only to hassle her about the deposit. My wife informed them that we had already gone somewhere else to get our son taken care of. Sounding disappointed they lost money, not a customer, hung up on my wife.
In closing, please do yourself a favor and get a second opinion about procedures places like this are doing, especially when it comes to your little ones who you have to make a decision for knowing its all on you when it’s all said and done.

Everyone in the staff is very friendly and patient! Everyone goes out of their way to comfort my kids when they seem nervous and the office has iPads and toys for them to play with while they are waiting. Thank you for making this a fun experience for my kids!

I like to come here because they are really good at doing their job and they are really nice too.

Let me just start off with saying I’M BEYOND DISAPPOINTED IN HOW MOST OF THE STAFF HANDLED MY CHILDREN’S APPOINTMENTS.
My 4 children started their initial visit and treatment visit in their Eagle Rock office by the way they are great all staff is wonderful always happy always smiling well at least those two times that I went was a great an awesome experience…
1. I called on Thursday morning to schedule my children’s appointment for their 6-​month follow-​up.
The girl who answered the phone did not let me ask my question before she rudely interrupted me and wanted to rush me off of the phone.
(I think she said that date because I called her out on her rudeness).
So, I said fine! Go ahead and schedule for May 21^st but let’s schedule for my other two what’s the soonest you have for them it’s very important that they be seen sooner since they both had treatment at the Eagle Rock office and need to be seen ASAP for their 6-​month follow-​up check-​up. She said I can bring them in on Friday at 1, ok fine let’s schedule it…
I of course call The Eagle Rock office and did a complaint to the office manager there and told her how rude the receptionist was at the Montebello office.
I arrived at 1 or 1:30 on Friday afternoon with my children and when I walked in the receptionist didn’t know I contact with me and said sign in have a seat and we’ll be with you shortly right away knew that was the person I spoke to when I called to schedule my children’s appointment.
I waited about 10 to 15 minutes before she called me up and said to me that they were waiting for some forms to be faxed to them from the other office and to just wait and be seated and someone will call my children in.
After about 45 minutes to 1 hour my children get called in. The assistant that took my children’s x-​rays was okay she was not rude she was not friendly for her to be working with children she didn’t really know how to handle speaking to a child. the gentleman that worked on my children was very NICE funny and definitely knew how to keep my children at least not being nervous she was very friendly very very professional. I didn’t get all the assistance names butt there was one assistant and that really really stood out to me and she had such a long face she passed by me and stared me down she had such a horrible horrible attitude she made me feel very uncomfortable there was a lot of tension in that office it was unbelievable.
My child needed one more x-​ray because he didn’t bite down hard enough. The doctor asked the girl that took the x-​rays to please retake that x-​ray. Well this is where it gets worse a woman comes in with her two or three children mind you they also had an appointment they brought them in set them down the mother had a baby in her arms and all the stuff in the back except for the gentleman and the doctor of course walk away from the treatment area to a little room to the right and totally ignored us when the doctor said to take the x-​rays they started talking to the woman that brought in her child for the appointment in the other room and there was about I can say about 7 or 8 nurses all huddled in the little room crazy the little baby I mean it was so unbelievable that they were all ignoring the patient’s care just too and talk to the woman that brought in her little baby very unprofessional one of the staff members even asked me to post it on Unilocal I told that person all I am going to post it on Unilocal this is totally unacceptable and totally ridiculous that I have to sit here and wait for the girls to come back out and treat my children because they want to go in the Next Room and talk I mean it was ridiculous it’s as if they were having a little party I can keep on going on and on but today’s experience was unbelievable it was the worst experience ever so one of the nurses came out of the room I asked her excuse me my child needs x-​rays the girl that was supposed to take the x-​rays walked into the other room over there where you guys are all at with the patient’s mom and baby can you please take his X-​rays she was very nice and said yes she had braces. About a few minutes later I noticed almost all the nurses walk out and just stared at me very ugly I didn’t make any face expressions to anyone but the experience that I had was terrible terrible terrible terrible I scheduled a 6-​month appointment for my children BUT I WILL NOT RETURN I don’t mind driving to Eagle Rock for the 6-​month follow-​up mind you I live in Montebello as well about half a mile away from the dentist I rather drive 30 TO 40 miles away and get treated with greater service than drive half a mile away and get totally ignored and get totally disrespected would I recommend this place to anyone no!!!

Staff is very professional, quick and courteous. My children were terrified of coming to the dentist at first now they have no worries what so ever.

