If I lived in the area, I may just buy an Acura so I can bring it to these guys. Wish I had a shop like this where I live. I had to take in a family vehicle to have it checked out and serviced while being in town. Unaware of the history of the car, I couldn’t provide much help. Mesman Motors was able to service the car and give me an honest breakdown of all the things that are needed to be done to the car. Geoff even walked us out to the car to explain everything in person. Do yourself a favor and take your car to Mesman. Gus, Geoff and Ethan (I think?), thank you very much for your help. It is truly appreciated.

Before finding Mesman Motors, I just assumed that the concept of an auto repair shop that was honest, highly skilled, and cost friendly was a too-​good-​to-​be-​true myth. You could find good mechanics, but usually with some limitations or who were justifiably expensive. But finding a shop that hit all 3 of those characteristics? Like catching a glimpse of Bigfoot or Nessie.
Thankfully, I was wrong… and it turns out some myths are true.
I’ve been coming to Mesman for many years, first to service an Acura Integra, and now a Honda Accord. They may have ditched the old dot matrix printer, but the service is as great as ever. What drove me to write this review was something that happened just this year.
Long story short, I had some serious maintenance work done — including replacement of the timing belt. And it turned out months later that there was a very minor issue with some of the work — but nevertheless, it wasn’t 100% perfect. When I brought this to their attention, Geoff and team dedicated a weekend of free labor getting it 100% right. «A» work (done by a mechanic no longer in their employ) wasn’t good enough for them — they would only deliver «A+» results.
This story is just one of many, but I have always felt that the guys at Mesman care about the cars they work on, and about their customers. They have never recommended any service that wasn’t needed, even contradicting the «advice» of other money-​grubbing shops. And the service they do provide is top-​notch, at prices that don’t make you groan.
I live in Los Angeles now, but I will never stop coming to Mesman Motors for as long as it is in business, even if the drive is significantly longer. And I recommend the same to anyone reading this.

From routine maintenance to major repairs you can’t get any better than Mesman Motors. We have been bringing our cars to Geoff Mesman for more than 20 years. They use authentic parts and fluids which is important to me. Even though we live more than 19 miles away my husband and I won’t go anywhere else. They are the best!

I’m here getting an oil change. This is where I bring my Acura and my wife’s Toyota when either vehicle needs maintenance. Their service is incredible and the pricing is just as good. For instance, my Acura has a turbo and I use synthetic oil when getting an oil change. I change the oil every 5k miles. The cost of an oil change at one of the drive-​through shops is over $ 50 but here at Messman Motors I pay $ 35. I inquired as to why it’s so inexpensive and was told that it’s more of a way to say «thank you» for being a customer. They don’t charge of the oil, only the maintenance.
They have WiFi, which I’m using as I write this review. Geoff is the owner and he’s a great guy. The most important thing for me when choosing a place to service my vehicle is honesty, quality of work, and price. Geoff and his staff are honest and their work is extremely high quality. The price, that’s great, too.
As long as my wife and I own Japanese vehicles, we will be bringing them here for work.

Messman Motors is the best! They were recommended to us by a friend who has gone to them for mechanic needs for many, many years. We have taken our Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler and Honda Odyssey to them in the past 6 months with very complicated issues. Each time they were thorough, efficient and reasonably priced. They are located in a small strip mall with a very bare office. Don’t let that fool you as a sign of their qualifications, expertise and professionalism. It is a family owned business who truly strives to provide the best service possible. They are located in Mission Viejo which is a slight drive for us but well worth it. Recommending them to all of our friends and family!

I have been going to Mesman Motors ever since I moved down to Irvine in 2005. An old coworker told me about them, and after my first visit, I have never gone any where else. Geoff and Gus really take care of you. They are very thorough, accommodating, helpful and patient.
Just two days ago my car broke down in the middle of an intersection. Poof! The first name that came to my mind was Geoffffffffff Mesman! Not God, nor the boss (since i was heading back to work), nor the boyfriend or the parent! ;) Although they were closed, I was able to get my car towed there overnight. Geoff and Gus went to work on it the very next morning and the car was fixed and ready the very next day! It runs so much better now and I really cannot thank them enough for taking care of me!

