History
Established in 2003.
Dr. John H.L. Odom, Jr. is a board-certified medical doctor who specializes in sports medicine. Dr. Odom is a nationally recognized physician, providing medical coverage for several local teams/events, as well as the Olympic U.S. Triathlete, Free Ski and Snow Board Teams.
Dr. Odom enhanced his sports medicine private practice in 2011 to provide physical therapy, nutrition counseling, personal training and other integrative and wellness services all in one place. In 2013, OHW acquired Active Therapeutics Institute, becoming a preferred provider of MedX medical grade physical therapy equipment.
OHW has expanded to provide therapy services in eight different locations in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois.
Dr. Odom is one of only a few physicians in Minnesota to practice the Hackett Hemwall method of Prolotherapy. Countless new studies show Prolo’s effectiveness in successfully treating enthesopathies (i.e.: tennis elbow, jumper’s knee, plantar fasciitis).

Business Owner
Dr. John H.L. Odom, Jr. is a board-certified medical doctor who specializes in sports medicine. He attended medical school at the University of Colorado and completed a primary sports medicine fellowship at Hennepin County Medical Center.
Dr. Odom provides medical coverage for the Twin Cities Marathon, Chicago Marathon, USA Triathlon, Olympic Free Ski and Snow Board Teams, MN High School State Tournaments, and he is the medical director of the USAT National Championship Triathlon (2007 – 2010, 2013 – 2014), the Liberty Triathlon (2006 – 2010, 2013), the USA team elite triathlete team physician, and the medical director at Wellspring Health Center. He has served as team pyhsician at the USA Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, and he regularly teaches sports medicine fellows.
Dr. Odom is one of only a handful of physicians in the Twin Cities area to practice the Hackett-Hemwall method of Prolotherapy.