Ashley, and Norma helped us. My daughter was terrified to come to the dentist and the entire staff made it such an amazing experience. Thank you Dr and staff at Childrens Dental Fun Zone!

I love coming because Dr. Cima always is great with my kids. They always feel safe and comfortable. The only bad part would be the wait time. But for the care they receive I’d wait.
:(I just found out dr. Cima is no longer here… hopefully they get the same kind of care

Dr Wences did an amazing job taking care of my child and made him feel comfortable since he was nervous. Love this dentist. It’s very clean and kid friendly, the staff is also very nice

i love this place so much for my baby he’s 3years old and a hand full
he use to go to another place (altar med) and they mess up his teeth badly and they were so mean and roughy with him they never put my baby asleep or gave him any sedative they only numb him and tied him down and thew me out the room they gave me a paper saying if they can yell at my son if he doesn’t stay still so i quickly left that place and found fun zone
fun zone they are sooo amazing and they let me stay with him thew everything and make sure my son is clam and feels no pain
i love that they care for my baby and make sure i’m ok as well, their very well coming and careing. please take your kids hear they are so alsome u would never regret it

Having a rambunctious 3 year old is tough enough! Having a rambunctious 3 year old with cavities is a whole another level!
I know, I know, a 3 year old with cavities! He’s got a sweet tooth! Lucky for us, we were referred here by my dentist.
Doctor Cima and Maria were very professional and accommodating. They explained what was going to be done and we were outta there within the hour! They were so soothing to my boy, that he fell asleep while they were working on him! I can assume there was minimal to no pain. We have gone back again and had the same excellent service! The iPads and toys make it fun for the kiddos too!
Totally recommend this dental office!

I’ve been going to this place for a few years with my sisters. They have a great staff and try to help out with your daily teeth hygiene as much as possible. I recommend anyone to this place

Worst experience ever unprofessional my 4year son suffers from anxiety it just made it worse he’s traumatised n he even passed out while he was been seen all from the pain cause they didn’t make sure he was pain free before the started to painful to talk about it!

I took my daughter this morning through a referral from my dentist. She has high aniexty and a fear of dentists. The first fifteen minutes of us walking through the doors, a nice staff member came over amd asked if we would like coffee or water. Never in my whole was I ask what I wanted to drink at a dentist office. The had tables, movie and toys for my child to play with. And they even had the kids do a craft as we waited! And when we took back to do xrays, the lady was super friendly and gentle with my child. I was really surprised! The doctor was just as amazing. He was super nice and gentle with my child and we didnt have as much problem as we did with Western Dental. I am can’t wait to go back amd experience the awesome customer service!

My daughter was very comfortable with the dentist, but the front desk was not on their job. I checked in, sat there for over 30 minutes, received a phone call asking me to call to reschedule my daughter’s missed appointment. I walked up to the receptionist to ask if I needed to fill out new patient paperwork. This was my daughter’s first visit, she had no cavities, did not receive the new patient welcome back pack, toy or certificate of having no cavities. My neighbor referred me to this location, my rating for the front desk area is 0, but I like the dentist and oral hygienist.

A few weeks ago I stopped by just to get some information and they where to see my daughter, and full exam was done.
When we came back she was a little nervous for her treatment. When she got on the dental chair the DR was great with her! The Dr. talked to her, she even sang to her during her treatment to make her feel better.

I don’t know any thing about their services, but experienced their company van erratically driving on the freeway in the fountain valley area. The van was cutting people (me) off and driving in two lanes. If you want to advertise your business, this is not the exposure you are looking for.

We have been coming here for about a year with our 3 yo. She gets so excited to come here. It’s literally like shes going to chuck e cheeses! She leaves with toys every time! The staff, Dentists, and dental assistants are all great with children. Every time I come here I am reminded how great this place is. Wish this was around when I was a kid. I Have recommended all my family and friends.

By far the best dentist experience my kids have had, very kid friendly, all staff is very attentive and explain everything very well. Im just glad i found a place to bring my kids and they wont be scared because of their pleasant experience here. Im literally in the room now while they work on my kid and i hear no crying no moving around in pain, nothing. I’m a happy mom and shes a happy kid watching a movie right above her head while they work on her

Very pleased with the service. Loved the staff very friendly my kids are happy with their dental check up. Also very happy with the payment plans they set me up with affordable just love it!!!

