Paradise Bakery & Cafe

Yummy cookies, yummy sandwiches, yummy salads and soups, great value for the price and convenient to my work. What more could I ask for? Nothing really. I like the fact that with all the food options in the Shops at Mission Viejo food court, Paradise Bakery & Café has a lot of healthier options, also.
Because I have very limited time for lunch while at work, I usually call in my order, so it is ready to go when I pick it up. I love the fact that they give hospital employees a discount, too, as we are located across the street from the mall. My favorite things here are the freshly baked yummy cookies, tropical ice tea, mini quiches and sandwich combo deals. With the sandwich combo deal, I usually get the half sandwich one. So, that is half of any sandwich, choice of salad or soup and a cookie. This is under $ 10. It would cost as much to eat at Wendy’s or Jack in the Box and there are much healthier options here.
Their sandwich and salad options are quite plentiful with something for everybody. My favorite sandwiches, hands down are the Roast Beef and Chicken Walnut Sandwich. I love the fresh breads that all their sandwiches come on such as wheat, ciabatta, etc. They have great salads such as pasta salads, BBQ chicken, Caesar salad, Asian salad, etc. They will automatically give you a Chocolate Chip cookie with your combo but you can sub out for any cookie like Oatmeal, Snickerdoodle, White Chocolate Madadamia Nut, etc.
This place opens in the mall at 7 a.m. which is great also to pick up a freshly baked muffin or oatmeal or breakfast sandwich with coffee. Glad I can pop in here conveniently from across the street for great food options during my shift at work or while I am shopping at the mall.

I love all of the food I’ve had but holy crap do the employees at this location need an attitude adjustment. No matter what time of day or who helps me my order/​requests are met with a short reply and no smile. I just watched another interaction between an employee and a customer and they were spoken to the same way. can you at least smile at me while you hand me my morning muffin? Sheesh.

My daughter recommended this place as she usually goes here. We ordered California Turkey sandwich which was extremely salty so I tried to dip d bread in the Tomato soup to make it less salty but it didn’t help as the soup by itself is also extremely salty. I hate wasting food as I know some people are starving but I can’t really take it’s saltiness.

I usually come here for their half sandwich/​half soup. The Fire Roasted Tomato soup is always great… but for some reason, today it was extremely salty. My mom couldn’t even get 2 spoonfuls in! The sandwich we ordered was the California Turkey, too salty also. We don’t know if its the bacon or the turkey that was overpoweringly salty. But the tomato made it edible and tasty enough so that we could finish the sandwich. (We had to take the turkey and the bacon off). The service was meh. They didn’t ask what type of bread or cookie we wanted with the meal. Which was okay, since they gave us white bread and the chocolate chip cookie. Altogether this meal was okay, too salty, but i will come back next time to see if maybe, it was just that batch of soup and turkey that was salty. The cookie is why im willing to give this experience 3 stars: D the cookie was really delicious and tied the whole meal together (even though again, the meal was salty)

The coconut chocolate chip cookie is one of the best I’ve ever had, and I take my chocolate chip cookies very seriously. Service is quick and staff is very friendly. Great place to grab a quick but delicious lunch!

So there you are eating a very healthy Turkey on Wheat when you notice that the server has included a Chocolate Chip Cookie in your meal! What to do? Eat the Trans-​fat bomb, give it to the kid next table over? Your choice! Lots of healthy choices here!

The aesthetics really appeal to me, this place looks and smells like fall. I got 3 mini cookies for $ 1.75, which I think is cheaper than what Mrs. Fields has to offer, but this place is much tastier. I ordered the sugar snaps, ginger molasses, and the all chocolate cookies for my sister. The ginger molasses tasted like chai tea in cookie form and perfectly crunchy and chewy at the same time. I was a little disappointed that I paid for 6 cookies, but one of my chocolate cookies was really one half (or less).

