Treehouse Shine Bar An Grill

I favor places like this, for real. Even with mediocre food, a limited beer menu, and watered down booze, this place shines because it has a great atmosphere and crowd. I like places with friendly people who give a shit about each other.

Tree house is a lot of fun. The sugar shine is pretty good, service is always very friendly, and prompt. The crowd varies from night to night but its never boring, and we have met some interesting people. Every time I go there everyone seems really happy. Occasionally they will have a band. As previous reviewers noted the décor is eclectic… there are all the games from your childhood on the tables… connect 4, chess, rockem sockem robots, pickup sticks etc. and there are made up drinking board games on some of the tables… the cooler for the sugar shine is a big clawfoot bathtub. At times it seems as though its the cantina from the first Starwars movie…
The only food I have ever tried was a bite of someone else’s grilled cheese… so I cant really review the food. I’ll update after I try some.

It’s good when Ashley’s at the bar, otherwise service isn’t so good. Disappointed in that. It’s smoky in here, but it doesn’t bother me unless I’m trying to eat. All around, this childish game place can be fun (though small) and I like the infused vodkas. I don’t think they are all that strong, but that’s just my opinion.

Delicious flavored ‘moonshines’ – they’re let you taste before you commit.
Free popcorn. Fun staff. Cool activities – like writing on the ceiling with chalk, etc.
Just a fun place to hang out with friends and enjoy a tasty beverage.

Horrible service. Even with the co-​owner working, drinks would take forever. Food wasn’t edible. And while waiting for our check the bartender took a smoke break.

Worst service I have ever had. This place is a joke. One of the «owners» was there and didn’t even help the bartender/​server with any of the customers. It’s sad that this place could have potential if they just had decent staff and owners that actually cared.

We had a great time. Went with a few friends. Shines great, service is great. The food is Amazing for what it is. Best fried bologna I’ve ever had. Cool concept keep up the good work.

I have been having drinks at this place for over 6 months, and I finally tried the food. Wow, was I ever pleasantly surprised! I ordered the stuffed mushrooms, and the onion cheeseburger, I think it was called. The mushrooms were even better than I have had at Café Navarre, if you can believe it! For 7.95, I got a plateful of ‘shrooms filled with, God, I may even go on record here to so was damn good it might have been stuffed with goose liver. The staff is incredibly friendly and informative about the food, the really cool extended selection of quality craft beers and in house moonshine-​type mixes, and they are surprisingly fairly priced. It is a smoking bar, which I find is cool, even though I am a non smoker. The whiners that don’t like smoking are losing out on a good joint,;get down offa your high horse and explore one of Michiana’s coolest newest places. They also have original music a few times a month, and everyone seems to check their egos at the door. A truly hip and groovy place, and this from an old cynic! Menus made out of old reading books from anyone over 40 years olds’ childhoods, like Dr, Suess, etc. This, is so much more valid than the crap they are doing in downtown South Bend, (Café Navarre excluded) Did I mention they have a free juke box!!! Best of all, no rap!!!

best bar in this area! the whole bar is like a giant Pinterest DIY feel, great moonshine, and amazing employees that have been friends for a very long time. they should be proud to have such an awesome bar !

Great local bar and Grill.. Set up like a treehouse inside.. You can write on walls with chalk. The menus are in old golden books.. The food is slow to come but worth the wait.. Burgers are the best.. If they have it try the carmal apple moonshine.. It was yummy…
