One star only because of Steven Vargas, that actually took the initiative to actually help me after I had waited for over 35 min. Came to service my car. Had an appointment at 10:45am, when I got to the service location there was no cars, that didn’t matter. Took over 40 minutes just to get my car checked in. The idiot that I guess was supposed to help me couldn’t even print documents for the person before me. No one told me «we will be right with you» or even acknowledge me, what I got after I ask can anyone just check me in was we need to find your car to bring it back down. Worse service I have received here and will be my last time bringing my car to ghetto ass hamer Toyota, Ill rather take it else where. Guys at service who are guest customer service can’t even do their job. I also asked for the service manager, he never came.

Was looking for a 2016 Scion iM in white. I used Truecar to locate my car. Serveral Toyota/​Scion dealers came up with cars, only Hamer Toyota had my exact match. Within minutes, Meagan from the Internet Department sent me an email with a incredible price (way below MSRP). I drove in on a Saturday way out to the Valley hoping to get my Truecar price promised by Meagan. Dealership was easy to find just off the 405 (they were busy). Within minutes Meagan came out and introduced herself and introduced us to a sales rep, Steven Robles. Steven was great, no pressure and no upsell. Just showed us what we where there for and did a test drive. He then ran a credit check, went over the «agreed» upon Truecar price that Meagan (Internet Manager) sent in any email, sign some papers, then off to finance. I was in and out with my brand new Scion in 2 hours! Please note, dealers hate using Truecar as they make nothing on the car, so if you use Truecar, expect to pay the Truecar price and don’t haggle for less. I also had no trade in, so that helped speed through the process as no negotiations on my beater civic. :-).
It was painless and the easiest new car experience I’ve ever had. I would recommend Hamer Toyota, Meagan, and Steven Robles to anyone.

I don’t even know where to start with this crapy dealer. Ive bought serval cars both from dealers and private sellers and I have never got service as crappy as this one. Me and my girl where looking to get her a car Toyota Corolla. She’s been wanting this car for years and was a first time buyer. I wanted her to have a great buy experience from beginning to end that’s why I decided to come here. Well I regret this decision more than anything. My biggest life mistake was dealing with a sales man named Ricardo. Older man with a flat top hair cut white colored hair dark skin on the heavy side. He came up to us like a typical sales man big cheese smile welcoming us like King and queen. As soon as I told him right off the bad that we where getting financed by my credit union everything changed as if we didn’t matter any more. Didn’t believe we got approved wanted to run our credit started asking all these personal questions about our credit score. Like all sales man but unlike most he did not understand that we wanted no part of his financing company’s. We then went to the car lot to look at the new corollas and all he did was stand and look as us didn’t say what model was what what’s the difference how much is this one how much is that one all he said their all the same just that this one has a sunroof. He had no interest what so ever we felt lost like what do we do walk around and ready every single window sticker to see what’s what? Pathetic. We then decided to go look at the «certified» pre owned. He showed us the most expensive and usual but didn’t want to showus what we were looking for. All he would keep saying is «we have more» but didn’t want to take us. We finally walked across the street to the other lot found the one we wanted and had all kinds of promises off the bat. You know the it’s not ready for sale but we’ll get it ready for you. Well we liked the car good price 2yrs old perfect one color we wanted all the bells and whistles. Then the service terns to hell!!! We picked up the car the next day and the car never got washed never got cleaned from the inside. I ask if we could get a service guy or a detailer with a simple micro fiber towl to clean some finger marks off the dash and he says «well that’s why the car has this sticker on the window that says comes as is» dumb ass hands me the warranty sticker that’s says come with warranty doesn’t say comes as is any where. I ask him again to do me that favor just get me a simple micro fiber towl and I’ll clean it my self and he said it’s not our responsibility came comes as is and he said he couldn’t ask anyone because they won’t do anything then I said you can’t even ask? And he response let me ask my manager. For a simple wipe of a towl this man made it ww1. He made me so angry I left I couldn’t see his face another minuet and to top it off the car was never washed I told him what about the car wash you said it’ll have he says we didn wash it but you don’t know the difference between a wash and a detail. Really? The car had dust and mud near the wheel wells and he said it was washed but it needed a detail and they don’t do that. It’s dosent matter I could wash that car 100,000 times better than they ever will but what really got me fired up was his stupid answers and his rudeness And he obviously made it clear when he passed us to the financing department saying clearly «all that matters is the check» his exact words. Then we get home and notice the car won’t lock or unlock with the key fob. And the key was bent at the base. We went back right away the man Ricardo had left I called him on his phone and complained and in his language said «go fuck yourself» «vete ala mierda» how’s that for customer service. I went in to the dealer to talk to someone worth my time and just kept getting bounced around by all the sales man go here go with him go to that department. The only guy that way able to help me was a technician from service. The car key was held together by glue!!! They knew it was broken but put glue!!! Yes I know it was a used car but certified cars should not be sold like that. Evey dealer I know that sell certified cars don’t sell them unless they’re like new. Then I notice the car had some scratches and the sales manager said «we don’t fix damaged cars because they you could tell we fixed it. Well if you fix it correctly you won’t be able to tell im not saying fix a car that was t boned but repair any scratches or dents to make it a certified pre owned if car isn’t going to be like new don’t give it that certified pre owned title. Another thing is that the car had a order list for a new key but no one ever told us you know what key is damaged but you’ll get a new one or evey before the car was put on the lot it should of had the new key already. But as unprofessional that they are it’s understood. The only thing I’m happy of from this dealer is that they are replacing the broken key.