I think I’ve been going to the Mesmans for 7 — 8 years. They are truly your wonderful neighborhood mechanic. I highly recommend this place!
Although I moved away from MV area, I continue to take my car for all major repairs because I trust their advise and know that it’s genuine (in addition to their friendly and courteous staff!). As a woman who don’t really know much about cars, I truly value this about Mesman’s because I’ve been to way too many places that tried to scare you into getting repairs done and they think that they can take advantage of women who don’t know cars (like the 76 gas station garage right off of 5 Fwy Alicia Exit — don’t ever go there!). Geoff has always been very patient and courteous in explaining what repairs need to be done and give you honest opinion of how urgent each repair is — he has gone as far as drawing to help me better understand them!
I’ve serviced my Toyota and Honda here. I’ve even purchased a car at such great price from Geoff that ran for many years without requiring much repairs before a girl drove into my car and totaled it. I’ve had my car towed here on a weekend, having to leave my car there for several days but they really took care of me with rental car. Unfortunately, I had a lot of car trouble but fortunately, Mesmans been there to help me with each of my car trouble.
I’m now back in OC and am happy that I’ll be able to take advantage of their oil change service + periodic inspection.
I’ve recommend this place to many of my friends and they’ve all been happy. If you are looking for a reasonably-​priced, great quality, neighborhood mechanics, this is your place!

I found these guys on Unilocal,and brought my dad’s Acura here based on their good reviews. That was probably over 2 years ago, and since then my whole family brings our Acura and Honda vehicles here for every repair/​service Mesman provides. They know what they’re talking about, and are a local, family-​run business. I love that they provide free oil changes to their customers (although, my car is a hybrid and requires more expensive oil, they still discount the price), and I always trust their advice.

7 years ago we were new to the area and needed an oil change for my Honda. Boy, did we ever luck into finding Mesman Motors. Since that first oil change they have provided honest, reliable service at a reasonable price. They’re also super fast, and even open on Saturdays.
I feel like Geoff and Gus treat my cars like they would a family member’s car. They want to keep them running smoothly and safely, without breaking the bank. They’re not looking to get rich off of unnecessary repairs. Instead they focus on providing regular checkups (through free oil change appointments) and preventative care to save you the hassle and expense incurred when problems go undiagnosed. They tend towards the conservative when recommending repairs, often giving me a timeline before the job becomes a have-​to-​take-​care-​of-​right-​now kind of a problem.
Mesman Motors is the ONLY place we take our cars and I’ve heavily advertised them to my friends. Why? Because I trust them. And having a mechanic you trust is priceless.

As a woman with no automotive knowledge, having a trusted mechanic is invaluable! I am so grateful I found these guys!!! I went to them on a recommendation from a friend and after taking my car to them and three other mechanics, for different opinions, they were not the cheapest but not the most expensive and they really offered the best customer service. I have taken my car to them a couple times now and I am always impressed with my experience.
I have never felt taken advantage of, they always make recommendations and give you information on your car, but never ever push or try to sell you on anything. I feel I can trust them and have never been proven otherwise. Definitely recommend!