The best chocolate chip cookie ever! It’s buy 6 cookies get 6 free! The chippers are good too. I’ve also tried the cinnamon roll which is delicious. Salad and soups are excellent too! My go to cookie place

First of all, the chicken walnut salad & sandwich are FANTASTIC.
However, any time I want to branch out and try some thing different, I am seriously disappointed! The other sandwiches are as bland as can be! Today, I got a Tuscan Chicken Sandwich and
1. I had to take out the sliced chicken, the texture was awful — as it if was the fatty/​tendon-​y pieces off the end.
2. The tomato was mealy (happens every time I come here) and the basil was wilted and tasteless.
2. It was bland! I actually spooned some of the tomato soup onto the sandwich for flavor. Ended up tasty, but not ideal!
Bottom line, order something with the chicken walnut salad, get the chocolate coconut cookie and you’ll be happy. I hope they bring the other sandwiches up to that level!

No effort. Order a bagel with cream cheese nothing crazy. Menu said bagels fresh from the oven. Um do you mean fresh from a bag. And cream cheese fresh from a package that they hand you. Details make or break you.

This place is the healthiest in the mall. Get the you pick two (it’s a great value). The exotic salad is great, and I love the fire roasted tomato soup. On the Bbq chicken salad, Panera’s is much better flavor. Paradise has pre mixed chicken in Bbq sauce that can be overwhelming in flavor when you’re eating it on top of a salad.
*if you want your sandwich toasted you have to ask for it!*
The reasoning for four stars instead of five–
I always ask for an extra side of balsamic vinaigrette for my sandwich and it hardly ever ends up in the bag.

No matter how busy they are, always fast service with no mistakes.
Best deal if you can’t make up your mind, half sandwich and salad combo. Try out bbq chicken salad. So good with corn and jicama. Meal comes with fresh baked chocolate chip cookie. If it is not your favorite, they will happily to switch it for any other one.
They often run specials on cookies always ask. It is such a great treat to take back home or to the office to treat everybody.
Their coffee is really good too.

Love love love this place! Mostly tried all the chicken sandwiches and all of them are delicious! Not mention the cookie you get with for free! Definitely my favorite breakfast /​lunch take away place when I’m hungry for a sandwich :)

Fave! Their Southwest Caesar Salad is so good, I don’t get it with chicken because it’s so good without it. Their service is always really fast and the only time I go here is during their busy lunch hour since its right across the street.

Delicious Cookies & Sandwiches. Best bakery café in a mall that I have experienced. I had the tuscan chicken sandwich & comes with a chocolate chip cookie. Both were amazing. Don’t miss trying this place even if you get it go. Well worth it! You will not be disappointed.

Having been relocated to the Mid South, and an opportunity to visit out west, Paradise Bakery was one of our dedicated visits. We were not let down, the Turkey Cranberry remained as good as I remember, to be complimented with one of the best Chocolate Chips cookies by any restaurant in the game.
I only wish I saw more influence of Paradise Bakery on to Panera; however I fear it is the other way around

The healthiest joint in the food court and a tasty one at that. Their Albacore Tuna sandwich on wheat is huge and everything, I think, comes with a delicious cookie. Okay, maybe that’s not so healthy, but hey, you can always pass on the cookie. Beats eating all that sodium at Panda Express.
The staff is very friendly. I didn’t catch the girl helping me but she seemed genuinely upbeat. The tuna was already made, they just needed to assemble the sandwich so I’m not sure if every order would come out as fast as mine did.

Five stars on the chocolate chip cookie alone. Seriously, what do they put in that thing?
I work across the street from the mall, and find myself running in for a quick bite more than I like to admit. I’ve tried several of the sandwiches (though the southwest chicken is my favorite) and a few of the salads. The bread is always fresh and the sandwiches are really tasty. PLUS — the sandwiches come with a crack, er I mean, chocolate chip cookie. Did I mention how good those cookies are?

Best cookies hands down the best. If you are in the area you must definitely give this place a try. Variety of cookies, croissants, brownies and yes even bagels. They have it all here, along with coffee, lattes, soft drinks, and cold milk to pair perfectly with one of their delicious cookies. Perfectly made with just the right amount of sweetness to give you that sugar rush you need for the shopping trip. Need a little extra, well they also have a variety of delicious sandwiches, soups and salads. Great prices, great service and above all delicious food and cookies. The cookies are the best ever…
