Oh my gosh this was the worst crawfish I have ever eaten. What ever they use to season them with was extremely oily and seemed like cinnamon. I gag thinking about my experience here. They weren’t cheap by any means. I have NEVER left uneaten crawfish like I had to here.

Great for what it is! This is a counter based restaurant where you walk up and order your food. They call your number when it is ready. They have booths and tables to sit in, and a soda machine to serve yourself. We tried the oyster poboy, shrimp alfredo and gumbo. Oysters were fried perfectly and came out hot and soft, and PLENTIFUL. They feed you here! The Alfredo sauce was rich and creamy and had a ton of shrimp on it. My only complaint would be that the shrimp were very salty. They could be seasoned without any salt and still be full of flavor. The real hit was the gumbo. Best I’ve ever had! It was rich with flavor and had lots of shrimp and okra in it, with a bit of a kick. A must have if you eat here! If it is not spicy enough for you, they have hot sauce on the tables. For our plates and sides and drinks, the bill was only around 35 $ for two. For the amount of food they gave us, and the quality, it was a good deal!

My first time visit and I’m giving the Boiling Pot and 5 stars. The food was fresh and cooked to perfection. I’m big on serving sizes… now days, you don’t get the amount you pay for. I ate til my stomach was about to pop and I still had a to-go box. Definitely visiting here again.

The quality was horrible and way overpriced. Being close to the gulf we were expecting better quality food. The food was salty and over seasoned. The Alfredo sauce tasted like it came from a can. The crab stuffed fish had a lot of shell pieces. I had to spit out every bite. I ended up leaving it unfinished. So gross. We read the reviews before coming in and they were lies. It was not good.

We discovered this place late in our month in Mobile but will make it back for sure. The food is absolutely delicious and reasonably priced considering what you get. We order the mahi mahi(incl. 2 sides $ 13) and the catfish Pierre(incl. 2 sides $ 10). Both were outstanding! The Pierre was 2 healthy pieces of catfish covered in a rich and creamy sauce with either crawfish or shrimp, maybe both. I’d order it again… and again. We also tried the fried shrimp(10 pc. for $ 10 incl. 2 sides). Another hit! The mix of sides were corn, cheese grits, shrimp jambalaya, and broccoli casserole. All were simply amazing. Regarding the criticisms of the service, I suppose I understand. The person at the cash wasn’t particularly friendly, at least not to us. The service is a little slow and it doesn’t look like it’s as efficient as it could be. But considering it’s an order-at-the-counter type restaurant, service isn’t really what the place is about. I would dock one point for that but then I’d reinstate a bonus point for the exceptional food and value.

The food here is ALWAYS amazing! The food is a little pricey but it is always fresh, hot and delicious. You will never get a single piece of food that has been sitting under a heat lamp. Any issues I have ever had hve been squashed immediately by the staff. The menu ha changed a little but that allows them to focus more on a few items instead of spreading themselves too thin. The fried green tomatoes, crawfish poboys, fried shrimp poboys, gumbo and even their French fries are amazing. We’re eating there for dinner as well! Great food & great price!

The prices have skyrocketed here. The food quality has gone way done. And the time management skills are horrible. I feel like when I order something, I have to wait it seems like forever and 6 mins to get my food. I want the old boiling pot back. This new updated boiling pot just ain’t gonna get it with me.

If I could give zero stars I would. Horrible experience with the kitchen staff… They were cursing and being so incredibly rude. We ordered over $ 100 worth of food for our family of 9. There was a mix up with our order and we didn’t get a couple of our dishes. The staff was so incredibly rude and impossible to work with to try to resolve the issue. When we explained we did not appreciate the rude treatment, there was absolutely no apology. We usually frequent this place but will not any longer. I would not recommend simply dude to their horribly unprofessional staff.

Geez. I had never heard of this place. When we were trying to decide what we wanted for lunch, my coworker recommended The Boiling Pot. Thinking I could go for some fried shrimp, we called an order in. I got popcorn shrimp, broccoli, and hushpuppies. My coworker got white fish, cheese grits, and one other side(can’t remember). I was told that it would be 15 minutes so I showed up 20 minutes after making the order, ensuring it would be ready so I could get back to the office. When I arrived the girl at the counter had the WORST attitude. Snapping and talking in a condescending tone. She had ZERO personality. I felt like I was lining up to get a shot. Not pick up delicious gulf coast seafood. Okay so I told her my name on the order and she looked at two orders on the counter that were mine and THENPUTTHEORDERIN. I mean WHAT was the point of calling ahead? It was lunch time so there was a rush and I had to wait 20MORE minutes for my food! I couldn’t believe it. I was so pissed. Honestly, I would have overlooked it but it was the combo of the eye rolling and lip smacking I got from the check out girl that had me looking for a manager. Now let me pause to tell you the atmosphere is bleak to say the least. It is in a strip mall and very very sad. Its not the place isn’t clean, it is. Its beige walls with ZERO artwork or design on the walls whatsoever. It is the cold and weird vibe that carries through the restaurant. When you walk in, there is no smiling face to welcome you, in fact, I wasn’t sure where to go when I first walked in. The stone floor adds to the cold interior and just sad. When I go to a seafood restaurant, I want texture. Warmth. An aged feeling.(Do you know what I mean!?) Anyways, back to the order, our food was good. Not great, but okay. The portions were about right for the $ 11 price tag. The shrimp was fresh and the breading was just right. The hushpuppies were dense and unmemorable. The broccoli was well steamed and seasoned. My coworker liked his food and had no complaints. Its a shame this place was such a disappointment. And I could have overlooked the restaurant décor if the girls behind the counter hadn’t been so darn rude. Needless to say, I won’t be back.

