Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel

this is an excellent hotel in Mobile. the rooms are well-​kept as is the entire hotel. the concierge lounge had some of the best food I’ve seen in these lounges, though the room itself was a little small for the number of people using the place the week I was there. The hotel, on the other hand, is quite large and it can take a while to get to the parking lot from the rooms.
the service was excellent and when my flight was cancelled due to weather, there was no difficulty in extending the stay by a night.

Nice hotel, nice rooms but very noisy if on wrong side — trains, police sirens, etc. (and a maintenance person who incorrectly knocked on my door at 5AM). Marriott breakfast for top travelers average to poor (could we please have some sort of bakery product), bar small with slow service.

We had a great stay here. There was a woman working the desk the night we got in and the morning we left– I think her name was Linesay?– and despite working so much, she was super friendly and inviting. The lobby is large and sparkling clean with nice décor. Our room was large, spotless and richly furnished, the bathroom was spacious and clean and the bed was super comfortable. It wasn’t cheap but I was bale to get a discounted rate. The hotel is also located right in the middle of downtown Mobile, so it’s great if you want to walk around the city. The hotel also offers free wifi and a hot breakfast with a waffle maker, maple sausage, western omelets and a selection of donuts/​muffins/​bagels/​etc., as well as juice and coffee. I’d love to stay here again.

Stayed here for the night after my cousin’s graduation from USA. So far it’s been a really pleasant stay. It’s really nice inside and the rooms are hooked up. It comes with an LG flat screen as well as a fridge. There is a bar downstairs that has a sub par happy hour. It is located near some bars and restaurants all walking distance. There is valet parking as well as self parking. There was an issue with the card key being sensitive but it was resolved fairly quick no hassle. All in all a great hotel in downtown Mobile to stay in.

I stayed at the Renaissance Riverview for a week on a business trip. I arrived on a Monday night around 8pm. Parking was generally pretty easy. If you go right past the load in zone on Royal St, there is the garage. The kind of stinky thing is you have to pay to park. If you are staying for a long period of time they give you a room card kind of thing to let you in and out of the parking garage.
The room itself is very simple. I had two queen size beds and a very beautiful view of the Mobile Bay. You can see the ship yards where they are working on building a bunch of different boats. The beds/​pillows are very comfortable. My first night I ended up falling asleep immediately. The bathroom is a normal size but I couldn’t find a hair dryer in the room, which was a little annoying. The shower pressure is really strong so taking a shower feels amazing. One annoying thing is there are no easy access plugs next to the beds. You have to contort your hand around the bed frame to get access to the one plug there. The alarm clock was functional and loud enough to wake me up at 6am.
The area around the hotel is very nice with a lot of place to eat and drink. I recommend getting breakfast at the coffee shop next door called Serda’s. The hotel is a little expensive for food. But on Tuesdays they do have a free mixed drink. Overall, it’s an overall great hotel to stay at. It’s just while I was there the elevators broke and I had to walk to the 20^th floor which is not that great…

Nice place. Attended a conference at the location. Staff are very helpful. The only thing that could be upgraded is the price of the restaurant and room service. They did discount the rooms for the conference which made it affordable, but if I was on my own, I would not have been able to afford as much. Great view.

Got a great deal for this hotel off of
very near the date when I had to book a room for a recent trip to Mobile. I am weird about valet, and like the opportunity to self-​park so I can come and go as I please., This hotel has a great deal in the parking lot next door where your parking can go on a card they give you (about $ 16 a day, I think) They give you the receipt the day you check out, or they can print it out at the counter.
My hotel room (#1404?) was nice with a seriously amazing view of Mobile Bay (check out my pic!). I do wish there had been more plugs near the bed since I like to plug in my phone nearby, and one was for the lamp and the other for the alarm clock. They had live music on the Monday night I came in, and the guy was really good though I didn’t partake in the lobby bar. They have wonderful local art everywhere, and if you forget your toothpaste, you can find some in their cute little gift shop.
I think this is probably a wonderful hotel to host a conference in, and I definitely think I will find myself here again when I visit Mobile!

If your going to the convention center this is the place to stay. There is a bridge that goes across the busy high way to the convention center super convenient! Also we had a great view of the bay area the room was clean and the complementary shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap was of good quality and smelled great. The glass elevator was an unexpected treat 27 floors high you can see everything, but the key card system inside the elevator was more pain than it was worth.
The $ 14 dollars for parking was over priced especially for what you already paid for the room. The pool area was small for such a large hotel but it was clean and there was extra towels stocked if you needed them. I would defiantly stay here again. Triple A members get a discount when booking on the Marriott website it is worth looking into!

Great location but need to upgrade on providing pay for view and better convenience with mobile plug outlets.

This is a beautiful hotel, located right across the street from the convention center. Our room had a beautiful view of the center and mobile channel! Considering where it’s located downtown, and that we stayed on a Saturday night, we got a great price!
After spending the day at Orange Beach, we got a room here last minute. We booked a double bed room, but at check-​in all that was available was a King suite. They did offer to send up a roll away bed. Unfortunately, we had to wait a couple hours for that, and call a couple times requesting extra towels! They told us they had one housekeeper on staff (even though they were booked to capacity).
Our room was charged for high-​speed internet, even though we did not use it (only the regular is free)! When we called the operator to question it she was extremely rude! She over talked my friend, did not take time to listen to what we were saying, and hung up on us before we even got the opportunity to ask to speak to someone else! We did report that to the front desk, and we hope it was addressed!
Also, when we were arrived the valet told us we could park ourselves in the garage for $ 14 or pay about 4 bucks more for valet. We chose to park ourselves, but when we left the garage the next day we ended up having to pay extra. Their garage attendants reason for this was the hotel should of charged us parking with the room, and the garage is a separate company. So ask about that if you do park yourself!
It is also located across the street from some great places to drink and eat!!!