Bought a new car from Jose Fonseca at Hamer Toyota today. He was extremely helpful, patient and not pushy at all! We found similar models at other dealerships but went back to Hamer specifically to deal with Jose.
The only down side of Hamer is the extremely loud P.A. system on the sales floor. It almost forced us to leave without buying the car. Everything else was a pleasure.

My experience at Hamer Toyota was amazing. J Fonseca was very patient with me as we tried to work a deal. Hamer Toyota has more than accommodated my needs. All in all it was a painless experience.

Then you get the same sorry comment just like the ten other reviews. pretty sincere I would say. Then you get a turn down letter from credit to cover their butts i guess. What a terrible dealer. I would rather UBER than buy from HAMER. should be SHAMER.
Next the consumer advocate guy will call to try and figure out the problem. Look at the reviews. There’s your problem. When you jerk people around you hear about it.

This Toyota dealer has been one of the best so far compared to other Toyota dealers! I would like to give a special thanks to Mariano at the parts department for his exceptional customer service, friendliness and sharing his personal experience on the parts they are selling! He took his time to come out of the cashier area to explain and go over the difference between a tool that I was buying. Also, Leo was very friendly too! Keep up the good customer service guys! We’ve bought a Prius from this dealership and our experience at that time was good too!

This is a review for the service department only! I would give this place 0 stars. All the service advisors there are snakes. I went there for a 25,000 oil change. I always get my oil changed with synthetic and they put in conventional. On top of the that, the service advisor that helped me left early for the day. When I asked another advisor what happened and why, he seemed angry and didnt want to answer me. He told me, «Ask your advisor. I don’t know.» I left my service advisor, EDWIN JOVEL, messages to call me back ASAP and received no replies. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. IF YOU LOVE YOUR CAR, I RECOMMEND TAKING THE CAR TO YOUR FAVORITE MECHANIC OR ANOTHER TOYOTA SERVICE DEPARTMENT IN ANOTHER LOCATION. STAY AWAY FROM THESE LYING THIEVES. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I just bought a pre-​owned 2015 Camry from this dealership and it was a great experience! I really dislike the car buying experience in general because of the pushy sales people and the amount of time it takes, but Wency in sales was extremely helpful and friendly and helped me find exactly what I was looking for within my budget, and I was even driving my new car home after only 2 hours! Matt from Finance was also a great help. I really recommend this dealership if you are interested in buying a Toyota!

I recently purchased a 2016 Toyota Prius from here and my experience was initially positive; Rafael helped me pick my car and discussed multiple financing plans with me.
However, after mulling over my options, I returned to Hamer the next day to finalize my deal. I was told that I would have 0% APR in addition to a $ 750 college student discount so I made my down payment of a couple thousand dollars. After I signed my forms, I waited in the lobby so Toyota Financial could process my paperwork.
I waited 2 hours and finally received approval. I followed a representative named Adam, who was very cold and callous in demeanor, into his office. After I signed MANY forms, he informed me that I had to show proof of employment in order to receive my college student discount. Rafael had NEVER mentioned this part to me, he only told me to bring in my diploma, and had he informed me of this beforehand, I would have selected a different plan and even a different car/​dealership. I told Adam I was never informed of this and he promptly spoke with Rafael. Neither of them apologized for the obvious error and throughout this time, Adam was very rude, pushy and cut me off when I was talking. He seemed to want me in and out as quickly as possible. What kind of service is this? I understand that I was at the dealership towards closing time, but I was extremely displeased by this behavior. My dissatisfaction was apparent and Adam gave me even more attitude. I told him that I would try to obtain proof of employment as soon as possible, and he said no. He said I had to come in the NEXT business day for proof (mind you, I just graduated from college a week ago and like many others, am still looking for a job). He was adamant and quickly snatched the $ 750 check, which he said we «might» be able to get back if we submit proof on time.
Hamer, we are returning customers. We have purchased multiple cars from you, given you thousands of dollars in business and THIS is how you treat us? Terrible. Wency is a great salesman, by the way, but he was busy this time around and couldn’t help us. Shame on you Hamer Toyota.

