AMLI Miramar Park

I’ve been living here for two months. The apartment complex is very upscale and the apartments themselves feel luxurious. It’s is gated which makes me feel secure and the tenants seem to be mostly families or young professionals. The staff in the office has been very helpful and willing to take care of any concerns I might have.

From the moment that, I move in Julia has been the greatest in assisting me, in the process. I had a couple issues and she has resolved them for me, also she put in a couple tickets for the maintenance dept to come out and fix. They came out the same day and fix the issues. Julia is a great asset to this community. thank you Julian and the maintenance dept.

It makes me feel really sad that this place wasn’t what I was looking for. I have been living here plenty of time to know that the management only offers empty promises. If you live above a garage it’s just a nightmare, you will hear every time the garage opens or it closes, the parking situation it’s ridiculous, everyone can come and park wherever they like, since there ain’t control of the guests who come here, so be prepared to not find a place in front of your building. The community gates have never work more than a week and when they do, «guests» tailgate. The noises in the hallway are unbearable, you’ll hear your neighbors talking, the dog next door barking the whole day, and neighbors slamming their doors shaking your apartment. There is not way you will enjoy having some time at the pool at least you like listen to other people music that loud that you won’t hear your own thoughts and finally you will see your own dog getting lost in the grass since apparently they only mow the lawn every other week. So be wise and keep looking, it has to be a better place to live.

I have been living in various apartments throughout college and now post-​grad. I most recently came from a place in doral. My S/​O and I are graduate students, one at NOVA and one at FIU. We picked AMLI initially because of the location, it’s pretty much smack in the middle between the two colleges. AMLI is close to the turnpike, which is good too. It’s also advertised as a luxury community, which we were looking for. i’ve only been living here for 2 months now so as i continue to reside I may update the review.
The Pros:
–So far, the leasing staff has been super friendly and helpful. This is actually a rare find in apartment communities.
–Very nice clubhouse
–Open and plentiful parking
–The apartment itself is beautiful. We live in the larger of the 2/2’s and I love it. There’s so much storage space! Something that is hard to find amongst other apartments. There’s even a built in bookshelf. Kitchen is also huge which is a must for me since I cook.
–The A/​C is powerful! love it.
–location
–complex is kept relatively clean
–maintenance is pretty quick on responding to issues and fixes them diligently and completely.
–i personally have not had any noise or other neighbor complaints
–gym is small, but ok, it could be a lot better
–stand up shower in the (guest) room. this is a bit weird but we’ll take it. the guest room is also larger than our master (?why?)
–double sinks in the master! great feature
The Cons:
— the garbage situation NEEDS to change. this is probably the worst thing about this community, and it’s a rather big one. there’s only 1 garbage bin, which is ok, but ignorant people will leave there garbage outside of the bin. why? because they’re lazy. the garbage isn’t full, they just leave it in front of it instead of actually putting it in the trash. this creates a HUGE FLY PROBLEM. if it’s not picked up, it sits overnight, and i’m sure you can guess what happens… RACCOONS. raccoons will tear up the garbage and spread it all over the place so now the maintenance workers have 3x the amount of work, it smells, you can’t put your garbage away so you have no choice but to just leave it there and add to the problem. they also charge you for trash per month and also if you leave it outside your door which is absolutely ridiculous especially since the trash situation is so poorly handled. AMLI companies need to get on this ASAP
–i really hate the dishwasher. they gave us the cheapest and smallest dishwasher in the world. hate it!
–the gates are horrible. they give you a fob to use, but they don’t have a pin code system. they only give you 1 fob per apartment so it’s impossible to leave 1 fob in the car and 1 on your keys so you can get into the clubhouse/​gym. you have to have it on your keys while they’re in your ignition. i don’t know what the other member of the household without the key fob would do if the gates weren’t open. AMLI needs to change this and give everyone clickers. this is much safer and more efficient. i don’t understand why they haven’t done this, AMLI is a huge company.
— they nickel and dime you so much here. this is shady and unnecessary, especially when we’re paying so much in rent! i’ll make a list of all of the hidden fees (that i’m aware of)
1. trash: $ 8/​mo
2. water «service» fee ($ 2 or 4 $, I forgot)/mo
3. water «initiation» fee of $ 20, one time
4. renters insurance, depending on who you go with $ 11/​mo
5. large pet fees if you own a pet, don’t know how much they are i just remember them being very high
6. 35 $ Key fob fee (seriously?)
[Electricity, water, cable, internet all not included. They prefer AT&T or Comcast as your providers but if you argue you can probably get directv or something else. Water is a weird situation. Instead of paying a water service, you pay AMLI in your rent the amount you owe, not the water company directly or separately. I don’t know why this is the case but I don’t like it, it seems kind of fishy. I’m going to look more into it. i was aware of ⁴⁄₆ of these hidden fees when i signed. no one mentioned the water ones.]
Anyways, it’s a new community. there’s still some kinks, but i’ll reevaluate later on. It’ll be interesting to see if AMLI handles these issues. I’ve enjoyed living here so far. I really like my apartment itself. Don’t know if I will re-​sign.

Brad — I gotta agree with you. First, SHAME on me for not hitting the local Publix before I choose this place. This is a very old, fairly unmaintained and highly congested area of Florida. Unfortunately, I was blinded by the well appointed brand new apartments and did not bother to check out the surrounding area. I also transferred my job and lease — so it was cost effective. However, for $ 1618 per month not only do I have to worry about my security, but living amongst SOME of those (Note to readers~ I said «some, not all») who apparently have no respect for themselves or for others as indicated by the way they dispose of their trash is upsetting. Undoubtedly the roaches are coming next; its just a matter of time… It is sad because the staff are amazing (it is not their fault) and the units themselves beautiful. Weston is probably a better choice for me.

I wish I could give this community a higher rating but I just cant. Its a combination of the people that reside here and some of the issues that I have had with this complex. For starters the gates have been a disaster. I have been waiting for 5 months for security gates and the first day we get them they break from people tailgating in. It has to be the worst designed entrance i’ve seen yet they decide to charge the tenants a gate key fee for something that doesn’t work. Also the people that reside in this complex, not all of them, but most of them are complete slobs. They leave their trash all over the place and refuse to put the trash in the compactor.
We have people that are coming in the community that are definitely not residents using the gym and trashing the place. I don’t blame management because there are only so much they can do and they do really try hard to get things done for us. My advice would be to look north of Miramar in plantation you can get the same quality for cheaper. I will not be renewing my lease at this complex.

An absolute joke of a «luxury community». Were told amenities would be ready for use by beginning of November. Moved in early October. To this day, we are still not receiving mail in our own mailbox. The pool area just opened. There are no FOB keys, meaning the club house is only open in business hours, and the gym (tiny) is open for anyone. There are no gates, and parking is already an issue. Trash situation has been ridiculous, and there’s a lot of dog owners not picking up. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to move here — it’s priced as a luxury community, but you don’t get much value for the high rent. I’ll give them 1 star because the apartments are fairly nice.
