Lehman’s Garage

Have used them several years back and they did a fine job so tried to go back. Wanted estimate but no appointment was open for a few weeks so had to do pop in on a Saturday morning. Got in and out about 45 min later with estimate. Was told it was busy and to just call to schedule the work, probably be three to four weeks before they could start. Got insurance all set and called to make appointment but after two unanswered phone calls to schedule I went to Walser collision.

Thursday after my review I contacted business owner to resolve issues Mrs cossete seemed willing to make good on the repair problems I was having. She said if I could be there Monday morning at 8 she could get the truck on the rack and take a look at it. Sunday night I spent at the hospital with my 8 ½ month pregnant wife who was suffering kidneys stones. I awok monday to several increasingly demanding voice mails enquiring of my whereabouts the final of which demanding that I remove my review and stating she has contacted a lawyer regarding the matter.
I jumped in the truck and flew up there 40 minutes late.
After getting truck on the rack I pointed out several of the issues. They denied touching the rack and pinion told me they would install the clips but in doing so they were not admitting responsibility for it. the dealer replaced the rack sometime ago it possible that they did not put the clips on. Unlikely but possible.
I then pointed to the fan shroud and the problems with it, it was loose and missing the bottom plastic shroud (a piece two feet by a foot and a half big) and was told by Chad that they didn’t touch it. I then pulled up a video from wcco news who by chance did a story on the busy shop which clearly showed the piece torn apart sitting on top of my truck. You can see the truck in news stories on channel 4 and channel 5 web sites. In a feeble attempt to cover his lie Chad stated that we weren’t billed for the part that’s why he said they didn’t touch it. They did bill for it I have it on the invoice
I pointed out the missing bumper bolts. which they claimed were not part of the design.
They were ½ right regarding bumper mounts they can have 3 screws per side but there is an indexing pin in place of 4^th bolt. Some trucks have 4 bolts some have the pin (I went to dealer and crawled under every 2012 they had. When we got ours back it had neither).
During most of the meeting to resolve the issues with the truck I had little hope of resolution. Then finally after after much back and forth there service manager Dan stepped up explained that the shop has a great reputation (which was the reason I took it there to begin with) said there was no excuse for the missing parts and wanted to make it right. That was all I needed to hear, we set up a time to finish the repair.
They checked into the rental car refund, it was already returned.
I took my truck in, 4 hours later they called me said they were done.
I went there crawled around under it found a couple missing plastic clips on some of the new parts installed. They put them on while I was there. I pointed out the fenders were still misaligned they said there like that on new trucks. Truck still pulls. My original fear of replacing one tire is the culprit they claim there’s nothing they can do progressive won’t pay for the tire. But they will align it after I buy tires. They should have replaced those in pairs to begin with. Even if progressive wouldn’t pay for it $ 160 on a $ 16,000 job would be a small price to pay to make sure the truck drove straight.

I made sure to call and confirm all visits and questions beforehand, my estimator had a unique schedule. Once we lined everything up, this place was a joy to work with. I got a free rental car here with AmFam, the shop was good at communicating when my car would be done, etc. They went above and beyond my expectations!

My girlfriend brought her car in for a oil change and from them to look at her shocks. The estimate came back at 4,600.00 They found tons of stuff wrong with her car. I went and brought her car to another shop and asked them to do the same — estimate 720.00. I then showed them the estimate from Lehmans — they looked over everything and said they had never seen such Bullcrap. One of the things Lehmans was charging was 79.00 to ’ de– grease the battery ! What a bunch of crooks. I had been bringing my cars there for over 10 years — never again. Guess they have to pay for that million dollar remodel. Sad sad sad

This was one of the best experiences I’ve had with an auto body repair shop. Every person I encountered was friendly, helpful and efficient. My car had damage to front bumper from a collision it was in, they looked at it on a Saturday, let me choose when to bring it in that week and it was ready within 25 hours. They arranged a no hassle rental car for me (that was a total junker).
They called the night I dropped it off to let me know it could be ready, but they wanted to let the paint dry a little longer and that I could pick it up as early as 8:30 am the next day. I would already be at work by then, so they said they’d have it up front with the keys locked in it and I could pick it up after hours. When I got there, there were still a few people working so I asked where my car might be and one of the Johns ran to the back lot and pulled it right up front to me. Bonus was they washed the inside and outside of my vehicle, which I’ve only ever had the dealership do.
Half the people I met remembered my name and the car I drove even though, in my entire life, I have only been there three times. It was an overall great experience and I was seriously impressed with the service. I would recommend anyone go to this shop for any body repair they may need. My car looks and runs great.

I was told they would have my car in 4 weeks. 9 weeks later I was told they needed another week. Needless to say I told them this was unacceptable. I got my car back later that day. The check engine light came on in 2 days. I really appreciated that JILL in Savage MN, thought it was funny to tell me my car was delayed another week when I called asking for an update.
Go anywhere else. Your car is just a number and they have no pride! I wish I could give them. I called their main office asking for help and they never returned my call.

I had a fairly minor dent in the front bumper of my SUV, but as you know, there is no such thing as minor, in terms of expense, when it come to fixing/​repairing auto body damage.
I went to a couple of reputable auto body shops, and got repair estimates in the hundreds of dollars. I went to Lehman, and they thought it could be fixed for $ 85. I thought I’d give them a try. I left the car, they fixed the dent within an hour, and then didn’t even want to charge me because it was so minor.
All I can say is I would definitely talk to these guys if you have an issue with your vehicle that they might be able to address. My experience with them (and with Chad, the body shop manager) was excellent.