Bought a new Prius from Hamer. Used the Consumer Reports/​TrueCar pricing. Made an appointment to meet Donnie. No haggling, no hassle. He was helpful, friendly and professional. Picked a car in two minutes, he verified the price I already had and done. Filling out the paperwork took a while, as always, but that is normal. I wanted mats and he even discounted them. Final step was Armando, the finance manager. Again totally professional and no high pressure to buy extras. Signed the forms and DONE!
This is the way to buy a car. Thank you Hamer, job well done. Everyone involved was great.
I decided to purchase an extended warranty. I also had questions about the electronics. The car is like a computer. I called Donnie and he contacted Marylou Santiago for the warranty. She gave me a great price and I was done in about ten minutes. Like I said, the car is so complicated I thought the extended warranty would be good insurance.
I asked Donnie for help on using the radio, Entune system and GPS. The day I was going in he was off and he told me to ask for Steven Robles. He helped me for about a half hour and answered my questions. He was so pleasant and understanding! Donnie even called me to make sure everything was ok!
What can I say? An already great experience just got even better!
Sorry to report service dept. is terrible. My new GPS can not find addresses at least ten years. Mike, the service manager, blows off my calls and emails. I even emailed and called the general manager several times, and not even a phone call. Follow up service is more important than sales, and Hamer does not cut it. I will get Toyota customer relations involved and go elsewhere for service and sales in the future!

Reno gets 5 stars. He’s a great sales person and very personable.
The dealership on the other hand… I drove 35 miles to find out the vehicle was sold, and that was after double checking that morning. Reno couldn’t be there, but he left instructions the day before, and the other staff still managed to screw it up. So I went somewhere else.
I wouldn’t recommend those who are driving a distance to come here. If you do, make sure Hamer has more than one vehicle you’re willing to buy because more than likely it won’t be there and that’s a wasted trip. Also, make sure you know what you’re paying, msrp vs. layered with premiums/​adjustments.
Also for anyone that does patronize this establishment, Reno and Lance are the salesmen to go with.

Had the greatest experience getting a used Prius here today.
I’ve been quietly hunting for another car for a long time now. Every dealer I’ve stopped in with has been either extremely pushy or condescending to me, running me around for hours and not getting anywhere near a decent deal.
Ish (that’s his name!) was great. Not only did he let me ultimately decide on the car, he was kind and had totally normal relevant small talk! I was seriously blown away. He handled my extremely bored and thus bouncy 4 year old, plus the other guys in the office too.
All in all I’m extremely happy and would tell anyone to go here if they needed a used car.

I have been a customer of Hamer since I was 17 — I turn 40 in a couple of months. During these 23 years I’ve purchased/​leased 13 cars. I’ve referred my family and friends who purchased cars from here. I know many of the employees in the sales department.
Here’s my issue– over the years I’ve dealt with certain people-​mostly in the VIP sales department. MaryLou was the last one and was GREAT however she got promoted to Finance and can no longer sell cars. I was sent to a guy whose name starts with an M in the supposedly VIP department. He could careless how long I’ve been a customer. He basically said «here’s the price. I can’t do anymore. If you’re not buying tonight then i need to go. You have 2 payments left on your lease. You don’t expect me to pay that do you?»
Saying that I was upset would be an understatement. We went to Northridge but they didn’t have any Sienna’s.
Keyes Honda was amazing. They paid one payment. Took our car and got a fully loaded Odessey for $ 20 more per month than an LE Sienna.
I don’t know what I’m going to do when my Prius lease is up in a couple of months. Maybe an Accord or another Toyota dealership.