Having the good fortune to travel for a living in my younger years, I have had the ability to eat «regional» foods from the places that made them famous.
You know, crab cakes from Baltimore, lobster from Maine, pizza from New York & yes cheesesteaks from Philly. (Both Pat’s & Geno’s) I never thought that I would ever be able to experience that quality again, unless I was back east.
Boy, was I wrong. Philly John’s not only delivered on the cheesesteak taste. (Well seasoned beef, soft pillowy bread, tender fresh veggies.) But the sides were well prepared as well.
My wife enjoyed the pizza fries (I think the marina sauce was delicious) and a sampler combo. All the Veggies on The sampler were well cooked, not too much batter, and piping hot!
The house made root beer was awesome as well, worth the order if you’re a root beer aficionado.
It’s too bad I have to drive 20 miles to enjoy this, but also kind of good. If it was closer, I would be heavier! A must try if you’re in a 20 mile radius.

Great facilicy! We have 3 kids, and bring them all here. Our youngest is severely autistic, and is terrified of the dentist. The Doctors here are always very understanding, they speak with him in soothing tones, and make every attempt to get any needed procedure done quickly and with as little tramau as possible.
They are great about not making him wait in the waiting room, as long as we check in they’ll let us wait in the car, until he is ready to go directly into a exam room. (If you have an autistic child, you know how tramatic the time spent in the waiting room can be.)
The doctors have all been patient, and understanding, and the office staff has been the same. The office is busy, but well worth the wait.

I took my kids to these place 3 times.
The first time we had a great experience. They were quick to take my kids in and they were soo sweet.
My kids needed a lot of work. They gave me a price and I paid it thinking I was getting quality work. This was not the case.
Both my son and daughter had their caps fall off after receiving a ridiculous amount of root canals.
I took them both in as and emergency to get the caps replaced. After waiting 3 hours in the waiting room we just left.
Then my daughter started complaining of a sore jaw. Come to find out they left a large piece of root in her gums. When I asked about replacing the crowns. They did for my daughter but not for my son.
I took them in about 8 months ago again for another cleaning and an estimate for more work to be done. Again I got another ridiculous price.
I decided this time I’m not paying it!
I went to another dentist this last weekend and for the same work their costs are ¹⁄₃ what these people were going to charge me.
Over all I would not recommend this place to ANYONE!
The girls that work in the front office are rude!
The dentists were nice as were the techs working on my children.
But the way they do things are very unprofessional.

We were looking for a dentist for our son and came across this office as soon as we walked our son liked the environment with games and disney channel on the television everyone is very help and attentive to the kids and the parents will not look no more this is our dentist.
If u have a kid nervous to go to the dentist I would recommend this place.

Been coming here since we moved to Montebello 5 years ago and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Kids love love it here too. Staff is very friendly and attentive.

My visit on 08/​10/​2015 was great. Everyone was nice and I seen so much teamwork going on. Dr. Hung was the sweetest.

Some of our worst fears as a child and deep rooted anxieties as adults stem from unfortunate experiences at the dentists.
Unfortunately for my daughter she has been tramatized from a horrific experience with an utterly incompetent dentist.
After such an experience I searched and searched for a different location and came across Children’s Dental Funzone.
Children’s Dental Funzone is packed with essentials to captivate a child’s attention and create a fun place that harbors no fear for children who are anxious about the dentist. They have everything from t. v’s to fish tanks that resemble «Finding Nemo» to a game room with iPads loaded with fun games and a table for arts and crafts for the more imaginative children. Inside they have tv’s hanging from the ceiling so that the children can watch a movie of their choice while they are receiving dental service.
This particular location in Montebello not only specializes in children’s dental, but has superior customer service in comparison to many places that I’ve experienced myself.
Staff members are very friendly, understanding and extemely helpful. They greet you and make you feel welcome the moment you step in the door no matter if they are in their peak hours and have many patients to service. They were extremely patient with my daughter’s anxiety and were amazing with her.
They are patient and kind and have a person who’s sole responsibility is to walk around and make sure patients and parents are comfortable and taken care while waiting in the reception area. This woman is courteous and compassionate. She helps explain any paper work that may cause confusion and she she offers water or coffee to parents. She entertains the children with mini arts and crafts projects and goes beyond standard customer service.
All staff members here are amazing but this one woman in particular goes above and beyond, her name is Jacqueline and she is amazing.
I highly recommend and am very happy with the service They provide here.

Dr. Rodef & dr. Sima have been seeing my boys for 2 years now! I prefer the Montebello location because their very helpful and the wait time is short.