My experience with Lehman’s has even pretty frustrating. I had the front bumper of my Volvo XC70 replaced last month, only to bring the car home and find out they hadn’t tightened the connection from the washer fluid reservoir to the hoses that spray it, so I filled the washer fluid and it ran out all over my garage. Car back to the shop for another day so they could remove the new bumper and fix their mistake. Now, a month later, I get an oil change and the mechanic (not Lehman’s) says my fog lamps were never reconnected when the bumper was replaced. Argh. Another trip back to Lehman’s to fix another mistake.
Everyone there is super nice, very friendly, etc. but they seem to rush through repairs, missing silly details. Granted, they did get me an (extremely small) rental car for the extra day I had the car in the shop, but it was their mistake and I had to move two car seats in and out of the rental twice.
Overall, I can’t say I’d recommend them.

I hate to write this, because my experience at Lehman’s has been good in the past, but this was pretty bad. I was having a part replaced, and I came at the time the estimator said, only to find that (a) he’d forgotten to schedule my appointment and (b) he’d forgotten to order the part. He apologized and we rescheduled. This time, he’d ordered the part, but forgotten to check whether it had arrived. So I’d come there twice, for scheduled appointments, for no reason at all. The estimator offered a vague apology, but nothing else. So I went elsewhere with my repair.
I’ve never had an estimator seem so determined to lose my business before, and I hope this was some kind of weird aberration.

A neighbor backed into our car & dented our bumper. After getting several quotes from auto body shops found through Unilocal,we opted to take our car to Lehmans. Since the accident occurred over the holidays we had to take a week and half or so to get an appointment, but Lehmans handled the estimate & garnered payment from our neighbor’s insurance smoothly. The drop-​off took a little longer than we had hoped, but they provided us a rental car (rental agency is right across the street) & they had the repair completed faster than they promised (roughly 1 day). The work was top-​notch & they even called us afterwards to make sure we were completely satisfied. Definitely a customer focused establishment that I will use in the future if the need arises.

Brought my 06 Audi A3 in for brakes, timing belt and more. They charged a very fair price, Dan was responsive and the work was done quickly. They earn big trust points in that my brakes did not need repair and they could have easily done the work and I wouldn’t have known. Business integrity is huge!

I just got my jeep back after a month of mistakes made by lehman’s. What started out as a «4 to 5 day» body work job painstakingly took a month after they 1) ripped my quarter panel 2) took them 1 week to realize the replacement panel was on back order 3) decided a replacement panel was not necessary 4) had to fix a scratch they put in my door 5) had to re-​paint the door because they couldn’t match the color. After all of that, they even managed to break my key/​ignition and I’m sitting at the dealer right now waiting to hear what the issue is. The only good thing was they completely admitted their mistakes BUT all they could do for me was give me a great price on any future service. I will never go back and they will never get another dime from me.

Wellll, in December I, unfortunately, crashed 2 cars in two days. My mom and I both brought our cars to Lehman’s. Ok who am I kidding we had them towed to Lehman’s.
We both had a great experience with them. My mom doesn’t have rental car coverage on her insurance, but Lehman’s covered a rental for her anyway. I do have coverage and they told me they will cover anything over my coverage rate. That was awesome and convenient. No running anywhere else to rent a car. The guy they work with runs the cars back and forth for them, so you can pick it up when you drop off your car and drop it off when you pick up your car. Easy Peasy.
Lehman’s did the work on my car perfectly. It somehow even looked better than it did before I got in the accident! They called and gave me updates on where they were with my car and when they thought it would be done. Unfortunately my mom’s car was totaled, but they did let her keep the rental a couple extra days until she could get a new car.
So if you need body work done, I would definitely recommend Lehman’s. The building is brand new and really nice too. They have coffee and some tables and chairs, and it’s very clean. You feel like you are in a car dealership and not a repair place.

I took my car to Lehman’s on Lyndale last Spring after my oil pressure light had come on and left feeling incredibly frustrated. First, the problem with my car had been misdiagnosed. Hard to believe, right? Usually when I take my car to a mechanic, I expect them to do a thorough job inspecting the problem. The manager told me what was wrong and then quoted me $ 900+ to fix the so-​called problem. After telling him I thought the $ 900 repair was too much, he then offered to cut the price in half. Normally when someone offers to give you a deal like this it sounds too good to be true, and in this case it was. I declined his offer and took my car to the dealership instead. Turns out, the dealership where I bought my car had discovered a sheared bolt lying in the oil pan and when they installed a new one the oil pressure light stopped and my car has driven fine since then. Had I gone with Lehman’s suggestion I would’ve been out $ 900 and my car wouldn’t be fixed. I’m sure there have been many customers who have had good experiences with Lehmans, but I felt like they were either being dishonest or deceitful to me just so they could make a quick buck. Lehmans has lost my business and I now take my car to one of their competitors across the street.

We had our Rav4 repaired here not to long ago. They called to say it was ready so I decided to walk there (about a mile and a half) and then just drive it to work. Sounded like a great morning to me. When I arrived I was told, «Oh, sorry… it’s NOT ready.» This was noticeably frustrated and late to work. Bad morning. In not too long, Mike called and said he wanted to make things right. He gave me a free detailing AND oil change on a different vehicle that I own. Unbelievable. He felt bad about the mixup and took steps to make sure I was happy.
Nicest guys ever. Would (will) go back for sure.
