Harriman Square Deli

We look forward to having Pret A Harriman Square Deli every time we are in NYC. It is exceptional! We wish we could buy more to bring home (or have a Magnolia’s open near us!).

I’ve now been going to this deli for three years since moving to Harriman. I started out living next door, and two years later I moved a few minutes away, but I kept coming back. I’m about to move out of the area altogether, and I’m going to miss this place more than anything else.
Everyone who works here is friendly; they all know my name and say hello when I walk in the door. The food is good *and* cheap, and it’s *real* food, not the processed junk at someplace like Dunkin’ Donuts or McDonald’s. They’ll cook you just about anything on their grill during breakfast and lunch hours, and they have hot food trays on weekdays. (I love the kielbasa when they have it!) They’ve cheerfully adjusted to my neurotically shifting diet, too. (No bread? Eggs with everything? Sure. Oh, no eggs this year? Potatoes now?) :-)
There’s not much seating here (just a single small table and a couple of chairs), so everything is effectively take-​out. But oh, what wonderful take-​out it is. If I wasn’t moving, I’d be coming back here every day for years to come.