I literally have to ditto Angie T’s sentiments when she says she couldn’t find one flaw with this hotel! It was pure bliss!
We opted from a room in downtown Mobile after our day at the beach, just because the rooms were cheaper… and found this beauty. Gorgeous lobby with a nice sized bar and beautiful structural fixtures. There was a live band and/​karaōke of some sorts going on when we arrive which was cool. There’s a nice sized gift shop for souvenirs and a few meeting rooms for events and weddings/​receptions.
They were sold out of our initial double queen pick for a room when we arrived and upgraded us to a king suite and gave us a roll away bed. The view of the convention center at night was amazing! The room was clean. soft pillows and even the roll away bed was pretty comfortable.
If you don’t mind the drive from Gulf Shores/​Orange Beach or happen to be in the Mobile area I would definitely recommend this place.
Our only hiccup was a charge for high speed internet that we didn’t ask for and we wanted removed. The 1^st lady we spoke to was über rude, but Maa (If I remember correctly) quickly made the adjustment for us. Can’t let one bad apple spoil your trip right?
Added bonus… there are a few bars and restaurants right across the street if you wanna hang out or grab a bite to eat. (hint hint: The Royal Scam — trust me!)

Fantastic clean friendly accommodations. Fitness center is stocked with headphones towels and water, I know that seems like a given but staying at over 100 hotels a year it is not.
Great views of downtown Mobile and the River.
Happy hour specials are excellent and if you are Gold or Platinum the lounge on the 28^th floor is top notch.

Beautiful modern hotel with a great location. You can valet or easily self park in the attached garage. The staff was really friendly to my kids. There are 4 elevators, 2 of which are glass so free amusement for the little ones! We had a great view and the room was nice, my only complaint is that it smelled like mildew.
I really liked the breakfast buffet on the 2^nd floor, my little ones were free (don’t know the age cutoff), which was nice. Lots of options, fruit, cereal, yogurt, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy. Also a small station for omelettes or waffles.
Great stay, and it is family friendly.

Honestly cannot find a flaw in this hotel. We got it for a steal on Priceline and it’s located in the heart of downtown overlooking the river. The hotel itself is very fancy and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was very nice with a mini fridge, coffee pot and tea. The bed was heavenly with plenty of nice comfy pillows. I thought the shower pressure was *just right* and towels were soft and fluffy. Oh and the wifi was not spotty at all like it can be in some other hotels.
I would definitely stay here again. It is a gorgeous, clean and luxiourious property. Just perfect in every way. Loved it!

Stayed here last week and really enjoyed the room and staff. Bed is a tad on the firm side but plenty of fluffy pillows. AC works true to form and shower head are a tad outdated. Valet parking is great and access to the downtown area is great. parking without valet is separate and ten dollars a day
TIP Ask for a high floor and city view!!!

This was our conference hotel and stayed here for eight days. I got to know staff by name and they knew me but I got great service from the time I walked through the doors. Truly I got great service from the time I pulled up on the lot because people were waiting to park my car and take my luggage to the room.
I was on the 28^th floor with a great view of Mobile Bay. Well worth it to stay here if you are in Mobile. The rooms are well kelp for a little older hotel.

Well. The staff was great. The hotel was nice but really felt pretty old, kinda dark and gloomy. My room smelled awful, like a wet basement and I was on the 22^nd floor. The furniture needs updating. I like strong water pressure in a shower put this was waay too much. Lawsuit waiting to happen. My elderly mom would be bruised and battered afterwards. And use valet, it’s not much more than self park and I thought the garage was scary.

Its a new Renaissance so you really can’t go wrong. Very clean and in a great location in downtown Mobile. It is more for the business person however. If your looking for a vacation hotel stay at the Battle House.
Gym is fine for a business traveler hotel, as is the pool. The concierge level is on the 23^rd floor (if I remember correctly) and offers free breakfast for those that have elite status. If you don’t then breakfast can be had in the lobby for a fee.
Stay on the water side and if your lucky you can see Navy destroyers being built.
Parking isn’t free but you can find ample free parking on the street right in front of the hotel. If you like wasting $ 19 then just send it to me!

I grew up in Mobile & I remember when this hotel used to be the Adams Mark. I’ve never stayed here & always wanted too. After moving away & coming back to visit family this place was our first choice especially for being such a nice place with a government employee rate.
We stayed on the 26^th floor facing the water & the view is amazing, especially at night. The room was quiet, large & extremely comfortable. The beds are so comfy I didn’t want to get up. We had a slight problem with the comforter & the hotel manager came up & apologized. She fixed the issue & gave us free breakfast. How amazing is that!
The bartender is witty & friendly & her drinks were amazing. I’m indecisive & she even suggested great things that I loved. The valet was friendly & quick. They even offered directions & suggestions. I really appreciated the staff here & i’ll be back the next time in Mobile.