Amazing food and an amazing selection. The jumbalaya is out of this world, and the fried shrimp has a great flavor. This is a new favorite seafood joint in Mobile. Reasonable prices too. Definite recommend for seafood in Mobile!

Seemed a little understaffed. The staff that was there moved slow and seemed to have an, I dont care, attitude. Food was fine. Its hard to mess up fried shrimp though.

I got the crawfish po boy as my last gulf coast /local food stop before leaving town. I ate a lot of good food while in Mobile and this was not up to the par of other places. Food was so-so(but not bad) but in general the restaurant seemed kind of dirty and poorly maintained. Can’t recommend it, but it wasn’t terrible.

Awesome food, but it has a serve yourself atmosphere. You can sit down and eat, but if you need anything… you have to get it yourself. The food is really good .

Good food made to order. It is hard to get lunch and get back to work in an hour. Booths were in really bad shape for restaurant. It was quite pricey for what you get. There is nothing about this place that I could see that would keep anyone coming back.

Could be cleaner but they serve pretty decent seafood cooked to order. Even though it was empty food takes a while to cook. Royal Reds are really good.

This place is pretty good. I got the crawfish poboy with a side of fries, and my girlfriend got the grilled catfish with green beans and grits. It took about 12 minutes to get our food, but they were busy, so it’s understandable. My plate was pretty good, I had more crawfish than I could eat, and everything was hot and fresh. I had better luck than my girlfriend. Her catfish was over seasoned, and her grits were bland and soupy. Her dish was served on a glass plate, but the sides were served in Styrofoam containers, so were the drinks. It was kind of strange, but I’ll definitely try this place again.

We stopped here for po-boys while driving through Mobile and, unfortunately, were not impressed. The menu we viewed on UrbanSpoon was outdated and led us to assume prices would be reasonable. But, having just come from New Orleans, I could confidently say that they were higher than that of 5-star establishments in the Quarter! And the taste doesn’t begin to compare. We ended up splitting a grilled crawfish po-boy and fries and my fiancé had a side of jambalaya. They give the illusion of «overstuffed» sandwiches by putting a bit of the seafood loose in the box but, while my fiancé’s half was adequately full, mine had places with no crawfish at all. The bread was fine — probably fresh but not melt-in-your-mouth fresh. To me, the crawfish tasted frozen; they were plain and brought little to the meal. The crinkle fries also tasted frozen with the usual Cajun mixed seasoning sprinkled on. My fiancé said the jambalaya was the second worst he’d ever had — the first being from a free hotel happy hour in Mobile. So basically, this is just overpriced Cajun-esque food that could easily be replicated by visiting your grocer’s freezer section. We do not recommend it.

Gave this place a second chance and it just got worse. We will not go back. I ordered the 3 lb steamed shrimp with 3 sides… $ 33 and the shrimp was so over cooked we couldn’t peel them so I brought them back. They handled the return very well and brought a fresh 3 lbs to the table. But the shrimp were just as bad. They were very hot, we thought /hoped it would be better but they were very hard if not impossible to peel and like rubber. It’s so easy to steam/boil shrimp… You don’t have to worry about seasonings really or anything, you just can’t overcook them or they will be tough and hard to peel. We will not give them another chance. There are too many places to buy fresh boiled shrimp cooked to perfection in the area.

I’ve never been disappointed by the food here. But this is one of those sandwich type reviews where you say something good, then not so good, then end with something good to take the sting out of the bad thing. — The food was great. — I ABHOR sitting on ripped seats. I abhor it. It is an abhorrence. It skeeves me out. Literally, I imagine sitting on the ripped part and bugs being in the foam. And I itch*. So, we went to find a seat on the right side of the restaurant and all the ones to choose from in a booth were ripped. Some even had the filling coming out of the seats. SKEEVED. We were with a group so my husband put his jacket down so I wouldnt have to deal, but then I wouldn’t let him put it back on until I washed it. So, he’s pretty pissed because he was just trying to do something nice for me. See how ripped seats can cause problems in a marriage? — Oh. We ordered an appetizer. When we inquired about it, they said it cane out the same time as the food. Newsflash: That makes it a side. — The appetizer/side was delish! Employees were friendly. Place was clean. I would go back here again, but from now on, I have to get it to go. Because skeeves. *Yes, I realize that this is abnormal.

This is a casual dining spot where you order and pick up your food at the counter. I ordered the fried seafood platter and gumbo. The platter comes three kinds of seafood including oyster, choice of catfish or white fish, popcorn shrimp, and two sides. The popcorn shrimp can be replaced with jumbo shrimp for additional fees, which I did. The seafood is as fresh(and delicious) as it can be, however, the sides seems to be an afterthought(3.5 Stars). The gumbo is ok — nothing special. I didn’t quite like it and thought the flavor wasn’t as deep as the ones I had in New Orleans(3 Stars). Like some reviewers mentioned, some staffs can use some enthusiasm and charm, but it wasn’t as bad as how many portrayed.