A few years ago I had the engine to my 92′ accord rebuilt here, the service was terrific so I’ve kept coming back. I should break 300,000 miles sometime this year.
This is a family run business, the father and son (Geoff) are both mechanic’s. They’re not your average mechanic’s the father holds a patent on a part used by Honda. I’ve never seen that in any shop.
We bring all our cars here for oil changes. They always do an inspection. We’ve had a couple problems with our new cars and Geoff sends us back to the dealer to have the warranty work done. One of my co-​workers took his car here and Geoff called the dealer to explain what had to be fixed. There isn’t any up sale here either, if I come in for an oil change, no one tries to sell me a radiator or transmission flush, they’ll let me know if I need a new air filter though. They’ll rotate my tires for $ 8 so no price gouging here. They’re in it for the long term relationship, eventually my new cars will be out of warranty, and I’ll always take my cars to them for the wear and tear items (brakes, batteries, clutch, oil).
I’ve had some bad experiences with other shops, Ramona tire off La Paz in Mission Viejo, actually tried to sell me a repair for a part that didn’t exist on our Toyota Sienna. I’ve had quick lube places test the radiator fluid, then show me the test results that prove radiator fluid still works, and then say «they don’t like the color of the fluid and for $ 69.95 they could flush and replace it».
Their recommendations have saved me money too. My daughters rear window was shattered at her high school, I called a few shops for estimates, called Gus at Mesman and the shop he recommendation saved us $ 100. Similar savings on tires for our cars too. Mesman is a rare find in the auto repair industry.

We’ve been taking our two cars to Mesman for 6 years. Great service, fair pricing, fast turn-​around and always fixed. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Let me start by saying I HATE MECHANICS. Too many mechanics have tried to rip me off, from dealers to independent shops. So when I find a good mechanic I stick with them. I had a 1991 Acura Integra I purchased used from my friend. He used Mesman Motors when they were in Santa Ana. I started using them, even though I lived in Long Beach at the time. To me the drive was worth it to deal with an honest mechanic (there is an oxymoron if I ever heard one). Geoff has always taken care of me.
Mesman has good pricing and they will not recommend items that are not needed. They will tell you what work you want to think about getting, but I have always found them to be honest. When I moved to Los Angeles, I still took my car to the Santa Ana site, that is how highly I think of them.
When they moved to Mission Viejo, I wasn’t too happy, but the new shop is very nice. I still took my car down there.
They are Honda experts! I currently don’t have a Japanese car, but I am looking for another one right now. When I find one, I will have Mesman do a pre-​purchase inspection and continue to use them, even though they are far from my house.
If you have a Honda or Acura, go see these guys. I have been using them since 2001. My friends relationship with them goes back even further.

I lucked out 12 yrs ago finding MM in the yellow pages. Geoff has been the ultimate professional and absolutely fair. He’s kept my last two hondas going to 230,000+ and now I take my new 09 Accord to him.

Both my mother and brother have been going to this shop for the past few years and I’ve not heard one complaint. So, practically as soon as my car’s warranty ends (of course) problems arise and I was panicking about the hundreds of dollars I would most definitely need to pay to fix my car!
I then remembered my brother and mother’s confidence in this family owned business and went for it especially since it was close to home and close to a Starbucks.
I was amazed about how nice & clean the shop looked and the honesty was surreal. They never once tried to sell me on anything that didn’t have to do directly with my concerns and they didn’t try to talk over my head with technical terms trying to intimidate me on getting something done (as most places especially the dealers.)
There was even a second time that I had brought my car in because for a few weeks my car was making this ticking/​knocking sound but of course the day of, no noise. I had them check out my car regardless. Once again, to my surprise, they called me up to tell me they couldn’t find anything wrong AND they didn’t even charge me! Why haven’t I gone here sooner?

These guys are the best. Their attention to detail and honesty is second to none. I took in my old CR-​V and they caught a subtle but important problem which required some reasonable effort diagnose and repair. I honestly don’t think any other shop would have ever even noticed.

Just had our third experience here. We have been so impressed with their communication, service quality and fair prices. It’s hard to trust anyone in the auto repair industry, we trust these guys.

I was fortunate enough to have a coworker refer me to this place years ago. Was going there ever since and up until moving from OC.
They value their customers so much that they offer free oil changes. Their prices are fair when service is required and they are very efficient.

I know Jeoff and Harry Mesman for 13 years. I have 3 cars and my first one Honda Accord 1993 has 240,000 miles and I never open the hood. All my cars from the beginning were under this family owned shop. I tried several shops before and stop it 13 years ago when I met Mesman family. I never had seen in my life the better service. The price is good, the service is great, but the most important is the honesty. You can trust them. It is so difficult to find this type of relation in the real world.
