What started as a studies abroad program in Costa Rica ended up as a passion for fine coffees from around the world.

I landed in Costa Rica in 1999 with the intention of learning Spanish so I could get a masters degree in international business. That goal changed when, to make some extra money, I opened a small internet café in the port town of Puntarenas, Costa Rica called the Millenium Cyber Café.

In the café, we sold coffee which quickly became very popular and it wasn’t long before I was sending order after order of my freshly roasted Costa Rican Tarrazu

coffee to the United States.

After visiting the plantation where I bought my coffee, and seeing the care and effort that goes in to growing gourmet coffee, a love affair began which has only grown stronger and stronger over the years.

A+ for having different dairy options.
My mocha was okay. The soy was actually steamed very well but I hated the fact that the barista stirred my drink after she had poured the foam to the top so the middle of my drink was basically a hole. I was very disappointed to see her do that and to add to that disappointment, the girl calling out my drink drizzled chocolate on top. I absolutely did not ask for a chocolate drizzle. I did ask for extra chocolate in my mocha but not a drizzle. The drizzle flattened the foam on the top even more in addition to it being stirred and she didn’t even make a pattern. If you are going to show off and drizzle in front of a customer, don’t do a sloppy job and just make it a pit in the middle of the drink.
I understand that it was busy right after the parade so it was probably a really terrible time to get coffee. My mocha did taste alright, and there’s alot I want to like about this café but I really think I’ll have to come back when its slower. I just can’t get over the fact that the barista steamed the soy so perfectly and it pretty much got trampled on with a spoon and a drizzle. Its like there is no respect for the drink at all.

The staff was really nice and patient. I wasn’t sure what to call the drink I wanted (Starbucks calls it a misto) so they were quick to teach me the proper term which is café au lait :) The coffee is delicious! Definitely recommend this gem if you’re visiting downtown Mobile.

This place was right next to my hotel (Renaissance Riverview). I decided to venture down there this morning to grab some coffee and a bagel sandwich.
Since I’m from Philadelphia, it’s Iced Coffee weather in Mobile so I got a large sized iced coffee (there is only a small and large). The coffee was pretty good and they had the option for Iced Coffee cubes, which i obviously got.
The bagel sandwich was very soggy and weird when I got it. It also took forever to get (nothing like Dunkin Donuts standards). I wish they would have toasted the bagel instead of making it chewy and slimy.
I thought I would also mention that this place also has a full bar… but I guess that’s a Southern thing.
Overall, it’s probably cheaper than getting food in the hotel and a little more local so it’s fun to try on a business trip. I’ll probably go back tomorrow but I would find some place better if I was a local person.

Serda’s was a pleasant surprise in the heart of Mobile.
I’ll be honest, upon walking in, I was more prepared to have the theme music to Friends chime in and Gunther take my order than to be asked if I wanted coffee ice cubes. Let me explain: Serda’s is a picture perfect «coffee shop,» a place where your favorite characters from a ‘90s sitcom would come and order a caramel frappé with extra whip and chocolate drizzle, not a place where you can get down and nerdy about trends in 3rd wave coffee.
And while I’m sure the cappuccinos here are 1⁄3 foam and not all at reminiscent to a flat white, my americanos each day were absolutely delicious, the array of central and south american bean options were impressive, and the coffee knowledge (especially the import business) was vast.
Furthermore, it’s just a cool, centrally located little meeting place with fast and free wifi and plenty of seating. Again, for a self-​professed coffee snob like myself, Serda’s was an absolutely wonderful surprise and did the trick on multiple occasions during my short stay in Mobile.

This place has a lot of positives… the menu seems good, the location is in downtown and a really cool place. The cost seems reasonable, so nor, ally I might give it a higher rating, but the girl at the counter was not very impressive. Seemed more interested in getting my money and moving me though then ensuring I have a good experience. This lace could be great with better trained staff.

This is a pretty good restaurant. Sir Da has him all kinds of good stuff. You can get you a hot coffee from all different places in Mexico like Brazil and Kenyer. You can get you a milkshake. You can get you a egg. Don’t nobody care. I got me a peeny which is a chicken sandwich. And some chips. Lays. Regular lays yella bag. I had to get me a orange juice cause they didn’t have no cokecola but it was still pretty good.
Some of the people that goes here has weird drawings and holes on they self but hey! we is all human beans we is all eaters.

So let me start off by saying that I just recently moved here from Houston, TX and found this coffee shop a week ago. Since then I’ve been there 4 more times… and I am currently contemplating whether or not I want to go again tomorrow; however I’m a college student… and on a budget, so id like to not go broke.
Breakfast bagel sandwiches are the
! I got a ham, egg and cheese sandwich on a wheat bagel (Delish!) They are very generous with their portions and worth every penny.
However, their iced lattes are where it’s at. Iced latte with coffee ice cubes (what?!) and Irish crème syrup… to die for. If I could afford it, I would probably come here every day… and sometimes twice a day.
Definitely my go to spot for coffee from now on. Forget boring chains like Starbucks (no offense to all the Starbucks lovers out there) but the coffee here is just so fresh tasting and has been on point with each visit. Plus who doesn’t love local businesses? Love it here!

I love the the atmosphere of this place! i should have tried this place sooner! I loved my frozen beverage! It had shots of espresso in it! Delicious! Hope everyone can try this place out!
I love the selection of the coffees they had offered. I even bought a concentrated version of their peabody coffee. Hmmmm… yumm…its «rocket fuel.»

I was really disappointed in this place. I love trying out local coffee shops. It was a short walk from our hotel and guests we were staying with wanted to try it out. I ordered a bagel breakfast sandwich and the cashier recommend a flavored latte for me. My husband got a muffin and a plain black roast. The prices were a bit high. I wanted a bottled water and it was $ 4.00. We opted for a free cup to fill up at their soda machine. My bagel was soggy and rubbery. It had clearly been microwaved. I could not even eat half. My coffee tasted way too much like a chemical syrup. My husbands muffin was decent and so was the coffee. Decent… not great. The big kicker was when I went to get some ice and water from the soda machine. I am big on cleanliness and I was a bit shocked with their soda machine. It was filthy and the area where the ice comes out had MOLD on the inside and out!!! So… needless to say, I did not get water. I left frustrated, hungry, and thirsty.

Der Coffee Shop ist gleich in der Nähe des Hafens wo unser Schiff angelegt hatte.
Ob der schon 1989 dort war weiss ich nicht, aber wählt man Mobile als Startort und fährt nach New Orleans was wir getan haben, dann durchquert man nicht nur 3 Amerikanische Staaten nähmlich Alabama Mississippi und Louisiana.
Auch Florida ist auch nicht weit entfernt.
